Dont get too excited chaps, started with a second string team and finished with a third string team. good luck to palace though they worked their socks off and deserved the win. We can concentrate on regaining top spot by mid Jan' now.

Great win by palace
But as a neutral I don't see the final as being one to wait for.Â
Great for Cardiff/Palace fans, and I'd be happy for another upset, but can't see many others waiting in anticipation for the match.

Fellas,
52,000 to watch the reserves/3rd string, most of you would give your eye teeth for that figure in your biggest matches!
On this weekends fixtures, if we are only 5 points behind after sunday then I will be quite happy. Tricky weekend ahead.

Been of for a while so a quick recap.
Proud of ours lads performance against City good entertaining game with a single goal in it from a break but I thought even game and a result either way would have been fair. ground looked pretty populated as well.
Well the mighty Eagles!!!!! just a reminder who was the only person who said a shock was on the cards before kick off....ME!!!!
But was it really a shock Utd were playing so badly with the first team out each week the second lot must have no confidence. For example if you cant make the first team and they are crap how bad are you as a player!!!!!!
Dakey when will realise its all going Pete Tong!!!!!
Brucie gone from Sunderland... fair enough look at the results and money spent!!!!! whos next Fergie!!!!!!
Sitting here watch Celski 1 up and the slow toom slide is on but I will have to admit the the toon are a better side than I gave them credit for.
Arsenal need a result to get back on track and I desperatley need spurs to have a bad weekend realisticly see wins for all top clubs except Man U who I think will draw and chelski nick it against New c
Stuck in England hope to get out to GDA on the 9th

Neil,
It looks like you have taken over from Jay with your negativity surrounding Utd, or are you just taking it in turns? I am afraid the outcome will be the same, nothing is ever won in November and come the reckoning I will accept humble pie from whatever quarter it comes from, even Dave.
Cheers, Dakey

Neil,
Unfortunately your need for Spurs to slip up hasn't been met.
I am just enjoying this run we are on and its as amazing to me as anyone when I see the results rolling in and us winning home and away in the league. 11 games unbeaten and 10 wins. For a team whose consistency was its inconsistency or its very average performances away from home I still struggle to believe it when I look at the recent results.
If someone had told me Arsenal would go on a run of 8 wins and a draw and that Spurs would still have 5 points and a game in hand on them I would have said in your dreams.
But as Dakey says (when Utd aren't 1st!) its a marathon and not a sprint (or words to that effect) so not even thinking of final positions at the moment. Just enjoying the results and the great football!!

Fellas,
That was a tricky weekend successfully negotiated, more than happy to have not lost ground to the bitters today. I admit that City are flying at the moment, breaking all sorts of records etc etc and you all to a man think we are crap. Just want to make a couple of pertinent observations. The first is if we had beaten City instead of them beating us we would be above them! so the only difference is that one game, think about that for a minute. Secondly and more important, whilst we had to listen to Arsenal and Spurs excuses early on about injuries decimating their teams causing bad defeats, When Chico was carried off today something dawned on me, every single outfield player both in the team and on the bench had all missed a number of games this year with injuries. Then I thought of the players who along with Chico are out at the moment and the fact is that every single outfield player in our squad bar none has missed games this season through injury and a good portion of them are serious injuries. Now up until me just pointing that out nobody from O/T has even mentioned it! We just take it on the chin and deal with it. Chaddy, enjoy it at the pinnacle while you can as we are coming for you very soon!
Cheers, Dakey

Dave, Chaddy, Tony and fellow bluenoses,
The next fortnight is moving and shaking time, You have Bayern, Chelsea and Arsenal for your next three fixtures. If you come through those in good shape then I promise to give you the respect you will have earned as you will then have played your fair share of big games and be where you deserve to be. I know that two weeks is a long time in football, but the London Clubs, Spurs and Arsenal in particular and even Chelsea are flexing their muscles and gearing up for an assault on the top spot. Throw Liverpool into that equation and we have a genuine title race involving possibly six teams and that is unprecedented in modern football in this country. I think we are in for a roller coaster, ever changing picture for the remainder of the season that will keep us all on the edge of our seats, with us just prevailing at the end.... of course!

Every week is a challenge and has been so far very enjoyable - not expecting the turn of results in the CL this week but looking forward at the next month with the games you have mentioned + a two legged semi final against Liverpool and now entertaining you guy's at the Etihad.
Bring it on!

Tony,
I wondered what you were carping on about, but I have only just seen the FA cup draw and now I know. There is a God after all, I thought we were going to have to wait till April 28th to beat you and take the title, but now we can sort out a bit of payback a lttle sooner. Happy days!

Is it possible for this season to get any better?? Dakey!!! Every record in premiership history from the start of the season tumbles and you think it's gonna be a close season heh heh. After next week we've played everyone away. All got to come to us. If any of you fancy a bet where you may get good odds, city to score double figures in a premiership game. The chances we create are unbelievable. One negative that's starting to wind me up. Everyone seems to measuring there season on how well they've turned it round since we stuffed em at home 5-1 or 6-1 etc. News from someone who sees every game!!! We're gettin better and better lads

Dave,
I know you are new to this winning regularly thing so let me explain to you how it works. Playing good football and winning games at this stage is great but as Jay and Neil will tell you it means jack shit come the business end of things. The facts are that you started the season with high hopes and in 5 trophies. You lost the first one in the first game at Wembley and you are about to go out of the next one, which by the way happens to be the biggest, on Wednesday barring a miracle. So in answer to your question can it get better? It certainly cannot be much worse in terms of being out of 40% of trophies entered and only just in December. Please try and concentrate on the few options you have left, we wouldnt like your sugar daddy to lose interest now would we!
Cheers, Dakey

Dave,
Oh, by the way Dave you forgot to mention the only two premiership records that really matter. One is 12 titles out of 19 and two is the highest attendances by a mile every year the competition has been in force, in fact we get more people turn up to watch the youth team train at the cliff than attend most of your games. Now my friend those are two records that you will never get anywhere near in our lifetime no matter how much dirty money you throw at the 'project' If you produced league tables for each year from the start of the season to Xmas our record would be non existant as I dont think we would be leading in any of those tables. Just making that point again to remind you that nothing is won by breaking records at this stage and we know that better than anyone!

Dave,
Another record has just come to mind. The club spending the most money in football history to build a team and then exiting the CL at the group stage. Now that did not happen even to Chelsea and they spent much less, so a big well done for that one as well!
( I know what you are thinking, if you by some miracle manage to scrape through or we also slip up at Basle then I fully expect pelters from all angles)
Dakey
