thats what its all about boys, up against a good Bolton side down to 10 men and then pull it out of the fire at the death. good comeback by the gunners but its not going to be enough.
I am also a bit surprised that Liverpool went out to braga as that is the type of team they have made their reputation against in the old european cup format when the competition only had about 4 good teams in it.
A good 2 week break now to get some defenders fit and then onwards to the treble!

Looking at the 109 million pound loss Utds parent compny suffered last year, inc the massive interest payments has just reminded me, not that I needed reminding, just what a fantastic job Fergie has done in the last six years keeping us not only competitive but at the pinnacle. Something else has just dawned on me, we are just about to embark on a series of fixtures against two teams that have unashamedly and brazenly spent nearly 1 Billion pounds between them trying to get onto the top table. One has almost suceeded and one is still miles away. the point is, we can end both their seasons stone dead and I think that actually they have become more hated than we are and most neutral fans would love us to do it. Am I right fellas, let me know what you think.

I know it is an international break but where has everyone gone, I can understand Dave keeping a low profile as he has absolutely nothing to shout home about and must be feeling quite suicidal at the moment. Everyone else must have an opinion on how things are going, good or bad and it would be interesting to hear some opinions and stir up the debate, come on fellas get it going. Even Dave, if you are so fed up with your bunch of clowns I can point you in the right direction regarding a season ticket for O/T next year. just bite the bullit and do it, you will thank me for it later I promise.

I will have to keep this thread going on my own, because it looks like us Man U fans are the only ones left with anything to shout about. 7 games to go and no one with the bottle or ability to mount a serious challenge. I will hold off commenting for a while if Dave, Jay, George etc etc want to start a lively debate about the fight for the runners up spot. Do you know, looking at it I think you will all struggle to reach the points total we actually have now! Not even Chelseas' resident refereeing panel can affect it now. We can start debating the upcoming cup games if you like, while some of you are still in it, ( but that means we will have to lose Jays input) I suppose the Beau Brummies could join in more now that they are fully paid up members of the winners clan.
Come on fellas, come out to play. Dave, I have known you a long long time and I have never managed to render you speechless despite my every effort. Could it be that your poxy club has finally worn you down to the point of surrender?

Hiya Dakey
Been a bit busy lately over in Spain for a few days and got a sore injury in Kiev but well on the mend. You'll have enjoyed the weekend no doubt. Saw bits of match of the day last night and have no idea how you beat those poor cheated "ammers". Another red ref performance.
Hopefully Rooney will get a 4 gamer for his outburst. The only word anyone could make out was F*** the rest was scouse gargley noises. Obviously he's still hating playing for your lot and doesn't get on attall with the old baconmeister.
Very good performance from all 14 of our lot today. Still lookin forward to the run in,but gutted to be out of europe. I was enjoying the trips. Back over at Condado on Good Friday, the course looks great just now. Oh for a club house.
Don't suppose you know anyone remotely near the Manchester area thats off to wembley to watch in your end. I don't know anyone myself. Lookin forward to it.

citydave you cant be serious when you say that man usa had a refering decision go their way. in the history of our gracious king fergie this has never happened. except of course the blackpool game as well (which would have made it 3-0) and the neville sisters sending of which never happened. so thats 9 points less and of course a proper title challenge as well as countless others . but of course we arent allowed to mention them as good king fergie is always right and must never be corrected.
as for rooney. well he is a thug that the fa seem scared of.he shouldnt have been on the pitch after that right arm smash (after which he scored against chelsea but luckily the best team one on the day)however dont ever expect any graciousnes in defeat.they will blame everyone but themselves and never ever admit they were beaten by a better team. after all they are the current holders of the milk cup.
cu at condado at easter mate-would be nice to see dakey there as well so we can whip his arse at golf

Thats right Fellas, when you have nothing to get excited about on the field just trot out the old chesnuts about Utds fans and Referees favouring us. I mean West Hams second penalty proves the point, it was miles inside the area wasnt it? not! Putting aside the fact that we have almost certainly won it again for the fourth time in five years, despite being skint, I can see an exciting run in for the rest of you trying to secure the automatic Champions league places. People go on about finishing in the top four, but the fourth place team could be faced with a tricky qualifier and no one wants that surely.
I dont know if you are aware Dave, that my local pub, the Gardeners Arms on sandy lane ( which used to be a north manchester venue of the man city supporters club) has got a coach going to Wembley, all Man Utd fans, a pattern repeated all over the area. I am sure that some of you will be going despite the impending disappointment, but its a big new stadium to fill especially when your own little loaned stadium is half full every week. Enjoy the day anyway, it does not come round that often for you.

