Mancini has been manager at the bitters for three years and presided over the highest ever spend in that period by any manager ever. There are two trains of thought regarding Mancini, is he a success due to the fact he has bought, sorry brought, a few trophies to a long barren club? or is he an abject failure for not winning more due to his vast outlay? The truth is probably somewhere in between but my point is that Mancini is a very highly paid professional manager who should have a vast insight into the business he is involved in. That takes me on to an interview today where he was questioned about the fact that he may well get the sack for his efforts. Bristling with indignation, he responded by again mentioning the three trophies he had won ( thus confirming his belief that the community shield is a trophy), but he then went on to state that if he were to be sacked then the other 20 premier league managers should be sacked before him. Now I am not a highly paid premier league manager nor am I a city fan, but I do know that there are only another 19 managers in the league not 20! No wonder City are struggling like hell when their top man doesnt even appear to know how many rivals he is competing with! I think the owners will look at that gaffe and almost certainly coupled with a normal barren campaign and decide that it is time for Mancini to move on somewhere else.

Jay, Neil

George has come out from under his stone to try and wind you lads up, but bloody hell doesnt your crackpot manager give him plenty of ammunition! I know it is CL week, but surely it would have been better to go in full strength, hopefully have the game won early and then rest his top players. to lose in both the domestic cups to lower league opposition is really unforgivable and I now think it is time for someone else to take it forward. He is stuck in his ways and wont change now so his times up for me.

Good luck for the Bayern match and it would be just like the gunners to do something special when unexpected. Also and I thought I would never ever say this, but come on Leeds!!

Looks like City are going to squeeze through in the match between two clubs whose glory days are history.

George's Chelski managed to finally get past the mighty Brentford - didn't they make nylons once? Hard to see how he can knock the Gooners based on that!

Hopefully we'll polish Reading off and get drawn against one of these smaller clubs.

It would be godd to see the Arsenal take the Germans next week!

Chaddy,

I thought throwing that little comment in would draw a vitriolic response from you and I wasnt wrong. Of course I didnt mean it, I dislike City for a number of reasons, but I absolutely detest Leeds so no contest there. It was interesting that Mancini played his strongest team possible as the FA Cup is your last chance saloon this year, lets contrast that tomorrow after seeing the possible reserve 11 that Fergie will probably put out in the least important of the three we are going for eh. I will say that there is an opportunity for the bigger teams left in as there are more than a few 'giant killers' in there who have probably gone as far as they could hope for.

If City do end up with yet another barren season it has just dawned on me where the saying "once in a blue moon" comes from!

I thought we had decided no malice Dakey Lad?

As I thought the blues despatched the white rose just as easily as Dick the 3rd was done over 500 years ago and we will probably find Dirty Leeds in a similar position a lot sooner! Lol

Come on Reading ha ha

Chaddy,

After that draw you must be installed as firm favourites now for the FA Cup, lower division teams at home round after round is the way to do it and with Chelsea having to come to O/T ( thats always assuming we both take care of business which is not guaranteed) the path has opened up for you. I know that Chelsea have nothing else to play for ( I dont include the losers euro league in my thoughts) so they will be coming at full strength, but that wont matter as our reserves have already played them off the park for 90 minutes at the Bridge. If the draw is kind we could end up with a manchester final, now wouldnt that be something else!

Kev,

All this growing talk among the media of another possible treble is all pie in the sky for me at the moment. The fact that it has only been done once in the whole history of football shows just how hard it is to do and you also have to have large dollops of luck at vital times to pull it off. Remember 1999 when we were down to ten men, a last minute penalty save and THAT Giggs goal against the gunners. Then being outplayed by Bayern who should have been 5 up before that legendary finale, so no, I wont be joining in the party just yet. Especially while we remain in the CL Sir Alex will continue to play a second string line up in the FA cup, which due to our strength in depth will still be good enough to beat most teams. The draw will be a big factor as well as our last 6 FA cup ties, if Chelsea get through, will all have been against premier league opposition including City, Liverpool and Chelsea. It doesnt come harder than that and with our main rivals, the bitters pulling three lower league teams at home out of the hat in this years comp alone just goes to show how difficult it will be to close out the deal. It wont stop me getting great pleasure out of watching us try though.

Well played Reading, nearly sneaked a draw there at the end. There is something about the way they go about it and the extremely likeable demeanor of the manager that makes you want them to stay up, so good luck with that.

Cheers, Dakey

Its eeking out results like last night that got The Sswampies where they are, it was a dour performance last night which was obvious just by looking at Old Bacon face's chops!!

He may have to change his view about having TWO outstanding teams of internationals at his disposal, I for 1 think he has ONE "A" team of internationals and the other is San Marino standard!

unfortunately I can see David Moyes at Arsenal next season. He is careful with the money which Arsenal will like. Looks like he is ready for a change (stalling on new contract) and Arsenal definitely need a change. We'll miss him but maybe he will leave having won us the FA Cup. I know it's dangerous to count chickens but once we see off stubborn Oldham (all credit they deserved the draw) the route to the semis is there for us with home draw v Wigan - here's hoping.............

Haven't the lower league clubs done really well in the cups this year !

Chaddy,

What other team could make 8 changes against one of the form teams in the premier league and still win at a cantor? bloody hell if Danny Welbeck could shoot straight we would have been 5 up at half time. We will keep rotating and grinding towards our ultimate goal and you keep pulling lower league teams out of the hat and who knows we may even meet in the final!

Dakey,

Despite the media starting to recognise how great a squad Sir Alex has assembled and suggetsing we could get the treble I'm sure we will all keep our feet on the ground. After all, Mancy still thinks City are a good bet for the double so we will have to watch out. For sure, if they keep getting the luck they'll be a threat - look what luck did for Chelski last season!

A great sideshow though in Mancy and Wenger trying to win the award for "the manager most having gone off their rocker". They have both lost the plot completely and Sir Alex hasn't even started the mind games yet.

I can see Mancy at Roma, Wenger at City and Mourinho at Arsenal next year!

Kev,

If the results go our way this weekend it could be all over bar the shouting, ironic isnt it that the to morally bereft clubs will be kicking holes out of each other to stay on our ever vanishing coat tails. We could be the first club ever to play reserve teams in premier league games with so much of the season to go, what was that about the blue moon rising?

I am settling down now to watch what should be a cracker between Arsenal and Bayern. Now Bayern are what you call a formidable German team unlike that other German pretender Dortmund who are 15 points adrift, but were classed as world beaters by the bitters just because they got spanked out of sight.

good luck to the Arsenal, come on you gooners!

Chaddy,

Neil may well be gutted after that showing, but its still better than your sides CL contribution these last two years. As impressive and formidable as Bayern looked it is really difficult at this stage to determine just how good they are. Lets not forget that Arsenal are a shadow of the teams they have had in the past and have just been beaten by Blackburn at home. It looks like it is down to us to fly the flag so lets all get behind the mighty red machine and cheer them over the line, you know you want to!

I would rather cheer Ian Huntley on at a kids blindfolded pass the parcel competition!

I would rather get behind a herd of elephants with chronic wind and the shits!

I would rather get behind Steveie Wonder and David Blunkett in their quest to win the RAC rally!

Does that sufficiently answer your question?
