George,
I am not a betting man as such, I dont bother with the horses etc, but I do know a bit about footie, This year had 100 quid on Utd for the league at 5/4 on xmas eve. had 20 quid on Utd at 15/8 Chelsea away in CL. have a regular 50 quid every season for the last 5 seasons with a blue mate in the pub. I have Utd and I give him everyone else. I am 200 quid in front on that one, so once again I am heavily in credit just backing my team. I offered to take your bet in the final george, but you bottled it! Every close season, ABUs give a catalogue of reasons why Utds time is up, What happens? they all look stupid one year later by and large.
Dave,
Winning where, and in what competition? You have won a half decent comp now, you dont have to go on and on about friendlies, lets wait to see if you can take it on a level, the banners starting again at zero.
Cheers, Dakey

dakey if i recall correctly i offered you a £50 bet on the cl which you turned down as you wanted better odds or you would place it elsewhere yourself. looks like you didnt include it in your bets just mentioned so im guessing you bottled it- bit like your team!

George,
I said I like a bet, but I am not stupid, I make easy money backing Utd against the likes of Chelsea and City, that way despite the odd hiccup its like printing money. I would have backed Utd if you had given me the odds of 13/8 that was on offer at the bookies, why would anyone with half a brain take less? I must confess though, even at those odds, on the night I did not take them as, for some reason, I was not confident of beating them. good call there then, I kept my vast profits from the Chelsea bets nicely in my pocket.
I will also admit as well that I expect it to be tight next year so instead of giving my mate the rest of the premier league teams, they are going to have to choose one team to back for the 50 quid, but I still expect to clean up again.
Cheers, Dakey

Dakey,
Don't rise to the pathetic comments being made. They are happy to have a go at the team that won their NINETEENTHÂ English title and reached the CLÂ final for the third time in four years along with the reserves getting to the FAÂ Cup semi final and the youth team winning the cup. With the exception of City what have any of their teams managed - NOTHING. Couldn't even wrestle the Carling Cup from Birmingham! George's beloved Chelsea have a team getting older by the day, an empty trophy cabinet and no manager. Jay's beloved gooners have an empty trophy cabinet and a load of p****ed off fans. CityDave at least has the FAÂ Cup to desperately talk up after knocking our reserves out in the semi finals so something to cheer even if it did cost quite a lot to get it. If they can hang onto their only decent striker and keep off the drugs they might even challenge us next year...

You're right we're pi**ed off but we beat Barca over 90 mins fair and square and if RVP had not been sent off for F**k all then we'd of had a fair old chance of doing em in their back yard as well. By the way RVP missed out by 2 goals on Top goal scorer this season and he only played from January onwards.
Final point, Â your post after the champs league final was actually very funny. To allude to the fact that Barca had to raise their game to beat you was the funniest thing written on this thread ever. It was a carbon copy of two years ago they let you have 13 mins and a shot on goal and that was your lot. It was like watching a little boy pulling the legs off a spider. Almost cruel but very enjoyable.

Jay and Chaddy, everything we know and love about that lot in one bundle. Great post Jay. Its absolutely typical of the no nothing K***head attitude to now try to pretend a reserve team was put out each time they lost one of the glorious quadruple trophies.
Facts Dakeys less intelligent little bro
Your team on Saturday was the same as we beat except for Spudface being banned and Giggs left out for you know what so Scholes played. Barring 2 attacks you were outplayed.
Saturday, as Jay so rightly puts it was not a great game attall. It was a complete walkover
On Monday the club tried to put on a victory parade through Stretford and Trafford. About 30,000 people turned up
Please continue your banter with us but to keep us interested, talk a bit more sense
Take That on Saturday??????!!!!!!! ( I know take the p***s)

