The Comments |
Jay,
Well done last night, rode your luck a little bit but deserved it in the end through a battling display with a depleted squad. Just shows that your epitaphs are a bit premature.
On another note, what is it about the players City sign that prompts them to comment about other clubs fans? The last 3 or 4 before Nasri came out with the usual nonsense about Manchester Utd fans, then Nasri has a pop at Arsenal fans saying that City fans are more passionate! Is he having a laugh? You can hear a pin drop at Eastlands on most match days and correct me if I am wrong but hasnt he been performing to 60,000 sell outs at the Emirates every other week? He definately wont be getting that where he is now. I agree that City fans can be a passionate little bunch at times but they cant fill their little converted rented athletics stadium, so he had better get used to plenty of empty spaces on the terraces as despite all the money they just dont have enough of a fan base to fill it up consistantly.
looking forward to the weekend mate as Utd v Arsenal is still one to savour. Another big test for the youngest Squad in the league.
Cheers, Dakey

The boys dug in and I was a little surprised and a bit proud of the effort but Dakey you were right we were lucky in the end as Udinese certainly had their chances and that DiNatale looks a player. We're leaving Condado on Sunday morning to reach Madrid around 3pm we'll have to find a bar showing the game on somewhere. I think based on current standings and squads a draw would be a result for the Arsenal. There's 6 days left and surely Wenger's got to do something. I for one am totally baffled by Mata going to chelski. What could they posdibly offer that the gunners could not. Answers on a postcard!!!!! Cheers a relieved Jay :-)

George,
Every word the truth, just because you dont like what he says doesnt make it arrogant. You also really cannot comment on the arrogance of others, when you support a club that idolised and still does, Jose Mourhino
Jay,
Dont need a postcard, Chelsea, like City can offer playing in front of low attendances, unlike Arsenal and Utd.
Cheers, Dakey

Do these footballers think people are as stupid as they are? Nasri has now said that he always wanted to stay in England and he would only consider Man City and Man Utd as options wih City his preferred option. Lets just analyse this for a moment and ignoring the fact that he was on the phone daily to Evra begging him to get Sir Alex to make a bid. ( either that or Evra is lying). Samir, City made a bid to Arsenal and offered you a deal. Utd did not, so you never had the option you preferred. Now, like Tevez, it must sting that the best manager of all time was not interested in you but move on son, dont comment about a fictional Utd interest or Arsenals fans, just concentrate on getting in Citys side and try to scrape into the top four if you can and that is enough for you to concentrate on for now.

Quote from City Dave about Aguero - "He's no Ashley Young though". Most accurate thing he's said. Aguero isn't half the player and cost 25million more !
Quote from George as his Chelsea boys slide away to their old age homes "city city top of the league, city , city top of the league.united back 5 of last year all out  so me think they will struggle .city champions, chelsea 2nd man u 3rd arsenal 7th". Looks like he's talking out of his behind again and we've only played 3 games! Oh - and they aren't top anymore...
Jay - don't know what to say to you mate other than you won't get beat like that again for a long time.
Dakey - Looks like Sir Alex as built us another great team with a mix of youth and cunning buys rather than just buying eeverything in sight in the hope they'll turn up on the day. Our lads are a joy to watch at the moment.

First of all, George. You will still be a minor threat this year as you are still getting the dodgy referee calls going your way. With the score at 1-1 and Norwich on top Torres should have walked for a deliberate trip but the ref bottled it yet again at Stamford bridge.
Back to the good stuff. In a week when the pride of North London has been well and truley North Wested, now is not the time to quibble about how each team has got to this point, or how much money has been spent etc, etc. In Manchester and to a slightly lesser extent Liverpool. lets just enjoy the undeniable fact that we have fantastic football teams and we are all in for a magical roller coaster ride with many twists and turns. Yesterday was the first one, but I predict there will be many more before the dust settles. George is right in one thing, that was a brilliant city performance and to throw down the challenge for us to have to beat Arsenal by six goals to go above them and then for us to do it in that fashion was breathtaking. I, like you Kev, cant wait for the next installment!
Cheers, Dakey

Dakey please dont come on here winging about refereeing decisions after the refs handed you the title on a plate last season with an awful lot of bad decisions. And this season chelsea have been declined 5 nailed on pens including 3 against stoke which if only 1 of thise was given would have us level at the top with the 2 manc clubs.
Arsenal put out a reserve side as  wengers refuses to splash the cash so most Pl teams would have put at least 5 past them yesterday.
For me man city look nailed on champions already as man U havent played anyone decent yet and your back 5 looks extremely fragile. After all arsenal reserves scored twice and missed a pen yesterday. Think its over 10 years since L'Arse scored twice at OT.

George,
I read that 1984 in the league actually was the last time the gunners scored two at O/T. Dont make me laugh about injuries etc as all teams have at least a 25 man squad. would you not count Ferdinand, Vidic, Raphael, Evra, Chico, Valencia, Fletcher and now Wellbeck as injuries as they have all missed games up to now this season. The gunners only had three missing from the side that won in Spain so lets see if anyone else puts a sackfull past them shall we before dishing Utds achievements. We have this same crap every year as you wish we would just fall by the wayside but it never happens and you just end up looking stupid, then sulk and just stop posting till I entice you back in with some choice comments to get you going. It will be exactly the same this year mate, just wait and see.

Actually dakey cant remember a single post from you 2 seasons ago when we won the double!
But then again i wasnt on here every 5 minutes extolling the virtue of that great side - i let the team do the talking for me.
However i am sure if you were posting you would have been saying what a good team we were. However more likely you were whinging about injuries and refs!

I always post George, good or bad, win or lose, funny or serious. I would have no credibility if I did not and I like to think I take the odd defeat with good grace, although you might not agree with that.

I agree - City's result was excellent and they look very strong. The only question for me is do they have the team spirit to keep it going all season? Time will tell... As someone from down south said on this forum last year - looks like thebalance of power has shifted (but north not south!).
Should also say I think Liverpool are looking good. If they can stengthen their defense they may be in the melting pot for honours too.
Surprised by Spurs but they have only played two games against the leagues strongest two teams so we'll see if they improve.

Jay, mate,
What can be said? It is very difficult to have eight players missing from the squad with injuries etc and remain competitive..... I am sure when we at Utd get our eight injured players fit we can become competitive again!!!
Cheers, Dakey
