Empty seats in a stadium where they've gone out and bought a big shiny trophy. It is not football as we know and love it. City are good players and a good team but a classless club with no heart. Looking forward to another disaster in the CL when the FFP sanctions are applied, eh Chavvy? Hobson's choice but better they win it than the Scousers with the cheating Number 7. I can already hear them bleating on - I wonder who they can blame their latest cock up on?

come back when either of you have won 21!

Kev,

We are stuck between a rock and a hard place mate, if City blow it Liverpool win it, a nightmare scenario whichever way it goes. That is the title (probably) stuck in Manchester for the last four years which is no mean feat (Utds two by 20 points clear and Citys probably by a maximum of 2 points clear) Although unlike Villa tonight who didnt have anyone up front Andy Carrol might get a few nerves jangling if he gets up a head of steam on Sunday.

Just looking at Van Gaals record of title wins, not at all shabby and he sounds excited by the challenge of managing the Worlds biggest club. Those were his words not mine and seeing how he has managed both Bayern and Barca that is high praise indeed. Cant wait for the new season already.

Dakey

Jay,

Why the empty seats tonight? You can ask that question every City home game and the answer is that there are not very many people who follow them and if you look at their history the fact that they manage to attract 40,000 gates is a miracle. God knows which idiot decided to extend the ground, now that is going to look really silly when that happens.

20 teams in the PL, remind me Chaddy how many have been found guilty of cheating? answers on the back of a postage stamp please! That must make you very proud. I prefer to be proud of another club who have reduced a debt imposed on them of £715 million down to £351 million in just nine years, but at the same time have won 5 titles and the CL and not a single penny peice of owners money anywhere in sight. That is a proper club and the FAs fit and proper persons committee should hang their heads in shame both for allowing the Glazers to buy us but also for allowing City to cheat their way to the top without sanction.

City only club nowhere near agreement with UEFA apparently. "Speaking in March, Uefa's general secretary Gianni Infantino said FFP rules had been introduced to stop "greed, reckless spending and financial insanity".". City on all counts - GUILTY, GUILTY, GUILTY. That club is exactly what UEFA are trying to stop in order to give the game back to the people. Get stuck in!

Pity thats all you have to spout about and not about the magnificent attacking football City have played scoring 100 PL goals along the way.

That is something Man Ure have never acheived in the PL ever!!

Man Ure have become the laughing stock of World Foootball with their dire performances and downright lack of professionalism from there pre-madonna players who think they have a right to win the PL every year. Well girls your time is over and there is a new kid in town who aint going away anytime soon, however the "So called" old school try to get rid of them!!!

You are now not even a worthy challenger anymore after smashing you up home and away, its Liverpool and Chelsea who are the only challenge for us!

Enjoy your time in the wilderness!!!

Its now time to bow down to us and either shape up and challenge us or ship out and SHUSH!!!! wink

Kev,

In all walks of life, we all strive to do the right thing and earn the respect of our peers by example. I cannot imagine a situation where no one respects your achievements because you have cheated your way to whatever success you have and all the back slapping will be between a couple of hundred Stockport based scallies all with dried egg and beans stains spilt down their shirts months ago.

Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has guaranteed supporters the club will finish above rivals Manchester City next season.

Back to the old folks home with the old man, he obviously lost his marbles now coming out with rambling statements like that!!! Ha ha ha ha

There’ll be wild scenes at Southampton, as Manchester United fans invade the pitch, steal the goals and sacrifice Tom Cleverley in utter fury that their “single most hated rivals of all” Liverpool/Man City (cross out whoever finishes second) won “their” league trophy. A tearful Ryan Giggs thanks the fans for his support, before Louis van Gaal is parachuted in with a machine gun, laying waste to the squad and coaching staff barring Robin van Persie, David De Gea and Juan Mata, winning himself a cameo in The Expendables 4 in the process.

Nice one George,

We have lost the title before and accepted it gracefully and come back stronger the following year so watch this space.

Liverpool are already the champions in my eyes as I refuse to accept Citys cheating achievements. Let me expalin why.... Liverpool chose not to break FFP rules and live within their means (which, by the way means up to a £37 million loss) they had the title in their grasp, if they had chosen the path of the bitters could they have purchased the couple of defenders with unearned income to shore up a shakey defence and thus clinch the crown? By the same rule both Arsenal and even Chelsea have had the thing in their grasp and let it slip, could those clubs have chosen the City path? Could Arsenal have added that little touch of steel and class that would have seen them over the line, could Chelsea have purchsed the top striker that would surely have seen the title at the bridge. It is hypothetical as those clubs decided to play by the rules and thus fell by the wayside. The bitters on the other hand posted a massive loss of £150 million over 2 years and that is after employing every tactic in the world to hide the real money spent meaning the real loss is actually over double the reported one. Sticking two fingers up to the rules and the rest of us they have cheated their way to the title just as much as if their entire squad had taken performance enhancing drugs for instance that would have seen the club banned. If our League administrators allow them to keep the spoils of that cheating then we might as well all go to hell in a handcart!

