Jay, mate

Dont get too carried away, If RVP, Fabregas, Nasri and the rest step it up a couple of notches..... then you have a reasonable chance of matching Leeds and Ipswich next time around. I think you need to start walking before you think of running.

Cheers, Dakey

Come on Dakey fella let me get a bit carried away now. That was a great game tonight at Elland Road. Fantastic atmosphere and a really well contested match with both teams fully committed to playing the game the right way. Unlucky Leeds boys, we just purred tonight and were pinging it about as good as we have all season. If our little russian fella could only find a tiny bit form we'd of had a couple more no doubt. Still 3-1 at Leeds under the lights with a 40k partisan crowd shows we're up for it. Bring on Wigan and then Ipswich! Onwards and upwards Jay

Jay,

As you know I am a lover of the beautiful game, thats why I give Dave and his Eastlands mob so much stick for boring the pants off us most of the time. Like you I thoroughly enjoyed that game last night and I have to say some of the Gunners pass and move football is as good as anything I have seen even Barca produce, except in the final third of the pitch. Sometimes you find yourself screaming at the screen, " JUST SHOOT!!". You get the impression that if they cant walk the ball in then they just wont bother. If you can develop a ruthless streak in front of goal and Stiffen up your defence and goalkeeper and it is not major surgery, just a tweak here and there, then you could get back to where you were 5 or 6 years ago. The million dollar question though is, Does Arsen Wenger recognise that he has a problem in those areas? if the answer is no then you will continue to flatter to deceive and struggle to turn your beautiful football into tangible success.

Cheers, Dakey

Shane,

What about the "Diamond Geezer, Harry" being mugged in Spain whilst on his way to watch Real Madrid. He told reporters that there were two of them that knelt down in front of him and pulled at his trousers to distract him while another four went through his pockets and took his wallet and other things and left him skint. He was never much good when faced with a four-poor -two formation!

The police have said they will soon have his wallet back, the thieves wont get far on a fork lift truck.

Cheers, Dakey

Dave,

You will have to bear with me here, I cant type for laughing! Lets give it a try anyway. First let me say you have cornered the market in the last few years as far as 20 odd million quid carthorses are concerned, but you have unearthed the carthorse to end all carthorses this time with Dzeko. Lescott may as well hand over the crown right now.

I will now try to be objective. Where are we all now in the title race after todays games? I will tell you how I see it, bearing in mind it is now a 14,15 or 16 game season.

1) Spurs; They would have to win 5 games and Utd lose 5 for Spurs to go above us. Verdict., never in a million years. Out of it!

2) Chelsea; They would have to win 4 games and Utd lose 4 to go above us. Verdict, never in a thousand years. Out of it!

3) Man City; They would have to win four games and Utd lose three and draw one to go above us. Verdict, never in a hundred years. Almost out of it!

4) Arsenal; They would have to win two and Utd either lose two or lose one and draw one, if they turn over the goal difference, to go above us. Verdict, game on, certainly within striking distance.

If I was a neutral and I was given decent odds, then I might just be tempted to have a flutter on the Gunners because their task is certainly possible, However, I am not neutral so I would say to Jay and his fellow gooners, save your money or give it to a worthwhile charity like the Eastlands donkey rescue centre, as title number 19 is winging its way back up the M6 to its rightful home.

Cheers, Dakey

Dakey,

Harry got mugged and it seems he returned the favour today in Newcastle.

Saw your analysis of the race to the title.  I agree Spurs are out...we were longshots even 2 weeks ago and needed to win today to keep in with any chance.   I never thought City would go the distance and today reinforced that view (although pointswise they have a chance). I think Chelsea are more of a threat than City as they have had their bad run and could go on a run of back to back wins.

I don't think its relevant to merely focus on the total wins or losses that need to happen to bridge the gap.  I think Chelsea and Arsenal can catch Utd.  For Chelsea it comes down to the two head to head games and for Arsenal their game against Utd is critical as well.  For Chelsea they need to win them whereas Arsenal just can't lose.

Say Chelsea turned over Utd twice while Arsenal won those weeks and otherwise the results were the same...title to Arsenal.

In saying that the opposite is true...Utd beat Chelsea and their hopes are gone.

Utd are clear favourites but I wouldn't be too cocky as the one thing this league has shown this season is that just when you think you know whats going to happen, it doesn't.

