Shampers,
It would be the first ref this year that has not given you a match winning decision. Be thankful for the 20 odd points you have been gifted already to give you the false position you are in, you got stung with that one, but the stonewall pen on Suarez not given evened it out.

Spent a fortune and failed to nail the big ones, now FFP are closing in with sanctions and transfer bans muted as the first step to bringing the bitters into line kicking and screaming. If they cant win it with unfettered spending then going forward under strict scrutiny they have no chance. I suppose it was entertaining while it lasted, now back to reality.

What a great result last night, well done the Eagles! 11th in the league, when everyone (including hubby!) thought we'd go down! We're not completely safe yet, but with results like last night to Everton away, then we deserve to stay up!
Also, our daughter's boyfriend pleased as he's an Arsenal supporter! Hopefully now they'll clinch the 4th spot!

Must admit i think tony pulis much as i hate the guy deserves manager of the season. Palace were odds on to go down with little history of staying up for more than 1 season  and no money to spend, so chelsea's loss (which has cost them the title) has been put into perspective by the palace win at everton which as you say has given arsenal an undeserved 4th place lifeline. Well done pulis however as i like palace as am friends with 2 former players and alot of fans and as  i lived in that area for a long time i will always wish them well. as for citeh, wow you have not only given the fa cup to l'arse you have given the title to to liverscum. not funny!

Yes, we have been known as the yo-yo team, in fact I think we have the (dubious) honour of going up and straight down more times than anyone else! Hopefully we'll now break that curse and stay up for a long time!

 First, let me apologise for not emailing before now, I have not been curled up in fits of laughter all night I have been travelling to Aberdeen and just got internet access. This could take a while;
For some years us Utd fans have been wondering with trepidation just what life would be like when the great man called it a day and our worse fears have come to fruition, certainly at home, where the new manager has struggled to come to terms with what is required despite the brilliant support from the fans.
At times like this you look for a distraction to take away some of the pain.....
STEP UP MANCHESTER CITY! you have provided that distraction in spades and let us look at that in more detail. In a week when the FFP authorities have said that major sanctions are to be applied to City it emerges that the City players are the best paid sportsmen on the planet. Lets look at what they have done to merit that financial reward. Abject failure in the CL yet again and abject failure in the PL yet again. Beaten by Wigan in the FA cup, yet again and a poxy Capitol cup win with the highest opponent at 12th place in the PL.
I can just see Audreys team talk before the Liverpool game " Now lads it ees a crunch time in the title race so I call you to "bottle stations" he of course meant in his broken English "battle stations" but the first comment is more apt as your bunch of overpaid underachievers have completely bottled it and big style! with 1 poxy point out of 6 taken from the PL basket case club.
With the fans getting more and more fed up and the blue spaces on the terraces getting bigger and bigger by the game the club still insist on posting attendance figures of 47,000 taking us all for blind men!
In Conclusion, thank you City for providing first class entertainment for us Utd fans in our hour of need. We owe you a debt of gratitude that will take some repaying!

Not only are the "band of few" that frequent the Emptihad dwindling at an alarming rate of knots, it would appear that our resident gobshite blue contingent on here who have been more than vociferous while telling anyone that would listen that the quadruple was coming to manchester have also suddenly lost the appetite for reasoned debate and have gone mute.
A quadruple has already come to manchester in 1999 and that will be the only one ever to do so. Replicas are sat in the Utd trophy room of the CL, PL, FA cup and World Club Cup..... now that is a proper quadruple!

Dakey, the only person on here who spouts on and on about what they've won and what they're going to win is you. As a typical armchair rag you still remain under the illusion that you have a divine right to win everything, that everything is rosy in your garden and falling apart elsewhere, unfortunately what's going on at your place really is hilarious, as the wheels have fallen off bigstyle, and you face a massive rebuilding exercise, which will take sometime if ever to complete.
Your fascination with City remains pretty unbelievable, so for a club that has won the League Cup, is sat in third in the prem (which you deem as abject failure - so where does that leave your lot under Dithery Dave?) and will qualify for the Champions League (outcome of Fair Play Rules set by the Elite Table awaited) ain't a disastrous season, maybe it's the only crumb of comfort you have that your local rivals won't win everything they've entered this season, but I'll take 3rd, the League Cup, and a 7-1 aggregate over your mob this season quite happily as Pelligrini also pushes on with the owners request to take a more holistic approach with the club which includes the local community, unlike the aims of the double glazers which is simply to pocket as much money as they can from something they don't particularly care about.

Dave,
I agree we have to partly rebuild the squad and that will take us a couple of months tops. The holistic approach you are on about is to save £400 million by not purchasing or building a ground and spending a quarter of the saving on the local amenities while all your rivals are hamstrung by ground building or development costs. To date that approach has not resulted in more fans as everyone can see on match days and something else for FFP to look at I would suggest. If you set your stall out to make your squad the highest paid squad of sportsmen ever then only pick up 1 minor cup in two years then yes, you are going to get it in spades my friend and yes that is what most objective onlookers would deem as abject utter failure.

Dakey, you have the two highest paid players in the prem and your team cost more than ours when we wiped the floor with you at the swamp, you've had 25 years of dining at the top table to make your team what it is today, that my friend is abject failure of a monumental kind.

Dave,
It is not me that said you have the highest paid sportsmen ever in the world and it is not me that said FFP were going to come down on you like a ton of bricks. Both those things have been widely reported in this weeks media. It shoudnt come as a shock that you cannot get away with those things when you look at the vast empty spaces in your rented home. You have simply got to find your operating level and stay there until you can earn it properly. We can pay those wages out of earned income as well as service the glazers debt and compete in the market place as we have built up that reputation over many years of success, we dont need to buy our way up we are there on merit.

Oh dear, dear, dear. None of you bottlers want it do you? What an expensive bunch of failures. As for the disgraceful bunch at Stamford Bridge - making untrue accusations about an official not being enough you now try to physically attack one. Shocking. With Ramires also surely going to be banned for the rest of the season you must be out of it. I hate to say it but you've all but given it to the Scousers so that's all we're going to hear about for years. To be fair, they probably deserve to win it most provided they don't capitulate like the rest of you. At least we won't be bored with the "Jose has never lost a PL game at Stamford Bridge" statement anymore. As the Chavster says LMFAO. Come on Athletico!

You have to take your hat off to Sunderland, a proper working mans club making a bloody good fist of it from a near impossible position. I was rooting for Chelsea just because I have them in the pub sweep for £150 but I suppose that is away with the fairies now. Despite the fact that both the bought and paid for little clubs have fell flat on their arses at least Chelsea have recognised that they have to conform to FFP and will have to sell before they can buy unlike the other blue shite who are still trying like billyo to cheat and fraud their way around it any way they can. for that reason I will be rooting for Chelsea in midweek as they are our sole representatives so lets all get behind them and wish them luck.
