Thanks Chaddy,
I was beginning to get lonely with just me and Kev gloating every week. One thing i have learned about this thread is you fellas that support other teams tend to go a bit quiet when all is not rosy in the garden. That is with the exception of us reds and I mean both Utd reds and also the gunners lads who despite continually being kicked in the teeth still pipe up with their share of posts. It is around this sort of situation where I usually start a stream of derogatory posts to try and tempt the morally bankrupt club fans to participate. Just wait until next week if the bitters pull off a miracle and beat us, you wont be able to get near this thread for blue shite.

If the bitters manage to get another lucky win against us then it will be less of a problem as we have some buffer between us. However, if we win and move 6 points clear of them they may have a problem. They are at home so the pressure is on them big time. How anyone can't beat us is a miracle - Fergie may as well drrop the back 4 and play another 4 strikers.
Fortunately I was out Saturday so didn't have to sit through the crazy game and just caught the highlights.
Is Jay still with us 'cos I'm concerned about him after the weekend?

I watched the full game and I was mortified by the defending, but especially Evans in particular. The old adage of "White men cant jump" sums him up perfectly. I have said it before, he is a good footballer on the ground but for heavens sake he calls himself a centre half and they have to be able to jump, head the ball and mark a man and he cant do any of those anything like well. When I saw Smalling warming up to come on I was certain it would be a straight swap as Evans was at fault for all three goals. To take young Rafa off was a joke decision and left us with four centre backs on the field, no wonder the fluidity went west.
On the plus side, three of the goals as far as team goals go were right out of the top drawer and were a joy to behold, but with our defending this year, I just cant call the derby this week, we could well get 4 or 5 and concede 6 again, but whatever, I cant wait for weekend to come along.

Went on the march with about 2000 disgruntled old skool gooners and you'll not be suprised to hear it was the hi-light of the day.
The Arsenal are in as worse a place that I have seen them since 1994-95 season. We lack right accoss the board. The players are mostly techniclly good enough (Gervinhno excluded) but there is a lack of beleif and desire and the until the confidence is restored some how we are going to see pretty much the same.
As for the march and demonstration, the intention and desire of the fans is commendable but as we got closer the stadium the first thing we saw as it cameinto view was the centre tiered glass external elevation which was full of £3000.00 a year season ticket paying new breeds sipping on their rose!!!! It dawned on me yet again that what we hanker for is long long gone never to be seen again.
I came home and promptly put my ticket against West brom on the ticket exchange scheme and the club offered me a paultry £22 for it as it is cat C game!!! I don't expect them to sell it :(

Just at the moment as Jay and I have been saying all season the spark and grit is missing from our lads and it sickens me to see my team perform week in and out with such lack luster hearts.
At least we made it out of the CL league stages maybee we will be this years Chelski Crap in the league and Fluke the CL we can only hope.
Again please dont knock me for saying your lot keep getting away with it as the mark of a good side is to win when playing badly and you aint bad at that.
I think with City having another CL disgrace it will make their title challenge strong as having to play reserves in the european losers cup IF THEY EVEN MAKE THAT!!!!!!!!! so they will have 36 rested superstars on huge money only having to play once a week..

Your club is forever, now is just for now. I quite like the financial model being employed by Arsenal. Can you imagine the Board presentation to Arsen a few years back:-
''Look Arsen, we're beginning to struggle to compete with the big boys, this stadium just cannot generate the revenue so we have two choices
1) Borrow a pile of cash and spend it on big name players/wages now and win a few trophies for a few years, feel great for a couple of years, give the fans something to shout about. This is Mr Risdale's idea
2) Borrow a pile of cash to invest in a fantatsic new stadium that can generate significant revenue, albeit in the first few years we'll need to use that revenue to pay off the massive debt, but once we've done that we can allocate it all to you to buy players/pay wages etc
I'd give it a couple more years, get that debt down, sign the new sponsorship agreements, only then have a real moan if the club doesn't start spending large, right now the financial model they're working on could reap some pretty big rewards in a couple of years time, so careful what you wish for.
In the meantime I agree, the Prem is ours bar the shouting .............

The 36 rested superstars on mega money at the bitters..... they are just the ones out on loan what about the 50 odd in the present squad?
I see Arsen has come out today and said because they are through already he will play a very weak team tonight..... that is a commendable attitude sending out his full strength team!!
Shampers mate, you know where it is going this year, there isnt even anything to debate.

thanks for trying to lift the hurt... we know all the finances etc just need to start to see the rewards for running our club proper unlike some!!!!!!!
I think your right the loaners at the Blue side are still prob costing City more in wages than our squad...
Still nice to have the week off when results do not matter but being the last week of CL football we are used to it!
Last post good luck to Celtic their performances in Europe have deserved qualification a little more luck and they would be through already.

Where do I start..... Smashed by dortmunds reserves, not a sniff of a win in SIX games, the worst, abject, dismal paltry showing of any English team ever in European football.... and on and on and on.......
UKIP have just announced they have dropped their campaign for a referendum on staying in Europe. Nigel Farage said " we dont need one now, tomorrow we are going to change our name to Manchester City and we will be out of Europe in the blink of an eye"
The final embarrasment was with 3 minutes to go and dortmund brought on the mascot, I have never seen a younger looking footballer in my life!

Am i right in thinking that SAF's record in the European Cup is 1 win every 10 attempts? Well that gives us 8 more chances to match that fantastic record

The great ones 2 CL and 2 World club cups has been achieved under the present CL format where it is relatively easy to qualify and a hell of a lot harder to win as ALL the best teams inEurope are in it unlike the old champions only format where there was only ever 3 or 4 good teams in it. It is fair to say that if we were playing under the old format our 12 premier titles would have seen us smash Liverpools 5 european cups out of the water and we would be stood at about 8 or 9 now. The simple fact is that the richest squad ever assembled have utterly failed to get out of the group stages twice and that my friend did not happen to the great man in his first two attempts.
