dakey and others,
Guess what. this year for the first time for ages i dont really give a shit,
All i want is 4th place for renewed champions league football
After that i will sit back and enjoy. last year exceeded all expectations . i know di matteo isnt the best manager in the world but he deserved the job. jt ran that team and cant do it again.
We wont win anytihng this season except maybe a domestic cup but i will sit back and enjoy football this season without a care in the world

George,
I am glad you have fulfilled your lifetime ambitions and that you no longer care what happens to your team...... as from what I have seen so far you are right to distance yourself from the massive disappointments to follow, you will struggle to reach top four and without the luck in the cups I see a blank bleak season ahead. It could be worse though, you could have splashed £16 million on Jack Rodwell!!

Fellas,
Some cracking stuff today to whet the appetite and wasnt it nice to see QPR get a good thumping as punishment for letting the bitters nick it in injury time last season. Arsenal , Spurs and Liverpool on the back foot again already.... so no surprises there then. I fancy City to run up a cricket score tomorrow, but Chelsea at Wigan is a different kettle of fish. The pie eaters finshed like a train at the end of last season so that is a very tricky opener for them. A nice easy cantor for us then on monday at Everton who will be missing the mercurial Jack Rodwell who has taken a backward step and moved to a smaller club.

Fellas,
I suppose in the grand scheme of things 3 points is 3 points, however I dont think being outplayed by Southampton for long periods and fluking the win was part of todays plan. Look on the bright side, on todays display City are going to save themselves a fortune on the performance related add ons to Jack Rodwells contract!!

Dave,
We are in agreement there then, as once it has settled down in a few weeks we will be in front and this time there will be no slip ups and so yes you are quite correct, we will not be on the same points again.

Dave,
I have just watched the city match on sky, so I can now comment with the benefit of seeing some of the action. I thought Rodwells pin point pass...... to an opposition player for Southamtons 2nd goal was bad enough, but the Southampton fullback wants marching out at dawn, put up against a wall and shot for that head back to Nasri for the winner. Schoolboy footballers know to head those out for a corner never mind a so called premier league player. Still I thought we would be a mile behind on goal difference after today so that in itself is a brucie bonus. I think once it settles down the saints are going to be on the end of quite a few hidings here and there.

Dear Deluded Dakey Lad!! lol
81 % possession for the mighty blues shows the level of domination of Southampton my fickle fiend!
I dont presume that you will ever understand logic so wont even try!!
Nice to be back discussing important matters rather than the President and ML rubbish!!
ps Capinhandflow this is irony not anything based on FACTÂ ORÂ EVIDENCE!!!

Chaddy,
I am glad also that we are back debating the important stuff. As far as logic goes we all have to play each other twice by the end, but some fixtures are more difficult than others for instance Everton away is one of the most difficult so I will be grateful for anything we get tonight. On the other hand Southampton at home is one of those fixtures where you not only expect three points, which you eventually got, but also a bucket full of goals to boost the goal difference and that you certainly did not get. When you consider that you scraped the league on goal difference last year then even you must understand the logic of that. Your failure to boost your goal difference yeasterday might well come back to haunt you in the tight battle for runners up come the reckoning.

Exactly Dave,
That is my point, there are always shock results now and again for every team, that is why we love the game, but those two results are fundamental in why you won the league and we did not last year. Just as only beating southampton (whose record signing of all time is only £6 million quid) by a single goal could well be a defining moment why you wont retain the title, although I have a sneakey feeling that goal difference will not be a factor this time around.
On another point that cost us dearly last year, I have just read that Ferdinand has picked up an injury in training that will keep him out for a while and joins Evans Jones and Smalling on the treatment table. FOUR centre halfs injured and we have not kicked a ball in anger yet! someone needs to look at the training schedules to figure out just what we are doing wrong as that stat beggars belief.

Back foot...that one Dakey!!! You were even more toothless when RIP came on which is unbelievable. I thought Rooney and him were supposed to be the answer. Lot of work to do there mate. Everton dominated your midfield and the big man in the middle was outstanding. Jay

Evening Gents
Sometimes you gotta look at things and say "bobbins second best again", got jibbed in ballot and any spares were being snapped up for stupid money so unfortunatly wasnt present tonight, I thought " the hair bear bunch" was superb, he will cause a lot of teams so many problems, we didnt get going really, passed it around nicely in spats but no end product, hoping this will be a nice kick up the harris to our lot, though Nippon was superb for us whereas on the other hand Nani was the worst of the rest, only thing I can say is well done the Toffee's best team won and its onwards and upwards.

Dave,
Everton fully deserved the points no argument there, Sometimes the fixture computor can be kind and give you a home game gimmee to start off with, we just happened to have been given one of the toughest away games with Vidic playing his first competitive game for nearly a year and two midfielders having to fill in in defence. It will take a little time for the new players to gel as well, so enjoy yourself while you can because at around ten games in we will be top of the pile with a bit to spare. ( Shampers, another one there for the Dakey may13 file)
