Jay have you ever stopped to compare some of Wengers absolutely shocking buys compared to Moyes - let's see now squilacci, chamakh, jo young park, geronimo (gervinho) and a few more, what complete and utter flops, versus Cahill, jagielka, lescott, pienaar, coleman, and I could go on, not to mention the sale of lescott and rodwell to moneybags Citeh, laughing all the way to the bank on those was kenwright. Decent players he made into internationals. There is just no comparison. I just hope that Martinez has half the nous as moysey. His big challenge now is doing the same on a decent sized budget.

Oh I also forgot to say thanks for the £10m for Arteta who's ability to make a 2 yard sideways pass has not been seen since Ray Wilkins hung up his boots - lol

Jeb there's nowt worse than a fan scorned and I'll put your Arteta pop down to that. He's been absolutely immense for us and quite possibly the most efficient and reliable player for us since we signed him. He's opta stats are phenomenal and he'd be the first player down on my team sheet. He sets the tempo in our midfield and never makes a mistake as well scoring a fair few from midfield. A great signing. All managers make blunders and believe me no one asks more questions of Arsene than I do and I'll tell you over a beer one day what I think of some of his mistakes but what he's achieved in the trophy room all be it a while back combined with his achievement of building the best stadium in the UK and managing the relocation whilst maintaining champs league every single year with a total net spend of ONLY 9 million is absolutely miraculous. Moyes is a good manager and has bought some nice players but he's not won anything ever in the top flight and has not got any real champions league experience so my point remains justified. Cheers Jay

Jay,
I have to agree with Jeb as far as the Moyesiah v Wenger is concerned. You are correct though in the fact that managing Everton to top 6 on very little money is commendable, taking on Utd after Fergie is a whole different ball game. What I am quite sure about though is that he will be like a kid in a sweet shop with what he now has to work with and the money he will be given to spend and if he fails it wont be for the lack of effort and determination as in that respect he is a Fergie clone and given a fair wind he could also quite easily become a legend just like the great man. I am looking forward to the new era with immence anticipation and cant wait for it to start.

Jay,
There is plenty of comparison these last 8 years, Wenger has kept Arsenal in the top 4 on gates of 60,000, charging top dollar entrance fees and paying higher wages... but still has not won anything. The Moyesiah has kept Everton in the top 6 on gates of 34,000, lower gate money and no money to spend. Now that is what I would call experience in a really tough league where money is God and you must surely be able to cut through the chaff and give some credit for that. The passage of time will tell us who will be the better manager going forward. The word is that Arsenals financial problems are coming to an end so Wenger simply has to perform now, he will have no excuses. Moyes, on the other hand will still have to contend with our owners debt problems for a while yet, but I get the vibe that he will cope just fine and it will just be more of the same from us.

No one will hold arsene to task more than us gooners for performances next season. The guillotine is in position and with his contract up at the end of next season he has every motivation to make it happen. No success next season and he'll have no choice one way or the other. We built our own half billion pound stadium re-developped half of Islington and maintained champions league football. That as your own Gary Neville stated is a miracle. Moyes has had decent seasons in his time at goodison and he's also flirted dangerously close to the drop zone during his time so not all rosy mate. We'll see what his made of but as a choice he's real gamble and his lack euro experience and of EVER winning anything leaves massive question marks. Only time will tell Bored now! Jay

I agree, we will revisit it as the season progresses no doubt. Of all the managers in the top 7 clubs only Martinez is a current winner (and he also got his team relegated) So they are all on trial so to speak next year and that is what makes the advent of next season doubly interesting with the only definate being that the bitters wont win anything. I cant wait for it to kick offf.

Well,
Manuel has signed on the dotted line for the bitters, I must say I had not heard much from him since he left Fawlty Towers...... Whats that? they are two different people, I am sorry I got confused as they have the same name and have both won the same amount in top class football... its an easy mistake to make.

Jay,
I prefer to jump in with both feet, its just my way. In three years time we will be counting the Moyes silverware, I am quite certain of that, If you look at the varying but by and large vast amounts of money that the likes of Chelsea, City, Utd, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool have had in the past 8 years, then look at the fact that Mr Moyes has had next to nothing to spend and kept his team in and around those clubs all that time just illustrates why we are so confident at the theatre that he will carry on the great mans legacy. time will certainly tell on that mate. On the other hand, who is confident about Pelligreedys abilty to do the same at the bitters? Not many people that I know, most of my Bluenose mates are gutted with the choice of manager. I, on the other hand, am absolutely delighted with Citys choice.

Jay,
I have had a closer look at Peligreedies portfolio to make sure I am being fair and I have come up with an interesting statistic. He has managed now in europe for nine long years without winning anything, but it is his time at Real Madrid that is an eye opener. He signed in June 2009 and in his first transfer window he spent TWO HUNDRED MILLION POUNDS!!!! on Ronaldo, Kaka, Alonso (£3O Million alone and that on its own condemns him) and Benzema among others. Thats over twice the amount in one window that Moyes spent in his entire Everton career and is by far the most money EVER spent in a single transfer window and the result of that outlay was utter failure by his team that year when Madrid didnt win anything and he was unceremoniously dumped for Jose after a year!! Citys owners must have money to burn (even if they fiddle their way around FFP) if they are going to trust the purse strings to that manager.

Chaddy,
you are nearly right.... we do win almost everything! I know when one of my posts touches a nerve with its pure and simple honesty, you revert to default mode and start to get abusive especially to my knowledgable mate Kev. Take no notice Kev dont be drawn in to a slanging match, just get your lead and come on.... its time for walkies.
Chaddy, can you tell me what exactly is not correct in my observations about your new manager?

Chaddy,
I forgot to mention, he has started already at City and has spent £50 million already on a very average winger and a 28 year old who cant even make his countrys international squad. Just doesnt bode well going forward mate does it?
