Destry, probably best to seek detailed advice from a legal source in that regard as it appears open to interpretation.

Mickeyfinn, please don't refer to colour of skin in this debate as its inciteful and unnecessary. Many from the working classes have genuine reasons for feeling vulnerable from uncontrolled movements relating to proliferation of zero hours contracts, lowering of wages, raising of rents and housing supply etc which have already been debated in this thread and to once again generalise in that manner  appears wrong.

P.s. The UK is proud to welcome migrants but what is being requested is the ability to regain control of the pace of movements and to have better factoring mechanisms in that process, to suit the country's needs and to ensure we have an infrastructure in place to adequately cope without causing undue pressure which can lead to a breakdown of cohesion.

Brian, it is sad to see you sinking to the level of the less bright contributors on this forum when you say people must be on drugs etc.  It looks like you have decided to be the purveyor of sensibility and political correctness today but falling short of good manners.

By all means trust politicians but hold them accountable.  Nicola Sturgeon is pointing out that she remains in the dark entirely about Therea May's plans if she has any.  I find that staggering.  That I am in the dark as a British citizen is unacceptable but that the leader of a country within the UK is in the dark smacks of a dictatorship or more likely that the government has no plan to leave the UK unless of course the plan is not to leave

Ads, who do you think is going to build the 200,000 affordable homes this year.  It won't be the unemployed from Jaywick Sands that will travel to get work.  It will be Polish plumbers etc.   The working classes have nothing to fear.  Their salaries are uneffected by immigration.  There is lots of work in the UK and loads of opportunity to seek better employment prospects through training and education.  But people are not going to get six figure salaries for breathing.

The sorry state of the U.K. Is that there are a lot of people who relish blaming EU migrants for their own laziness.

Unless I have read the signs wrong the government can't tell anyone anything about the plans because of the stages and need for negotiation, and the fact that they don't yet know enough to release information anyway.

Nicola Sturgeon knows the trigger is late May, she also says that they were told the only way to stay in the EU was to vote remain in their own referendum.  I am confident that Nicola has nowhere to go with her referendum threats now, she knows the EU can't take them as an existing country member, she knows the U.K. Are leaving, she also knows the Scottish economy will not support its people in the manner it's currently working at.

the only thing she can do is rattle and hum.

Drugs:  I merely enquirer if the other poster was on medication.   In my world that's different from saying someone is on drugs, but if facts can be twisted, I'm sure your able to do that PP.devil

Perrypower, our posts obviously crossed so I will repeat my P.s. if that's ok.

The govt still have the opportunity to say no

Nothing stopping Scotland having another referendum now they don't have to wait for brexit

7 months on still no plan no idea and nothing to negotiate

Hard soft red blue pink or no brexit it is a joke just like the vote

Sorry briando55 I was just trying to post some useful and true information which I thought was the objective of EOS forums. Of course I could always join some other members and just post bickering off thread insults.

A bit like my school report ‘’ 5 out of 10 for effort’’. ‘’Must do better’’.

The people of Scotland voted for the right to self government .  Tax raising and so fourth,  whilst still remains a member of the UK nothing else .If a seconds Indy referendum was called with the sole purpose of braking up the Union and to be governed by the EU instead of the UK then the SNP will loose.

Ha ha....Peter Ustinov had a teacher who said of him in a report 'Peter sets himself incredibly low standards that unfortunately he fails to live up to'    So we are all in good company I think

Tadd.  I don't have anything to add to the last points I made really.  The UK are leaving and a Scottish referendum will be very dangerous for SNP.   If they thought it was best, they would just organise it (there has been a very substantial change since the last one, why wait?).

I no longer think it’s case of soft or hard Brexit. I believe the EU have decided they want rid of the UK and who would blame them for that? The likely outcome is a big fat zero for Britain.

I listen to British politicians pontificating on likely scenarios for the negotiations and what alternatives routes the British can take. When in actuality the UK will get nothing Brussels does not want to concede.

It is the EU  and the parliaments of 27 other nations who are in the driving seat not the other way round. Mrs May is hamstrung by the referendum vote and the Brexit supporters in her own party. She is beween a rock and a hard place with very few real options.

The British are facing a calamity Brexit without access to a single market of 500 million prosperous people. The WTO and whatever trade deals they can muster in the coming decades is all the UK will have left.

The rest of the EU will have no choice but to make an example of Britain and isolate the country. Unless it demonstrates to other nations the folly of leaving the union is doomed.

Tadd.    I reckon the UK will leave because the vote was to leave, and the government have promised to trigger article 50  in march.   That seems really conclusive to me.

The secrecy and lack of information is simply because there are negotiations to take place.

we were just talking about Nicola sturgeon and don't you think she looks a bit desperate making demands, firstly through visiting the EU and se ondly bt threatening a leave vote of Scotland.   This is not the way to negotiate, telling everyone what your wanting and going to do, seems counter productive.

windtalker by the EU instead of the UK then the SNP will loose.

This is the type of arrogant posting that makes you and others unpopular.

What you mean is ‘’in my opinion the SNP will loose’’.

Brian

You may be right but article 50 may not be triggered it may need approval from parliament and if they can't agree the plan when it is produced then who knows what will happen

What negotiations nothing is on the table

Then there is article 127 single market exit and nobody knows what else will arise

2 months to formulate a plan debate it and agree it - no chance

Then Tadd.....come the revolution brother!

Just because nothing is on the table it doesn't mean dinner isn't cooking.  From the trigger there is two years to resolve the terms and conditions.

Something has to be on the table for parliament to agree prior to giving the go ahead for invoking article 50

Subject of course to tge Court ruling regarding perogative powers etc.
