What the game needs is for a Notts Forest or a Leeds Utd (gulp) to come and nick the title, we all know that this is not going to happen, that's one of the reasons that the P/L is so prediclably boring.

Hep,
How can the PL be boring when the bottom club can beat the top club on any given day. no other league has that depth.
You long for the days when smaller clubs like Leeds and Forest could win it....... I dont understand mate, that is exactly what has happened the last two years with Chelsea and City!!

Hep,
What has that got to do with anything? The lower clubs in the PL all give you a competitive game and that doesnt happen anywhere else in Europe and that is why everyone loves the PL.
Just seen the news and that lovely example of humanity Chelsea captain Terry has been caught parking in a disabled bay on the main street. What a guy!! says it all really, no need to add anything.

Dakey,
So the bottom club never beat the top club prior to the Premiership, well that's news to me. You should reflect on your hatred of all clubs that are not Man Utd, best to spend your time brushing up on your general football knowledge, which is very poor. By the way, Ryan Giggs likes to keep his sex life in the larger family, if you wish to discuss personal morals, or perhaps not.

Hep,
You get more incomprehensible by each passing post. I am pointing out the competitiveness of our league, which is actually complimenting other clubs. How do you confuse that with hatred? I have a respect for most clubs in the PL indeed all leagues......apart from a few contrived clubs who you just cannot avoid hating if you are a genuine football lover.
I do owe John Terry an apology, he did not illegally park in a disabled bay, he had half the Chelsea team in the car and looking at this years performances that would be about right. No group of people would deserve that parking spot more.
No wonder we are about to lose CL places watching that abject showing last night by our so called top teams, lets hope we can do something tonight to arrest this English slump.

Dakey,
So it's acceptable for Giggs to screw his brother's wife then, far less damaging than illegal parking. Did you ever watch football when Charlton, Law and Best were playing in the old first division by the way? And if so was the football far inferior to that played in the current P/L?Â

Just a suggestion, but when Liverpool were in their European pomp wasn't their team comprised of mainly players from the British Isles? I can only think of Grobbelaar and Molby that broke the mould, English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish players scared the s**t out of those Euoropean clubs, now British Isles players are an endangered species in the P/L club squads.
As I said 'just a suggestion', I await Dakey's comments, seriously I'm not having a pop. Â Â

Hep,
Football is completely different now as you know, Whether that is for the better is debatable. As far as competitiveness is concerned there is no comparison, in the good old days the midtable and below teams were not at the level of todays teams.
Dont get me started on the old European cup format. There was only ever 4 good teams in the whole competition when it was only the champions who qualified and you could get all the way to the semis without meeting anyone of note. Just look at the opposition Liverpool beat in the years they won it and most of them wouldnt get through the qualifiers these days. It is a simple equation, in the old days it was harder to qualify to play in it and then much simpler to win it. These days it is easier to qualify for it and much much harder to win as once the groups are out of the way then the top dozen or more teams in europe are still in it.

Dakey,
I'm a great believer in that anything as prestigious as the European Champions Cup should be hard to win, otherwise it wouldn't be worth winning, how can a club that hasn't won their nations top league be classed as champions?   Â

No argument from me on that one Hep. It shouldnt be called the Champions League, it should be called "the much harder to win best team in europe competition" and then it would be clear. A comp where all the champions only are in it and there are only 4 good leagues gets you 4 good teams and doesnt get you the best team. A comp where the 4 top teams qualify from the 4 best leagues means at least 16 top teams are in it and therefore much harder to win. Simple really. Oh and by the way, all the champions still get to play in it but the lower rated champions have to get through qualifying rounds so no Champion is denied a chance to enter.

I have a large negative about the Premiership because of one man who's name is Sir David Richards. Sir Dave, as he likes to be known, was chairman of Sheffield Wednesday from 1989 to 1999, in which time he borrowed on behalf of the club circa £35million from the co-operative bank. He was very adept at this as he had earlier been a director of several companies that he led into administration or saw them wound up, which but for Milan Mandaric coming to the rescue almost happened to SWFC. He also famously refused to erect a plaque in rememberence of the Liverpool 96 who perished in the Hillsborough Disaster.
Would anyone in their right mind trust this complete plonker to oil the spring on a pogo stick, let alone with the chairmanship of the Premier League? Â

David Moyes's win ratio was better than Matt Busby's during his first spell as manager at 52.94%, I guess that he was just very unlucky.

Stats heps, we have them for everything these days. Moyes was unlucky in the fact that his lack of ability took the reigning Champions to 7th place and out of Europe so he had to go. Mind you he did get us to the CL quarter final.
If you stop and think about it on that statistical ruler Audrey has never reached the CL quarters so he would have to be binned at City and the Special one has taken the reigning champions to a lot lower than 7th and upset his entire medical and other staff at the same time. so he is on borrowed time as well.
Bloody Hell, when I look at it in comparison to those two Moysie was a genius!

I have just seen the combined current Utd/Arsenal team selected by Arsenal legend Paul 'magic man' Merson on Sky prior to the crunch game tomorrow. He has selected 8 Utd players and 3 Arsenal players. I thought to myself "this man knows his stuff" until I read his match prediction of an Arsenal win. How much do sky pay this clown? whatever it is, it is too much

Actually Dakey the correct answer is that a good win ratio is no good without a good draw ratio, despite winning 27 he only drew 9 whilst losing 15.Â

I wonder what odds I'd get on Chelsea visiting the bottom three this season, having said that I wouldn't back against them finishing in the top six.
