Yer gettin easy mate. I've cast in once and you've bit 3 times!!!!

Now don't forget to watch Basle on Wednesday, they've already put 3 past you this season. And don't be surprised if the No2 seeds in our group manage a draw against the No4 seeds. That would put you out of 100% of competitions befor January. Except the one you called a meaningless friendly in August heh heh

Exciting week ahead

Dave,

Enjoying the debate and I am happy that you are getting some pleasure for the first time in your miserable existance, but I have to go and get suited up now, the Helicopter is landing in 30 minutes on the rig to take us home and I have a place on it. Speak with you later.

Nothing against Utd and to be honest I dont give a hoot who wins the title if it is not us(thats a lie spurs winning would hurt) I just call it as I see it and at the moment I see city Spurs crusing and Utd stumbling on. City 5 , Spurs and chelski 3 arsenal 4 and the great utd 1 again,

i know Fergie has always had the ability to finish well and I wait in antisipation for the second half as I agree that it still could be a great open race and the next couple of weeks will be the judge of City.

As for the CL I have always supported the english sides and if City fail as it looks likely I it with bring a smile to think that they spent that much money and could not qualify from the group stages, I hope Utd and Chelski dont blow it to. Pleased we have Qualified as winners already it allows us to avoid the big Spanish sides as well as playing the reserves as we did against City in the Carling.

Well the Cup draw will cause the the Manchester supporters much banter in the coming weeks and the rest of us will watch with glee, if Utd lose this one it will almost certainly give the bragging rights to city for a while, If ever a game was must win in the cup this is it.

City have had a great start but by the middle of Jan it could all be on the slide I remeber us losing everything in 3 weeks from being in all to out of the lot so dave your lot need to be careful.

Dakey hope the journey home was good see you for a beer next time u are over.

Alright Neil

Not sure who's turn it is. Is it my turn to have pop or yours?!!!!

Dakey mate seriously have not got a problem with UTD either just the way you have been took over and your current business model that's all but that's not the UTD fans fault.

By the way Dave your mob's still on fire but the only record that's worth having is "THE RECORD" a season unbeaten has to be the target and if you can match the Arsenal's untouchables then respect will be due but there's a long long way to go but you never know.

Good luck this week boys some need it more than others!!

Cheers

Jay,

There are two 'RECORDS' that no one else has achieved, the first one is a season unbeaten which you quite rightly hold. The second and infinately more difficult is the quadruple of League, CL, FA Cup and world club championship to close out the deal. Now only one club has got that and to be honest, I cant see either being achieved ever again, even with ten billionaires pulling the strings.

Neil,

I love good football and we have played more than our fair share over the years. The fans demand nothing less, however if we 1-0 our way to the end of the season and bring home the bacon then it wont bother me one jot. If your lot had dug in for 1-0 results a few times over the last seven years when your flowing football was not working for you then you might just have a few trophies in the cabinet to crow about. That is the one thing that City seem to have learned from us, from what I have seen so far they have dug in on the few occasions they have been tested and that worries me more than any good football that any of you are playing.

Cheers, Dakey

I have avoided the debate about records as the past does not evffect the season to come but I believe a team will never go a season unbeaten again and Dakey is right!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the 4 trophies will probably never be matched in the forseeable future.

Dakey as for the nicking games when you are not playing well Utd have been the best over the years but it used to be the odd games and at the moment it seems to be EVERY game and this cannot go on and you will start to fail if your form continues. I think Fergie knows this and when the window open I can see spending big by yourselves to correct the problems. That will be only if the robbers you have in control release the money they may have given up on the season already.

Jay is right the fans must be so gutted at how your club with the greatest turnover in football has been pushed squezzed and robbed by by non football business men over the years and if they had the money they produce to spend internally they would be and should be able to match anyclub in the world in the transfer market. My club prove that it does not matter how well the club is run its the ability to spend that produce the trophies and we have suffered time after time having to sell players just because we cannot match  or would not matchthe huge wages elsewhere when the directors took huge dividends each season.

Dave

Your City Super squad is doing great domesticly but the farce you have produced in the CL must be a worry and it looks like its to late for this season so you will enjoy playing Fulham Stoke and the others in the micky mouse Europa league in the second have its europes Frieght Rover. City have yet to face the british winter and A test of cities strenght will come on cold rainy winters nights in places like wigan bolton etc.

As a footnote my thanks to Fulham for nicking the game last night We have now overhauled all the teams after our dreadful start with Chelski next on the list and top four whos betting against???

Neil

Neil,

I am not sure what your point is regarding our owners not allowing us to compete. The club is so well run that we are making the owners money, servicing the interest on the debt as well as gradually paying down the debt and at the same time are spending big but sensibly in the transfer market. it is a successful model bcause we have won 4 titles out of the last five been in 3 CL finals winning one and numerous domestic cups in the last 5 years. Why the need to compete any better than that? although I agree it would be demoralising for the rest if we managed to get shut of the Glazers and their debt. City would have to spend 2 billion then to get on a par with us instead of just a paltry 1 billion!

Oh and by the way, we have a better goal difference and have scored more goals than anyone in the league apart from the bitters, so all you teams that are flying as you put it are still behind us in the scoring stats so how does that pan out?

