Look guys...

Okay, I agree City have some very good players and have the potential to be a good team and big club. The champions this year will definitely come from City, Utd or Spurs. I think it's hard to see which one at this point. Does that stop me from wanting to hang some bait in the water to get some bites? No - there's enough winding up coming from the sudden glut of City supporters who have appeared from nowhere to give me the right to reply!

Your comment on any away win being a good result is bang on and City fans will no doubt echo what we say - if we're lucky and win every game 1-0 to win the title then who cares!

Great stuff - I'm putting my red tinted specs on again now !!!!

Fellas,

Out of the corner of my eye, I just watched the highlights of Pakistan smashing England in the cricket test at the Etihad Stadium...... At least it looked like the Etihad, large stadium, masses of empty blue seats! yes it must have been.

Was it the second half of the game? did it look like 60,000 people might have left? are you sure the seats weren't red?

Dave,

Didnt see anyone leaving the game early the other week..... oh, except Kompany that is!

The trick Dave is to get the fans into the ground in the first place, then they can vote with their feet if they are not happy with whats on offer, just as Arsenal fans have been doing for years. They do, however get 60,000 turn up initially. I think you need to concentrate on reaching the 48,000 capacity on a regular basis then concentrate on playing the football to keep them interested. To date you have not managed to do either.

Dave,

I know its not football related, but they have just found two of your fellow Scotsmen in the bar area of the stricken Italian cruise liner. They have refused to come up with the rescuers stating that they are" all inclusive" and still have eight days left!

Tony,

I think the games are that close to call everyone is keeping a low profile so as not to jinx their respective teams. No such inhibitions post game though, so I look forward to those exchanges. Hopefully!

Dakey,

I'll have to back Utd against Arsenal...don't want to even give them a sniff of catching us.

And I give Spurs a good chance against City.  While we have nothing to lose City does and it will be interesting to see the attitude of the two teams.  I think both teams would take a draw but a loss wouldn't hurt us as much so I see Spurs going for the win.

Be very interested to see if Harry plays Defoe up front by himself (with VDV behind).  Gives a pacey attack along with Bale and Lennon (I exclude VDV as pacey!!).

Been awhile since Super Sunday has seemed to live up to its name.

Shane,

The Emirates will be bouncing and packed. It always is when two sets of London fans are involved(sic) It will seem a bit surreal at the Etihad for you boys though as I expect your end to be packed and enthusiastic just like the Liverpool fans, but the rest of the ground half empty and subdued just like the Liverpool game. I know though, that Dave will cite the 'fact' that the away team has not sold their allocation as the reason for a below capacity turn out. He has a point, in the Semi Final against Liverpool the scousers did return 10,000 of the 30,000 tickets they were allocated!

If City don't get going quickly the crowd will be quiet (not just because there's only a handful there!)...they will be so nervous that the dream of the league title could be slipping away.  Every win is probably more a relief than an enjoyment!

Just watched Norwich scrap out a creditable draw against Chelsea. It shows they have come a long way in a short space of time, but now they have to step it up and try and do it against one of the big teams!

Fellas,

It has just dawned on me, what with all the players City have either out on loan or just refusing to turn up etc, in this year of record breaking achievements ( Daves words, not mine). If they do manage to nick the title they will be the first team in history to do it with more players than supporters!!

just a thought

Dakey,

Just saw the results and again have been pleasantly surprised.

It seems that whenever Spurs drop points all the chasers seem to implode and that might continue this weekend.  Everyone was saying wait until you hit your hard run of games gainst the top teams and the pack will catch up.  Well we haven't even played and Liverpool and Chelsea have already floundered and Newcastle got hammered (wasn't too surprised by that).

If Arsenal don't pick up 3 points I'd have to say not a bad weekend for Spurs no matter what our result is.  And what a bonus it would be if we can knock off the league leaders.  I'm sure you'll be supporting us for that one!!

Shane,

Goes without saying mate, goes without saying. If harry is a bit brave and puts two up top against Citys' weak spot, Lescott and Savic, then coupled with your fast wide men I would tip you to nick it provided your defence is on it from the off. Good luck anyway.