Thats goodnight Vienna for 'diamond geezer' Harrys lot and surprisingly, Inter as well. As well as the Germans played that must put a spring in the step of Utd and Chelsea as the path to the final becomes wider for one of us. Glad to see Martin Atkinson was given a run out by Eufa at the San Siro, how fitting that the birthplace of football corruption plays host to our most corrupt official! At least he cant get back in time to help Chelsea out tomorrow, they are just going to have to try and win without him on this occasion. Putting that to one side, I am looking forward to a pulsating two legs and, honestly, may the best team come out on top without any controversy.

Yes we got well and truly stuffed by Real Madrid last night. Madrid are a class side and it was going to be a tough ask to start with.
But you certainly don't want to lose a key player just before the start, leak a goal in the first 5, and have your striker sent off within 15 minutes.
Real were taking shots at will and for awhile Spurs were doing a decent job at keeping them out. But you do tire when down to ten men and it was always going to me a matter of time. Just what you want to see when you are out on your feet...someone like Kaka coming on as a sub.
Pressure off for the return leg and I expect Spurs to be looking at exiting the comp with a good performance.

dakey dont ever say utd dont get the rub of the green. evra off and a penalty for all to see tonight. and as at sb a month ago your goalie was your m.o.m. you were hanging on at the end mate and i hope that continues next week.
On saturday no way was it a pen to utd and vidic should have walked. and wetshams was a pen as it was on the line and that counts as in the box dont you know.

Lol. What a great performance and tactics from the master. Cheat Terry and his band of thugs at last get what they deserve without their mate Atkinson to help them out. If the ref had got the balls they'd have been down to nine without Essien and Ramires after their late challenges. Still it's only half time and I know Cheatsea will push all the boundaries next week. Well done boys!

A few contentious decisions last night, you could have had one or two sent off for studs up early on while the ref was finding his feet and our disallowed goal was just offside, so correct decision there. The evra tackle was a stonewall pen, I agree, but I also agree with Fergie that was the first break we have had against Chelsea for about 7 years so what does it feel like. I know you have got a blue bias, but that is twice on the spin that we have played you off the park at SB. I am not daft enough to think it is over though, I will just settle for my 62 quid back for a Utd win at 21/10. 20 quid well spent I think. Another 20 quid on Tiger at 12/1. This betting lark is like printing money isnt it.
By the way I have played back Vidics challenge at West Ham about 100 times and the tackle was 2" outside the area, but I also accept that the ref, under present rules only has one stab at it while we can all scrutinise it from all angles.
just to finish, I look forward to 15 suspensions per game once they ban Rooney today for swearing, you could not make that up could you? its trial by media now.

you cant keep on sacking managers just because you cant get up to our level. instead, just enjoy your 851 million pound battle with the bitters for runners up spot in the league and just be happy to pick up a few scraps that we leave along the way.

The best team did win and i have just changed my mind on the penalty decision. i have just watched it again sober on Sky sports News and the journalist has just pointed out that the start of Evras tackle was a yard outside the box and finished in the box and the slow motion confirms it., so all Chelsea were denied was a free-kick not a penalty. Have a look yourselves lads.

Dave, I see you have got the FA INDEPENDANT Panel fighting in your corner, There is not one single player past or present, professional or amatuer, who has not at some point swore at fellow players, referees, fans, cameras etc etc. The one thing unique about Rooney is that he is the only one I have ever heard apologising for it. No one else gets even a warning letter and Rooney gets a two match ban. Absolute nonsense. He will now miss a really important difficult game... Oh and also the easy gimmee against the bitters at Wembley.

I can't believe they've upheld the ban - they normally reward bad behaviour with the England captaincy! I was expecting Rooney to be named as the new skipper this afternoon...
As for last night's game - strange the radio and TV pundits all thought Utd deserved the victory. Obviously closet reds!
Anyway, need to check on Mr Atkinson's movements next week and ensure he isn't scheduled to be in the Manchester area. He could be Chelsea's big weapon - apparently Torres is considering quitting football to join the GB Olympic diving team (he thinks it might be the only way he can get a medal in England).