Dave, mate,
Leave my mate Kev alone, he is only trying to talk some sense into some very bitter jealous people. On the parade front, It was absolutely tipping down, it was our 30th such parade and we still had more attend than your little party last week, most of your crowd was going to the sale at Asda next to Eastlands.
On a different note, did you see the ridicule that your ex chairman Bernstein received at the FIFA congress. He stood up and tried to lecture people about corruption, I nearly split my sides. If my memory serves me correctly, did he not chair the independant panel that banned Rooney for the semi-final against the club where he had been chairman, the first and I guarantee the last player to be banned for swearing. No wonder everyone voted against us. Can someone explain how he was construed to be independant in the first place?Â
Kev, we have to be gracious in defeat just like our manager. We can quite rightly celebrate the 19th title won with the best home record ever and know that it is something our detractors will never come close to, but we have to accept that City deserved to win that FA Cup Semi and yes Dave we did field a strong team and that Barca mullered us and when we feel a little down over that we can just remember the games against Chelsea and all is suddenly right with the world again and we also know that despite the occasional hiccup that the red cream always rises to the top.
Cheers, DakeyÂ

Georgie boy,
Its only a joke at our expense when your money hasnt worked for you and you cant ram "double winners" etc down our throats every post, so as you have nothing to shout about now its a joke. You are correct, however, time to get behind Lancs as they try to win the cricket league for the first time since god knows when, in fact its a common thread in Manchester as to who will win their respective league first, City or Lancashire. My moneys on the cricketers.
Yes,time to lighten up and call a truce on the football for a month or so and then we can all eulogise about our summer signings and all start again with a clean slate. Lets, for the sake of english football, hope that a few of your teams turn up next year to give us as much entertainment as we have had this year. Fellas, thanks, it has been awesome!!
Cheers, Dakey

George,
I have spent the morning thinking about this one and just to prove I am not biased here is my best ever premier team, based on both individual talent plus achievement.
Schmeichel, G Neville, Ferdinand, Pallister, Irwin.   Kanchelskis, Keane, Giggs, Ronaldo.  Rooney, Cantona.
I am sorry, I looked at the merits of the non Utd players you mentioned and some were outstanding players, but none of them could hold a candle to that team above. Just my unbiased opinion, mate. There are a few and/ors in there but the other players I omitted were all Utd players as well, I cant help it, do you think there may be something wrong with me?
Cheers, Dakey

George,
I know it is close season and we are supposed to be in truce mode, but I could not let the fiasco going on at the bridge pass without comment. You just could not make it up, in their desperation to win the CL Chelsea have tried CL winners as managers, without success. A novel new approach is to pay 13 million quid for a man with absolutely no CL experience at all! Indeed he only has ONE! year as a manager. How has Abramovich made a fortune in his business life with decisions like that. I am still waiting for Jeremy Beadle to jump out and expose it for the sad joke it has surely got to be.
Â
What do you think George, go on try and justify it. I am sure after the first 6 games he will be the best thing since sliced bread as apart from UTD your first 6 fixtures are even easier than the start you were given last year, so it will be about 10 games in before the inevitable collapse takes shape.
Cheers, Dakey

I think most teams will have trouble scoring as many as ryan ( i am an angel) giggs has done. dont think old red nose will be too happy about the pending court judgement in october that could lead to a jail sentance for perjury. the papers havent had it so good for ages!

George, mate,
That was priceless, you should be a polictician, you have completely sidestepped my question. What do you think of your new Manager with no CL experience? That 13 million quid could be the biggest waste of money since....... you paid us the same amount for John Obi Mikel, who never even kicked a ball for us. Sometimes the close season can be a bit boring but you at Chelsea are certainly keeping everyone entertained and just think City have not even started with their nonsense yet. Wait till they start spraying 27 million pound bids all over the shop for shite players, then we can all have a real belly laugh.
By the way, Giggs is staying out of the limelight, he has started reading books instead. He is halfway through the 1st edition of loving relationships penned by John Terry.
Cheers, DakeyÂ

Dave,
After being snubbed by the average Udinese winger and then Mancini saying he was dropping out of the race to save face and despite paying the highest wages, the question must be, will you find anyone of decent quality to agree to join your little outfit? The transfer clock is ticking and we at O/T are having to fight them off with a stick, I wonder why they all want to join us in preference to anybody else? It cant be the money as we are skint, are we not? It must be the endless supply of silverware!
Cheers, Dakey