As for our game, I made some valid points last week about Henry not being the same player having lost some of his pace, comments that Neil got a bit miffed with. So thats it then Henry to score the winner after out pacing our defenders! and if that happens I will really have to learn to reign in my tongue.

I am offshore at the moment and I have been racking my brains on how I could get the afternoon off to watch the footie when out of the blue I have been asked to go on nights on an emergency job so I will get to bed about 6.00am and just set the alarm for 1.00 pm and bingo all the afternoon footie. There is a god after all.

Cheers, Dakey

Going today with my lad. Not really sure how I feel after last weeks debacle. Swansea played some very nice football but penalty apart both the other goals were preventable. We are very weak in defence without Vermaellen but our main problem is Song. He just won't do what he's supposed to do, namely sit in front of the back four and defend. He's got delusions of grandeur and thinks he's some kind of midfielding maestro al la Brady or kruyff. He's not.....he's main responsibility is to sit in front of the back four in the holding role and let the other midfielders do their thing. If he'll do that today we might be a little more solid and may even bring down Dakey and Kev's mob. I do think we can undo utd's defence but can we keep out utd's attack??? As for Citeh vs sp*rs I suppose the draw favours everyone else but if there was way that I could engineer a 22 man brawl kicked off by the chinless under performer and the other Citeh employee Adepaymore resulting in a 6 point reduction for both teams then that would be lovely. Enjoy the day fellas and I hope it's banged out the club Neil.

Cheers

Jay

Jay,

Adebayor would have to start it from the stands as I doubt he'll be playing...as City probably still pay more of his wages than Spurs!!

If Spurs win I'll maybe even back your lot in the 2nd game.

Funny what you say about Song...wonder why you went for Arteta etc and not someone like Parker who knows what he's supposed to do and does it bloody well. Leaves the others to the fancy stuff.

How about a 3-3 draw for you? Henry and Scholes with hatricks!!

Adepaymore could start a ruck in an empty room in a monestry. Arteta did not play last week and RVP apart he'd be my player of the season so far as he too does the simple things well as well as having the necessary craft when required. Parker is a good player and he'd of slotted in well anywhere. He's English and I think that's a point for signing him because I really still feel the foreign player balance is still wrong at our club. It's an English league and all the existing winners of the premiership to date have had the correct balance of home grown UK based players and foreign players. That fact is indisputable and until Arsenal get that balance right I for one don't think much will improve.

On another subject completely a very good friend of mine who's a ticket holder down the hole says that Harry is definitely out after Capello leaves any thoughts on that. I'll think he'll do a great job for England if he's not too busy being incarsarated.

Fellas,

Normally after a win at the Emirates that keeps us on track at the top I would be enthusing about the game and the key performers, but apart from saying that I think we just about deserved it in a tight game, I dont want to talk about football, I want to express my utter despair and anger at what Mr Webb allowed to go on at the Etihad. First of all I am gutted for Spurs who deserved something for that display, but Webb has to explain to everyone why City were not reduced to nine men following Lescotts forearm smash on Kaboul that he did not think was even a free kick! and Ballotellis' cowardly stamp on Parkers head. The fact that he was on the pitch to score the winner is the biggest travesty of justice I have ever encountered on a football field.  The sooner the lunatic is banned from Football altogether the better for everyone. Gary Neville called it absolutely correct when he said that if Webb saw the stamp and thought it warranted no action then he should never refferee again at any level. If he did not see it, he has to say so in his report then the FA can take retrospective action using the video evidence.

That brings me to the punishment. Some years ago Thatcher, funnily enough also a City player, was banned for 8 matches for forearm smashing Mendes into the hoardings. In my Humble opinion deliberately stamping on someones head is ten times as bad and should be treated accordingly. The FA should convene a meeting, look at the video and ban Ballotelli for the rest of the season as an example to everyone else, although I am struggling to identify another player who would commit such a dangerous and cowardly act. That is what should happen, but lets wait and see shall we and dont you blues even try and come on here and defend the indefensible, the sooner that nutter leaves English football the better for everyone!

Cheers, Dakey
