George,
It is not so much his boring style that will exclude him and lets not forget by the way that LVG is not renowned for boring football he just has structured his rebuild on solidity at first, Joses inability to accept responsibility for defeat, blaming Doctors, Physios, Ball boys, uncle tom cobbly and all means he will not get a sniff of the top job in football. Even fierce winner fergie insisted that we must lose with class on the few occasions it happened to him. No, I think another backwater is awaiting the special one and he is special as I cannot remember anyone else who has been sacked twice by Chelsea.

There is more going on that meets the eye at Chelsea, Jose will bounce back with avengence, mark my words, maybe at Man Utd but my guess is Newcastle before that muppet takes them down.Â

After a fantastic run of results in tough away games leaving us near the top etc and even allowing for injuries, us Utd fans could be forgiven in thinking West Ham and Norwich at home and Bournemouth away would reap us 9 points and put us firmly in the frame...... Well, 1 point from those games is a real jolt and a sickener and is totallly unacceptable to us fans of the club.
George, you may be right after all and Jose would be infinately better than what has been produced in the last month or so by our current management. ( I have just choked on that statement by the way)

A spoonful of humility will do the world of good to the whole Man Utd set up, including it's supporters, however I reckon that a self appointed 'special one' is just the ticket for them.    Â

Well some teams are going to have to step down to allow the likes of Leicester, Palace and Watford to step up, and it also looks as though Bournemouth are going to survive, next season is going to be very interesting.Â

I am big and daft enough to take it on the chin when my team goes through a bad patch lads so keep them coming.
However, having just watched Watford smash Liverpool I have to say how fortunate we are to have this fabulous league in our country. Bottom and Mid teams trying their hearts out and sometimes playing like Real Madrid to boot which means we can never ever take a result for granted beforehand. The whole package is riviting and if only the bitters could manage to get a few more fans in to fill those ugly empty spaces then it would be near perfect.

Hep,
It is ingrained in my DNA to dish the bitters, I just cannot help myself. Chaddy will tell you it is just the same the other way round just nowhere near as many of them. All the other clubs and football in general I can be quite objective and reasonable about.....on a good day.
As for boring, it is more exciting to sit and watch the grass grow at O/T than go to watch the other lot in the east manchester slums.
I have only ever been to watch City once without Utd being there and it was at maine road back in the day. Me and some mates were in the pub on a bank holiday and you used to get chucked out in those days while the pub closed between the dinner and nightime sessions. Someone suggested we go to watch City and Leeds to pass the time till the pub opened again. The match kicked off and within the first minute Dave Watson poleaxed Joe Jordan with a monster tackle from behind and on came the physio with the 'magic sponge'. Watson was given a stern lecture by the ref as you got away with the first tackle in those days. The free kick was swung in and when the dust had settled Watson was lay sprawled on the deck after a 'convenient' Jordan elbow in the face. Again, this time it was Citys physio sprinting on to tend the injured. The game was only minutes old and both Watson and Jordan had laid down their markers. They knocked holy hell out of each other for the rest of the game and walked off at the end arm in arm, no doubt to share a pint in the players lounge.
Some people say good riddance to that stuff and some like me remember it with a certain fondness. There is no doubt that in todays game both men would have seen straight reds right away and there is also no doubt though that in those days diving and feigning injury was a rare sight (mostly by Franny Lee, sorry I couldnt resist that dig) and the game was played by and large by real proper men. Has anyone else got similar stories about the good old days?

George,
One of Joses strengths is his ability to adapt. He played boring negative football at Chelsea because he was trying to get a small club to compete at the top end of the game using a rich owners money and was fairly successful at it until the last few months. If he was lucky enough to land the plum Utd gig he would be encouraged to let his team express itself and the result of that may well be just the ticket both for him and us. I am still not convinced that LVG will go though and whether Jose will be the pick.
Hiddinks record since his last caretaker stint at Chelsea is absolutely abysmal. He has failed to qualify for 3 major international tournaments with national teams and has been sacked from club jobs. I would be more worried about that appointment if I were a Chelsea fan George.

Well dakey, your latest post is (IMHO) your most sensible to date, Jose had managed to drag Ken Bates's middle of a dog track second raters into the big boy's sector of the league, but has run out of ideas of how to keep re-inventing them. Man Utd is the obvious place for him, but that has been said of many managers, however I'm willing to stick my neck out and say that I reckon that he could become something very special for you guys. Â

Hep,
It was only a matter of time before you got on board with someone of similar football intellect rather than siding with the other collection of philistines who post on here.

Who needs comedians when you can watch Citys back four? That was funny, but not as funny as the owner having to stump up half the ticket price to get any fans to go and watch them, now that is really funny. He must be thinking "I have pumped all this money into this shite and I have got to pay the fans to turn up"!! No wonder he is off loading shares rapid.
I have to say also that it is fitting at this stage that the two teams playing the best football and also working hardest for each other are clear at the top. Although there is still a long way to go Jay, you must be happy with what you are seeing so far.

They have a good midfield and keeper but their defence is none existant, Arsenal should have had a cricket score.

A really good night at the grove last night and me and nearest dearest had a lovely evening over there. These more mature performances are getting displayed more often.
We have a great goalkeeper with a mainly experienced back four now with the pace of bellerin to boot!!
ozil outstanding and Giroud/Walcott/Ramsey chipping in with more than goals...all that with still so much quality to return from injury.
yes you could say I'm happy but a nice little wanyamma for Christmas would be nice!
Merry Christmas boys and girls have a good one.

Jay,
I can't fault how you guys dealt with City, however there must be something amiss when I look forward to viewing games that include Leicester, Palace, Watford and Bournmouth.
