Excellent Dakey

Dzeko tries a nice ploy to wind some of you tv watchers up and who bites????? My old mate Dakey.

What an articulate and handsome young man he seems. Some might say his good looks are in contrast to the other mingers he'll be playing up front with ha ha or is that not a politically correct statement.

Gutted Ballotelli has same knee problem.

Just read Martin Tyler column on sky website. The lowest ever away win percentage in a season by the champions has been 47%. Your lot currently have an away win percentage of 22%. Not this year mate.

Watch and enjoy  Dave

Dave mate,

I am glad you have mentioned Martin Tylers website as you must also have seen the bit of fun he had with the league table for the whole of 2010. I am sure you will have noticed that Utd are 5 points clear of Chelsea with a game in hand and a country mile in front of everyone else with the amount of games spanning 36 to 39 depending on the club. We have won the most games, lost the least and have the best goal difference. During that time,as now, City were the richest club in the world and have spent by far the most money with nothing yet to show for it. When exactly are your team of overpaid superstars going to overtake our bunch of debt ridden average [your words] players? Oh and by the way another way to look at that away game statistic is  " not lost an away league game" percentage = 100%.

Nice to hear from you again Dave anyway, keep them coming.

cheers, Dakey

Sir Alex Ferguson is planning to rest his star performer Howard Webb to prevent 'a needless injury' after his tireless work in the weekends FA Cup victory over Liverpool . Webb awarded his own side a penalty, but he stood aside to allow a team mate to take it.

Mr Webb who secured his team's passage into the 4th round of the FA cup is said to be 'exhausted' following his Herculean efforts in providing his side with the winning goal by awarding them a 'completely deserved' penalty after Liverpool's Daniel Agger 'viciously kicked Berbatov in the head with a knife'.

Man United's 12th man Howard Webb, whose dressing room locker is right next to Rio Ferdinand's, said: "Yeah, it's a massive win for the me and the lads. The gaffer told us all in his pre-match talk to get in their faces, and work hard for each other. He reminded me to wait at least an hour before giving us a penalty or it could look suss, but I was just too excited and went for it a few seconds after I blew the starting whistle, however, I did wait a little longer than usual to send Stevie G off, to make up for it.

"I was thinking about taking the penalty myself, but then thought I should let one of the other lads take the glory for a change. It's a team sport after all, and I get embarrassed when people tell me I single-handedly win all the games I get picked to play in."

However, his boss, Alex Ferguson is concerned that if he continues playing his star man in every game he'll pick up a serious injury or may get exhausted towards the business end of the season.

"Howard's a great servant to the club, " said Sir Alex. "And he's a real role model for the younger lads. He's always first on the training pitch in the morning and the last to leave. He practices pointing at the spot, and sending opponents off for hours on end. But I fear if he carries on at the same intensity he'll pick up an injury that could see him out for months.

"And that's a risk we can't take. He's just too important for us, his ratio of games played to penalties given is almost one per match, which are amazing stats."

Manchester United's club shop has just released its sales figures which indicate that 'Howard Webb' is now the most requested name on the back of their replica shirts, and that if his popularity grows they may be forced to rename the Stretford End in his honour by changing it to the 'Massive-Bell End', or MBE for short.

Nice one Chaddyowl, you cant blame Webb for getting his priorities right, I mean Mike Dean has hardly featured since his decisions handed Chelsea the title last season. These refs have to realise they will not be invited back if they upset Fergie.

Seriously though, If Agger had not put in an attempt to play the ball when he had no chance of getting the ball, Berbatov would not have had the chance to fall over, something that every striker in the league now does. I am not even going to comment on Gerrards tackle as that was a straight red whichever way you look at it. Players have been sent off this season for lunging in like that and they have got the ball. Gerrard was nowhere near the ball with his studs up, that is a no brainer for any ref.

Cheers Dakey

I'm quite looking forward to the Merseyside derby this weekend though to be honest if Liverpool keep going the way they are this match will soon be like the Blackburn - Burnley derby ie, inconsequential teams !! Can't hide my disapointment at Everton's season so far, (BUT THAT HAS BEEN OFFSET BY DELIGHT AT THE PREDICAMENT OF THE TEAM ACROSS STANLEY PARK - WHAT A LAUGH THAT IS) but we have no dosh and no goals coming from the so called strikeforce. Maybe now we have offloaded the Yak we can get someone in to help out. Upside is our performances to date v MAN U, MAN C, CHELSKI, & SPURS (Arsenal our bogey so far). Maybe we can salvage something and we have an easy home game in the next round of the cup.

What a delight Blackpool and Ian Holloway have been, hope they stay up but I'll be a Goodison with my Condado mates in a couple of weeks to hopefully see us take 3 much needed points off them.

Dave,

I see your class is surfacing yet again, after just spending another 27 million on another untried striker with one good season behind him, your manager immediately declares his interest in Gareth Bale to unsettle him. The FA must get involved as Bale has said he is happy to stay at spurs for life.

Dont you get it, Eufa are now monitoring clubs and you have to live within earned income or you will be banned from European football. It is obvious you cannot pay these transfer fees and top wages on your football income, so where is the extra coming from. I keep hearing that the land around Eastlands will be developed to earn extra, but what can be built to attract extra people? It cannot be football related as you are already failing abysmally on that score. Non football things are limited as it is hardly the Kings Road. One thing that might pay are suicide towers for after the matches as your already depressed fans finally realise that even money is not going to buy you success.