Change the broken record Dakey it's getting rather tiresome now

Also check your facts as the only reason the scouse ain't included in the so called fair play bull is because they ain't been in European competition for some time, the scouse have lost 90 million quid over last 2 years so go figure with your selective memory

Next year they will be included in it though.

Think you need to check ya marble status with our Bobby and get back to the home with him LMFAO

Bit touchy there Chaddy Eh? Liverpool have played Europa league football during the monitoring period and If Liverpool had contravened the limits they would like you be sanctioned in next years competitions and they are not. So the facts remain that you are the only club who has cheated their way to the top and the only one that has been punished and if your owner had not included intellectual property rights payments taken from clubs that he has set up as earned income then your figures would be much worse than the astronomical figures that you have been done for. thus outside of your own little bubble no one gives you any credit.

That was a good little guise setting all those clubs up with his own money and a light bulb moment has just hit me like a brick. Watching the game the other night and seeing the ground half empty it was comical to listen to the announcer once again give a crowd figure of 47,200 and thank everyone for their fantastic support. Now I realise why you are expanding the ground, you have no shame announcing crowd figures when everyone can see they are patently false. You can then announce crowds of 60,000 plus when there is only 35,000 in there and the owner for whom money is no object can pay for 25,000 tickets and put it all down to earned income! The man is a genius.

Financial fair play?

1) Team from Manchester that plays in blue and whose owners have poured many millions into the club are punished by UEFA.

2) Team from quite near Manchester that plays in red and whose owners have hived off many millions from the club escape punishment by UEFA.

Am I the only person who is puzzled by all this?

I think City should politely tell UEFA to f off with FFP and take the whole thing to court, all the way, because I'm convinced UEFA will find they don't have a legal leg to stand on. To my mind FFP is a fundamental restriction of trade, anti-trust, thinly veiled protectionism that seeks only to create a closed shop / an impenetrable cartel at the top, ultimately unenforceable and downright illegal.

To me FFP suits a thoroughly corrupt n rotten UEFA and its paymasters whose own accounts n behaviour in my opinion could not bear the kind of close scrutiny such action would entail. With FFP they have no interest in making anything better for anyone other than themselves.

As they say people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones / don't kick the wotsit cos it flies back in your face! In my eyes UEFA are an enormous pile of wotsit, full of worms who if they persist down this route will inevitably invite close scrutiny of themselves and investigation of huge illegal subsidies and tax breaks and land given by local authorities to the likes of Real Madrid.

Everything comes from the top and to me UEFA stinks, they are bullies rotten to the core. We all know bullies shy from anyone who hits back, anyone who might hurt them, never mind beat seven bells of wotsit out of them, so I''ll be surprised if UEFA don’t back down because if Sheikh Mansour, Paris St Germain et al ever let their legal Rottweilers off the leash they'll tear UEFA apart.

The truth is plain to see Sheikh Mansour has done more for the people of Manchester in the last three years than Manchester United, and their ilk have done for their own in the last thirty. Every football fan is entitled to the same dream.

Something is wrong with FFP if it punishes a regime that is pouring millions into the regeneration of a deprived area of East Manchester.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/brian-reade-column-timid-men-3508594

UEFA chief Michel Platini is currently patting himself on the back for imposing punitive fines on big-spending, nouveau-riche clubs despite most observers seeing his Financial Fair Play as a cynical attempt by a handful of globally-supported elite clubs to ring-fence their wealth.

Meanwhile, he and FIFA president Sepp Blatter encourage the genuine evils in football to fester: Bigots who de-humanise with words, criminals who maim and kill with weapons and the timid men in suits - within and without their organisations - who, through turning blind eyes, protect them.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/10812167/Uefa-and-Michel-Platini-are-missing-the-real-targets-with-their-50-million-fine-for-Manchester-City.html

Where is the £50 million fine for the Glazers for servicing their debts from Manchester United’s revenues? On this evidence, FFP is mere grandstanding.

Dave,

What a rambling pile of shite from someone trying to justify financial cheating, it is laughable. On your point number two are you sugesting that someone is punished for being robbed? Our club can take nothing but credit for continuing to win trophies whilst being hamstrung by a massive debt that the hapless FA allowed to happen. No other club in the world could have achieved what we have with that millstone around our necks and not a rich owner anywhere to bail us out.

As for benefiting the community, dont make me laugh The man came in fully expecting to have to buy the stadium but found out that he could rent it for a pittance. so no £500 million shelled out there like Arsenal and others had to do, so £200 million spent on the local area is fine, but that leaves £300 million trousered and considering that there are 2 Utd fans in Manchester to every City fan, 2/3rds of the local population object strongly to have built the stadium with taxpayers money only to rent it off to the bitters.

You are Guilty of CHEATING and the sooner the FA get on board with Eufa then the sooner your horrible little club can sink back into oblivion.
