Chaddy,
That is a summary of someone with the I.Q. of a dead moth with no head. We have won the community shield more times than anyone but are one of the few clubs who dont count it as silverware, unlike the likes of Liverpool and now ,apparently, the bitters.
Let me give you a summary daubed with a speckle of reality, We start off with 4 main trophies and we play a reserve team in the least important of them, the league cup. We are now out of that courtesy of a trip to the home of the European Champions, but well done to the reserves for a valiant effort. ( A trophy that you exited earlier by the way with a near full strength team AT HOME!)
Now, down to the serious stuff, We are well placed in the league ABOVE YOURSELVES at this moment. In the CL we have maximum points and are practically through to the last 16. You are almost certainly out again already and have a mighty job on your hands to earn a Europa league slot. mind you after your showing in that last year I think it would be better if you skipped it this year altogether. I will concede that you are on level pegging with us in the FA cup purely down to the fact it hasnt started for the top teams yet.
So, in conclusion I think we are handily placed in the competitions that matter to us and your season so far is a total disaster and I think most people who have just a scant knowledge of football would concur with that!

I know Kev because let's be totally honest without him you'd be in terrible trouble. The facts are mate our best player from last season is now your best player by quite some distance. I'm hoping that our knowledge of him will hold us in reasonable stead but as we know his movement is very good. I would say that another 7 goals from us will do the trick but then I remembered last year!!! ;) Jay

The fact that RVP scored both of your goals last year means that as far as players on the park are concerned you have to turn around a 10-0 scoreline. I know football is a funny game but have you improved that much and have we gone backwards? I think the answer to both questions is a resounding no. So in conclusion, as much as I have developed a soft spot for the gunners, I think you are in for a tough time tomorrow but you never know in football.

I have just seen your last post and have to disagree with you. Wheras in your team RVP was practically everything, in our club he is most definately a splendid addition to our fire power, but he is just another cog in a well oiled purring engine and we are quite capable of mounting a challenge without him if nessessary.

I think whilst UTD were a better team in both games last season, the team we had to send out against you at O T was weaker than any other team selected throughout the season even though RIP was in it. It was a resounding win for you lot and a humilliation for us but a game that for me was well out of context so those figures quoted don't do for me mate and we would of won it if RIP had scored the penalty early on in the game!!!! :)
On RIP, check the stats on assits and goals in your big games so far this season...............you'd be fecked without him mate and as good as he is on that basis your challenge bearing in mind the defence that you now have unfortunately leaves your challenge precarious at best. I get no pleasure from that as the thought of chelski mopping up makes me wanna puke.

Some good points, not that I agree with them all though. On the stats front we would expect RVP to make a major contribution as he is a top player, but we didnt have him last season and someone else did the job. The stats for last season is that we finished level on points with the Champions and some 9 points better than the year before when we won it! So I maintain that we would still challenge without him, dodgy defence or not. We have only had a dodgy defence for the last two years as we have had practically every defender out long term for that period. Finally, RVP is keeping Chico out of the starting line up and we have seen two games on the trot at Chelsea just what a dangerous little blighter he can be when given a run.

No arguement with Chico as he's a terrific finisher and links up reasonably but is not the linch pin up front that all football fans know that RIP is. Utd did do well last year to almost win it but my view is that was as much down to Citeh bottleing it towards the end albeit under UTd's pressure.
Tomorrow will be a great game no doubt with both teams playing it the right way and it will come down to weather we can keep RIP quiet in all aspects of his game and also if we remember to bring our teeth up the M6 with us!!
My prediction will be that Santi Carzola will play in the hole and may cause you a few more problems than you might expect. I have booked a table in the Hungry Horse for some food and a few pints for me and mine tomorrow lunch time and I'm right looking forward to it.

I hate losing to anyone at anything, but Just like Spurs and Everton, Arsenal come in to the same category, proper clubs run correctly and try to play the right way so if we do come unstuck then I will hold my hands up and say well done. I really dont know where this new found admiration for the gunners has crept up on me from, perhaps it is the fact that there are a couple of loathesome detestable clubs now on the scene who make it so easy to dislike them that the things that we used to compete about are now much lower on the scale of things, so I can now take a more detached unbiased look at teams like Arsenal and like what I see.
Enjoy the game Jay, but hopefully not the result.

You will forgive me if I enjoy this one!
First, Jay, I am going to start with some nice comments about Arsenal. The last 20 minutes with ten men your team showed some bottle and unbelievably could have nicked a point at the end there. Also the travelling fans, just like ours at Chelsea in midweek were brilliant never stopped singing all game. I often think the atmosphere in the travelling supporters end is the best atmosphere in football and it is what makes our game great.
I must say Jay that Wilshire deserved his second yellow and sending off but the referees are begining to embarrass me with some of the other stuff. How in the name of fair play can he give Cleverley a final lecture instead of a second yellow then a few minutes later send off Wilshire for a similar tackle? It is just baffling mate baffling.
Right having said that, if you had been on the end of another 8 goaler at 70 minutes you could have had no complaints, what frustrates me sometimes about Utd is that with 20 mins to go against ten men they start playing keepball instead of going for the jugular. Do they not remember we lost it on goal difference last year! we may live to regret that.
Now, in case you have all forgotten, when we lost to Everton I and my team were subjected to what can only be described as ridicule, we were rubbish, we will never win anything again etc etc. My considered response was that we would be ahead of the pack by 10 games in and most certainly at 38 games. It may have escaped your attention but today is 10 games in and we ARE ahead of the pack! listen and learn fellas, listen and learn!
Finally, how the bitters are not fighting a relegation battle with the dross they are serving up is beyond me, they just cannot keep on fluking results week after week after week, can they?

Dakey Respect is due nothing out order with what you said at all. My opinion..... The last thing we needed was a scuff/air kick from our captain which turned into a perfect pass to our former captain.....a certain sitter after two minutes. We could of wished no worse a start and set the tone. Utd were first to everything and we were set up incorrectly from the off. Ramsey is not a right winger and Walcott scored a hattrick on Tuesday...... At this rate he's outta here in January which could cost us yet again. As for the ten men thing yes cleverly should of gone but wilshire sithed RIP before that and Fergie decided to hook cleverly off and Wenger left a frustrated jack runnng around unabated so a managerial error from our end. My final point on the game is that 2-1 was infact a flattering result from an Arsenal point of view and that was disappointing because I actually think that utd aren't all that. We were abject and did not have a shot on target within the 90 mins. Both Arsenal shots on target came in injury time when Utd had it well won. Simply not good enough. We might be a self sufficient model but we need more heart and desire than we saw today. On up note Im glad I live where I do cause I ended up with some proper old Skool geezers (west ham, sp*rs and Gooners and we watched the swans unlucky to get a draw with the chavs and the irons unlucky to only get a draw with Citeh) which has slightly lightened my mood.