Shane

Fellas,

I am still trying to catch my breath after that! I can understand why you would all think that you still have a chance after that first hour, We never turned up, never got going and not helped by Fergies baffling formation in midfield Blackpool were magnificent and were all over us like a cheap suit. 2-0 up should have been 5 and denied a blatant penalty to make it 3-0. A few changes and suddenly I was watching a different team and that my friends is why all your hopes will come to nothing. It does not matter how much we are outplayed we just will not lie down and accept defeat and it happens too often to be coincidence. a team must have it deep down in their soul to keep doing it time and again and like beautiful football it is something special when your team has it.

Dave, Blackpool must be sick to death of Manchester clubs because you did exactly the same to them earlier in the season when they played you off the park and you nicked the win, again courtesy of some dodgy decisions. I hope they stay up as they are like a breath of fresh air to the premier league.

In conclusion, thats it, no more games in hand (except one to the bitters) everyone knows exactly where they are and whats needed, so bring it on and whatever happens lets hope it is more of the same stuff that everyone has produced so far.

Cheers, ( a very relieved, but happy, Dakey)

playing with 12 men always helps . 3-0 and it was all over. 2-0 and you could see it happening. so put a bet on after the ref refused the blatant pen- easy money.

Georgeh,

You seem to be able to spot a good bet when you see one, slam all your winnings on Chelski not winning anything this season. should clean up there mate.

If my memory serves me correct you are a Chelsea fan and you have conveniently forgotten the six points referees handed to you last season against us that allowed you to nick the title by a point. Wasnt complaining about decisions then were we?

Even though I am a Utd fan, I can see the significance of that penalty decision on the overall picture and I feel for Blackpool who were brilliant, but how you can say you seen it coming baffles me as up to that point we had done nothing to suggest we could turn it around. The catalyst was Ryan Giggs, Fergie is going to have to work some magic to replace him, but not yet!

Cheers Dakey

I think it comes down to the fact that the male refs aren't competent!!

Wembley here we come!! Well done tractor boys what an effort they made. I think under paul jewall they will be fine, how could they be so poor must be Roy keane !!!! Dakey your mob got outta jail last night and why all must admire their spirit they do tend to get the rub of the green in nearly all the games they play. It certainly appears that way to most of us. On the giggs issue I don't want to see it happen but I'll bet it will... Utd will sign bale he's the ideal replacement I know you don't want to hear it Shane but I'd be a worried spurs fan when giggs goes eventually. Cheers Jay :-)

Jay, it would take a lot of money to get Bale but the top clubs are willing to spend that if they will get someone who will improve their starting team, and I think Bale would do that for most teams.

So Spurs need to spend some money in the summer to show Bale why he should stay.  I'd love to see them splash some cash on a top striker (offload a couple of Pav, Keane and Crouch) that can play upfront alone supported by Bale, VDV, Modric, and Lennon.  A top class fullback and/or Goalkeeper would be nice as well (not asking for much I know).

We have our squad now so no squad signings are going to help us.  We need world class players to make a statement and improve the starting team.

A miracle cure of King and Woodgate would be great!!

That's a great photo and what's really weird is that I never realised that Max from East Enders was now  a referee's assistant!

Hey, Georgeh,

Interesting article that isnt it. It says that Torres is looking to sign for a club challenging for major honours....... Is he going to use Chelski as a stop gap in the meantime then?

Cheers, Dakey

Well at least liverpool fans will be pleased to know he has made no mention of the fact that he may wish to join the milk cup winners.

Georgeh,

Chelski are the only club to show interest, thats why he has asked them to look at your bid, he is desperate to leave Liverpool, you only have to watch him play to see that. I only made the light hearted comment in jest but due to your reply let us study it in a bit more detail. I will not mention the 33 domestic trophies we have won, 18 titles,(inc 11 premierships) 11 FA Cups and 4Milk cups ( as you call it). Whoops sorry, I have mentioned it That is one more than Liverpools 18 titles 7 FA Cups and 4 milk cups, making us the most successfull domestic English club in history. But lets not go back that far, lets concentrate on the six years that your sugar daddies pennies have projected you onto a level you have never been on and frankly dont deserve to be on. We have both won the title 3 times each and I would have a small wager that we are about to make it 4. We have been in 2 Champions league finals, winning one easily. We also have a 3 milk cups and you have a couple of FA cups if I am not mistaken. Sorry for the rant, but I think you get the gist, we have more than met and matched the results of your instant and Vulgar wealth, indeed we are going through the same thing again with our bitter neighbours. At least your wealth bought you trophies immediately and I credit you for that. Our Neighbours are 3 years into being the richest club in the world and are still searching in vain.

Finally, you have bid a reported 35mil for Torres a 10mil striker at best on his form of the last 2 seasons. That is one thing you get rich quick teams have in common, vastly inflated prices for average players. long may it continue.

Cheers, Dakey
