George,
I have been away for the weekend on a 3 game golf trip to wales without internet access so this is the first opportunity I have had to congratulate you on your double cup success. It just shows you that you cannot predict anything with certainty in football, This is the worst Chelsea team I can remember, but they have shown a spirit and desire that just has to be commended to drag themselves from a season of despair to reach the pinnacle of European football. well done. You are not however, the best team in the world, you have to win the world club championship next season to be billed as that and only one other european cup winning team from these islands has managed to do that, twice.
The fact that I picked up 2 nearest the pin awards and 3rd place on friday in the weekends jaunt to wales did not lessen the pain of City winning the league, Chelsea winning the CL and FA cup and even Liverpool winning the Carling cup. THe fact that we picked up the 'big one' in the community shield, now means nothing. I have done my fair share of shouting the odds over the years whilst winning, so I am now going to sign off congatulating everyone who picked up the silverware or promotion and also thank everyone who didnt quite make it for providing us all with riveting entertainment all season and I am looking forward already to next seasons fayre. Have a good safe summer boys and good look to the three lions.
Cheers, Dakey

Dakey Lucky we're all on London weighting down here eh!!!! Seriously they are lot of money when you look at them in a lump sum but my ticket is £935 (which is the majority ticket lower tier)and includes at least 7 home cup ties and champs league so on average my ticket price is just shy of £35 which is vfm. How are the united tickets in comparison??? Not that much different i reckon. Jay

Jay,
Arsenals prices are quoted at £985 cheapest with 7 cup games threw in and £1955 dearest and that is 30 odd thousand of them. Utds is £532 cheapest up to £950 dearest and match day tickets vary from £30 quid to £52 quid. whichever way you look at it, good value.
Citys, however is great value as it is supply and demand and despite recent success they still cant sell them at any price.

Sorry mate your right it's £985 so still works out at £37 odd a game. The prices quoted look like standard ticket prices and don't include the 7,100 tickets at club level which vary between 2k and 3k.
We're coining it in and are so ready for FFP. Can't wait!!
Jay
Oh yeah Dave good point. When he last went arfur albiston was still captain!!

What would I have given longer odds for...Chelsea to win CL or old Englebert to win the Eurovision. Tough call.
Actually shouldn't call him old as I understand there are a group of russian grannies...maybe someone has been having me on there. Apparantley they have subs and rotate their starting line-up. Unbelievable.

Fedup with chat only between Man U/City, Arsenal, Chelski & Spurs, why not congratulate my team (Huddersfield Town) who won promotion to the big money after 22 penalty shoot out?
Why are there no real fans on this blog who support real teams - not just jump on bandwagon cos they are flavour of the day when they are kids (or even older).
Support the team where you are from not the easy option of the best team (or richest) in the league.
Great to think we will play against my mates teams next year (David - Blackburn, Graham -Peterborough)
Sorry for the Blades who should be in the higher league but someone has to lose.
Why not emulate Southampton and Norwich and go straight up (hopefully with Jordan Rhodes)
Come on Town!.
Barry

Dave,
Congratulations mate, Nice to see you are building a nice little ENGLISH family with less and less connection to your tenuous dubious Scottish roots. Seriously though, I am chuffed for you, less globe hopping now and more baby sitting duties I think.
Barry, quite right mate, Its always nice when one of our smaller local clubs has a measure of success, with one obvious exception, so good luck next year.
To put it all in perspective the figures came out yesterday for the season before last which brings into focus why Eufa must be resolute on financial fair play. Man City posted a £197 million pound LOSS on the season with the wage bill for players only at nearly double their income, the worst ever financial figures in football history which basically means, like Rangers, that they are cheating their way on to the top table. Chelseas' figures look slightly better with only a £68 million pound loss and the wage bill only one and a half times their income, then in the small print is a £94 million pound 'loan' from Abramovich to smooth it all over, so another team cheating its way forward. Utds' wage bill by the way was less than 50% of turnover, which are the kind of figures Eufa are trying to introduce. All in all, a fabulously exciting product riddled with cheats without a moral compass. A lot to sort out I would think.
