If l'arse finish 5th(unlikely as they have easy games and everton have a tough run) and l'arse win the fa cup then how many teams in the pl qulify for the europa cup? I think it will be 2 more so 7th will be enough? If l'arse get their normal 4th spot and win the fa cup then the does the fa cup loser get one?confusing. anyway all eyes on the big game on sunday, swansea v cfc

The factors for CL qualification need to be looked at. League placing is all very well but that leaves us with frankly an embarrasing situation every year. Take City for example, they played both Bayern and Barca over 180 minute contests home and away. They got absolutely battered in all the games and were never in front at any time in the ties. The small bit of respectability they achieved came at the end of the ties against Bayern once the Germans had switched off they were that far in front and closed to within a goal, but even then the manager couldnt count to realise what was required. Contrast that with Utd who played the same team and were actually ahead after 150 minutes of the 180 and level after 160 minutes when Rooney inexplicably missed the chance of the tie to take us through. Now despite the fact we have struggled generally in a transition year who would you all trust not to make the PL look like mugs next year? Its a no brainer Eufa so come on, City are like a 3 pin plug useless in Europe, change the rules and omit these serial losers on unearned income and keep the proper clubs in doing the business.

Dakey, I've already stated that you'll gain a place as Greg 'impartial' Dyke has changed the rules so that you qualify via the Away Prem Table. Also due to your ranking (last 5 years) you will continue for sometime to come to gain an easy group stage as you did this year (if you ever do get back in) but let's face it, the first decent team you faced this season wiped the floor with you in both games, it was only your park the bus fighting qualities (sadly lacking in so many games this season) that gave you the chance to nick it the way Chelski did the season they won it (which you constantly deride).

They nicked it in the last 20 minutes of a 180 minute tie, we had been in front twice and De Gea hadnt a shot to save of note. Some teams have wiped the floor with us this year they were not one of them. All I will say is god help us all if our CL places relied on your record, it would be about 50 years before any of us got near it again.

I did notice that in those tables that are supposed to be our 'lean' years there are quite a lot of 'last 16 here' and 'knockout stages there'. Now if you put up a history of Citys excursions in the CL it would be just a few years long and a tale of woe in group stage failure that could just about be fitted on the back of a postage stamp. I think the kindest thing to do would be for Eufa to allow clubs to decline the invitation to play in it and that would give you the chance to do the honourable thing and save English football from annual ridicule.

"Dining at the top table" Mmmnnnn! lets have a closer look at that. It is well documented about your abject failure to make an impression in Europe and anyone with half a brain cell can see that. On the domestic scene, when you fluked the league a couple of year ago on goal difference with the last kick of the season you were banging on to anyone who would listen that the future is blue, everyone else was also rans and you were about to embark on a prolonged period of domination. What has actually happened is ONE Capitol One cup and nothing else. That is why for your club it is essential that you win the league this year, because frankly my friend one league cup in two years when the money has been invested to win the bigger trophies is absolutely catastophic! There is simply no other way to describe failure on that scale.

Whoops!!! Bit of a slip up there eh Chaddy & Dave et al. I dont know about feeding from the top table, fighting urban foxes for scraps round the back of the local kebab shop more like it fellas. It is obvious that half of that squad are being carried by the few top class players you have bribed with a kings ransom to play for you. Now with FFP kicking in even Chelsea have admitted they have to sell before they can buy and they generate more money than you, so it looks like the decline is gaining pace down at the Emptihad as no one will buy your highly paid rejects. Since you last fluked the league on GD, there have been two further campaigns. We have won one and it looks a toss up between Liverpool and Chelsea for the other. Jose was refering to Arsen Wenger when he offered the comment "Specialist in failure". That could be equally apt for your little club. Talk about flatter to deceive, it is very very amusing to watch though.