Nice to see you back Jeb

Cheers, Dakey

Bale would be poor at City.  He'd make one of his trademark runs and look around and find the rest of the team still back in their own half!!

Until City calm down and stop buying every player who is available any player going there can't be confident of a spot for more than a season.  To date they seem to have gotten decent players but have had to pay way over the odds in both transfers and salaries.  Aside from Tevez I'm not sure any of them have been worth the money so far.

Looking forward to the Spurs game this weekend...hope we play with freedom and spread the ball quickly.  Man Utd are definitely much better organised in defence so we need to open the game up and attack fast as thats when we're at our best.  Dakey, after Sunday you may be wishing Bale had already gone to City!!

Shane,

After Sunday, young Gareth might be wishing he could come to Utd!

I have to agree with you I am looking forward to Sunday as any time teams from the top five meet, especially Utd Arsenal and Spurs it is usually highly entertaining. The one exception to that is the latest cure for insomnia, City. If you want a war of attrition instead of entertainment go and watch City. Bale would be mad to even consider it, he would feel that he had fell into a barrel of tits and come up sucking his thumb!

Dave, mate

Congratulations on making the summit at last, God knows we have given you enough cracks at it by playing later than you. Congratulations also on the gate of 46,600, only 1200 below capacity, so you are getting there. If we beat Spurs tomorrow that will be a really difficult away game out of the way on a weekend when all the pretenders have won games they are expected to win for a change. If we lose it makes it a bit more interesting although we will still have a bit of breathing space.

I am gutted though as I am on a Oil platform in the Norwegian sector and they dont have premier league football, so I cant watch the match, I will have to rely on you lads for a summary tomorrow night.

Cheers Dakey

Dave, Shane and Fellas,

Managed to catch the game thanks to a kind radio operator who sent it onto a channel in my room, dont ask me how but he did it.

We have just witnessed why we will go on to take the title back, despite all Spurs obvious ability and pace and a generous hand for the last 20 minutes by Mr ABU Dean, Van der Sar never had one shot to save in the entire game, he was busy with crosses etc, but our defence was magnificent yet again and that will be the deciding factor, we can grind it out better than the rest. The only cloud on the horizon is with raphael banned, Fergie might be tempted to give Neville another crack and that could be costly, heaven forbid. On that display I fancy Spurs to pip Chelsea for 4th but they need to put a string of wins together. By the way, despite it being reported that our away form is crap, that is 15 away games in the league unbeaten, just thought I would throw that one in.

Cheers, Dakey

Think both teams at the end couldn't be too unhappy.  If one or other had taken one of the quite a few chances I think the game may have opened up a bit more.

But I have to say the defences did a good job today and some days thats gonna happen.

Seems when a Manchester team arrives at the Lane the normal freescoring games just disappear.  We've only had about 4 clean sheets in the season and 2 of them against City and Utd.

Not the worst result but Spurs need to back it up with a couple of wins to keep the pressure on for a top 4 spot.

Dave,

I would think that you, as an avid fan of both Britains exponents of Anti football, Rangers and City and having watched 26 minutes of yesterdays game and putting aside your blue bias, 26 minutes would have been all you could stand as you would already have experienced multiple orgasms. I seem to remember your excuse for camping in your own half against Utd and Arsenal as "dont lose to the other top teams and beat the rest and you wont be far away". Given that logic as we have beat both Spurs and Arsenal already and also drawn with Spurs and City then that is why we are ahead of schedule. As a team going for its 12th title in 19 years, or more recently its 4th title in 5 years, I think we have got a decent idea of what is required and sometimes flowing football has to go out of the window and you have to get down and dirty among the muck and nettles. If we win the title by 1 point come May it will be that 20 minutes away to spurs with 10 men that has won it us as much as smashing 7 past Blackburn at Old Trafford.

I have just been weighing up the fixtures leading up to the Derby in February and although you can never tell we seem to have a run of favourable fixtures compared to everyone else at the top. You also play Birmingham and Villa but yours are away while ours are at home, so ,touch wood, we could have a nice little lead built up by then which would allow us to relax a bit and give you the spanking you deserve.

Cheers, Dakey

I can't complain too much...Utd really only needed to make sure they didn't lose while we needed the win that little bit more.

Will be interesting to see how things develop over the next 6-7 games.

I have a feeling City will drop a few points and Arsenal will be the ones chasing Utd for the title.

Would not Be Surprised if City drop to 4th.

Hello Boys

Well well well, if only crouch had his scoring (good touch for big man) boots on!! Think Sp*rs shaded it and should of really taken the 3 points but 2 points dropped by UTD means it's as tight a race as it has been all season. I think it's up for grabs and any one of three now could win it, but probably not the Newham hotspurs now.

Looks like the the games between the top 5 sides are gonna be critical in deciding where it ends up and the date that's looming large for me is 30th April  when it could well be a right ole knee's up down Upper Street and the  Holloway Road!

RVP is just getting back into the groove and if Fab can raise it a notch with Nasri playing the way he's playing we're gonna be there all the way. All that's needed is for Arsene to go spend some money on a tough centre half and the puzzle will be complete. Vermaelen's injury has been the reason we've had  shaky perfomances at the back this year and that lack of cover needs addressing. I'm optimistic.

Bring on Leeds...... it's coming thick and fast now.

Jay