Dakey

Again I do not dispue the past and the sucess you have had its has been the best run english football has ever seen. And as for the way you are run again the arsenal model of surving debt,  sensible trading in the market and paying dividends is the way al clubs should operate

The diference between the two is that our directors bougfht their shares with their own money and if they borrowed to by the shares then the debt is theirs and not the clubs. The yanks you got borrowed to buy the club then transfered their debt to the club so its the club that owes, a great business deal and if we were all allowed to do that then we could have a club each. To recap the Glazers can collect dividends without in reality costing them any investment.

My point is that our model allowed us moderate sucess but we did not have the capacity of wealth to compete with you or Chelski. City have now taken the Chelski model to the next level and as a result your lot are falling into the same position we were as the generated income is not enough and if nothing happens soon your continued dominance wont continue. The utd brand is the best in the world but only continued sucess can sustain that and if City in England and the Spaniard take over Europe that will change. Can see the new young eastern people all starting to but Real or Barca shirts instead of their prized Utd ones If this happens I will be as sad as any ,asmy  team loyalty does not stop me seeing what a great club Utd is and how they have changed the face of football. (no rose coloured glasses here)

If we all lived in the past this forum would be full of scouser boasting how great they WERE and not forget ing the Preston North End and huddlesfield fans

Your postion in the prem is without question but things need to change now before the gap at the top becomes a a chasm. I would rather see a fight between the manchesters than City running away with it.

Still saying all that loved the cup draw!!!!!

Neil

And please can someone beat Spurs its killing me !!!!!!!

Neil,

Some good points and I agree with some of them, However all this talk about business models, debt etc and I thought the clubs were about supporters. My feelings about the debt the glazers have put us in is well documented but the fact remains (my figures might be slightly out but the point is the same) our business model still allows our supporters to buy average season tickets at around £700 whilst your ideal model rips off your supporters to the tune of about £1500, in fact the dearest season tickets in the world so I am led to believe and not a trophy in sight. I think I will stick with our model warts and all. On the subject of competing with the bitters, City have to win something substantial initially before they can think of opening a chasm on anyone. In fact the only chasm at the Etihad is the distance between fans on the terracing.

Cheers, Dakey

Figures well out again mate. My tickets at the arsenal are £985 each and include 7 home cup ties making it approx £36 a game which is very reasonable by today's prices. Also you gotta factor in the "London" thing and pro rata even though they shot themselves in the foot with 6% increase this year we're certainly not the most expensive.

As for results and trophies we all know our short comings on that front and we're working on it. Funny even after our disastrous start I feel we now have a better equipped squad than last year despite the departures. The players that were brought in during the 11th hour of the window are just what we needed and when you think that the best midfielder in the country ain't even fit yet it bodes well for the remainder of the season. I have a supprisingly good feeling but I'm not getting carried away just yet.

Neil sp*rs ain't got a toughish game until 22nd of December and then it's only chelski!!! Have to hope Stoke can do em.

Bloody Hell, the Arsenal boys are coming at me in Sterio now! Jay, thats a grand in the cheap seats mate. I know the best midfielder in the country is out injured but I cant see how getting Tom Cleverly fit again will benefit the gunners!

Jay, Neil

Speaking of who? who the hell was that keeper that came on for you last night? You have had some real buffoons over the years starting with Seaman letting one in from the halfway line in a cup final and one direct from a corner, but him last night has the potential to beat the lot. Someone please tell him he is a Goalkeeper and keepers can use their HANDS! to stop the ball going in if its not a backpass.

Nice to see Chelsea hitting a bit of form, well done last night and just in time for the visit of a, hopefully, demoralised bitters to Stamford Bridge on monday. We will be only two points behind by then and if you others also win at the weekend the pressure will be building relentlessly.

I don't know and I did not watch it as it was a dead rubber.

But lets be honest you had Barthez and he was wicked!

Luckily we qualified and finished top of our group 2 weeks ago. Hope you got a can of SURE with you tonight it could be a sweaty one and your very low on strikers right now.

Jay,

Barthez was a bit eccentric, but like grobbelar he was entertaining and he has got a world cup winners medal I think. If you wanted to retort you could have also mentioned Taibi or going back, Paddy Roche, they were all bad but not in your league. You are right we have got Chico, Berba and Owen injured, but we have got Rooney and Wellbeck (Englands Attack) to fall back on, I think it will be enough. I would like to ask you a question, Who would you turn to if RVP was injured? you havent got anyone else of note. With Bentner out on loan and Wilshire injured, you can no longer rely on Jack and the Beanstalk as back up.

There's no two ways about it mate. IF RVP snaps we're screwed. The "preditor" lookalike is not a bad player going forward with his 6 assists but he's profligate in front of goal and has only notched three times this season in the premier league. The Korean captain is not up to speed yet so Arsenal need to spend wisely in the window. It's essential as Chamakh is simply suffering a confidence crisis and so is Arshavin. It's a shame as they both have the ability to do well and I for one don't quite know whats happened to them both. If Arsene spends wisely on a couple of quality strikers I still think we're better equipped as a squad than this time last year.

Cheers

Jay
