Congratulations to Spurs on a fabulous display, thoroughly  deserved. Did you see some of those young City fans crying at the end, their parents should be ashamed of themselves, forcing them to support City just because they had before them. I think that is tantamount to child abuse of the worse kind and the social services should step in immediately before it is too late and they become as sad as their parents.

Dave,

I am not sure of the rules having never had an interest in the competition, but seeing as how Fulham had to play a pre qualifier last July, do you think our two other small clubs, Liverpool and Man City might be playing off this July for the right to enter the Europa Cup proper. What do you think?

Cheers Dakey,

One final point, COME ON YOU PIE EATERS!!!!

Well done Dan. Good game, quite a few chances, think our keeper was probably the busier.  Fair play mate. Still think Mancini has no idea what certain players in the squad can offer. Bellamy off Santa Cruz on to play up front with Adebayor and Tevez ???????

We'll have to have a cockney knees up at West Ham on sunday.

Dave, mate.

Not biting then eh? is this the new diplomatic citydave and not the one who was always up for a bit of  banter. or have your team finally worn you down to the point where you have given up on them with the realisation that no matter how much money is thrown at the project [and by god, you have thrown a massive amount in there] it will all amount to nothing as usual. it all boils down to when your owners see the light and jump ship which will inevitably happen.

Cheers Dakey

Dan,

After years of looking on the down side, it may have escaped your attention that you may not have to play a qualifier. Just to make a great season even better, if you win at Burnley and the perpetual under achievers from the emirates bottle it in their game then you would qualify by right in THIRD place. Now, wouldnt that be a nice little Brucie bonus.

Cheers, Dakey

Congratulations to all those with European interests for next season. Some of us will have to make do with watching Cartegena for a fix of Euro action

Looking forward to trips to far flung places such as Yeovil, Brighton & Hartlepool next season. At least we are guaranteed to win the most Esso tokens next season !

Still, there are always people worse off. I've heard there are some teams who havent won a major trophy for 85 years or even appeared in a final for 74 years. You'd have to be Benjamin Button to have ever seen them win anything.

I know people have been talking about the remote chance of Spurs poaching 3rd spot off Arsenal and I was one of them until I was reminded they were playing Fulham, who are more likely to be fielding their ladies team ahead of their big final next week.

Very nice to have 4th spot before the final day as I'd have hated to see Spurs passed on the line again.

But after seeing the possible teams Spurs may have to play in their qualifier it could be extremely hard work to get into the main draw.  Here's hoping for a favourable draw and maybe a couple of quality buys before then.

I know it's not the premiership and hopefully we'll get back there one day, ut has there ever been a team who put their fans through it like Leeds United. In my 35 years supporting them it's always been a case of lifting you to the highs but you know it's only a matter of time before you are kicked in the teeth. Yesterday looked like just another one of those days, but a captains effort by the much maligned Beckford has finally seen us escape the depths of Lge1and hopefully set us back on the road to regaining Premiership status.

While I know we are not the most popular team in the land and a lot of people have enjoyed our demise I still reckon if you Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Everton, Sunderland, Spurs and even Man Utd fans are honest with yourselves you would much rather two games a season against us than the likes of Stoke, Wigan, Blackburn, Wolves et al. At least we can crank up a good atmosphere and 99% of our fans are decent football people.

Anyway can watch the Prem finale today without giving a stuff as we are up.

Hi Jonew,

I agree with you entirely regarding Man Utds fixtures against Leeds as opposed to some of the other clubs even though there is a small contingent of fans from both clubs that try to ruin it for everyone else. the atmosphere in those type of games is definately missed.

One thing that puzzles me about your post is that you say that Leeds "lifts you to the highs". When was that exactly? I must have missed that 5 minutes!

Cheers Dakey

May 1992. The last team to win the league before Sky changed the game forever.. Yes football did exist before 1993........

and

3rd January 2010.

I'm sure you didn't miss either of these highs, but maybe you viewed them as lows or do you have a selective memory?

Also Chmps Lge Semi 2001 another high before the low of a blatant handball goal that changed the game. I was speaking to one of the players last year and he told me the ref even came in at half time and apologised to the team for giving the goal. Thanks very much that makes it all ok then.

Enjoy this afternoon.

Simon

Picture this conversation.

Keith Hacket [refs supremo] " now listen Martin [to Martin Atkinson, Ref, Chelsea v Wigan] A lot of your colleagues have worked damned hard this year to get Chelsea into this position so I dont want you messing it up now. Wigan will be up for it early on so you must take the wind out of their sails from the off. An early offside goal for Chelsea should settle the nerves and if you can then perhaps give a penalty and send off the defender, never mind if he is the last man or not, just send him packing then we can all settle down to one of them 7or 8 goal spankings which Chelsea can dish out once the opposition is demoralised.

Just having a bit of fun by twisting the truth just a little, congratulations to all you Chelsea fans you just about deserved it over the peice. One thing you can be sure of though, we will be back next year to claim it back!

Cheers Dakey

Hello Boys

MORMAL SERVICE HAS BEEN RESUMED!!!!!!!!

T F T O!!

Gutted that the sugar daddy backed chav's have done it again but you can't really argue with the brand of football they played this time although the way they operate will always make me sick. Despite Dakey I really wanted UTD to do it!! That's probably just down to how much I did not want Chelski to win it but hey ho!  A B C

The mob down the road have done ok and I had an smile at the irony of crouch's winner at Citeh as most of em down there have moaned about him all season and can't stand him. Still coming 4th is an achievement but it is only 4th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just hope that after 49 YEARS it's as good as they hope it's gonna be. Qualifying for a qualifier.....amazing. Nick they'd never of caught us mate. With them coming above Citeh you'll be sighing in relief because Citeh would be much more of threat to UTD, Chelski, the Micky's and The Gooners than spurs will ever be.

Wenger will finally have realised that his experiment has not worked and hopefully we'll sign at least four players + a keeper and maybe just maybe we'll perennially/perpetually be able to poke something up Dakey's ronson.

Love to you all

Jay

Lewjesdan,

Impressive statistics indeed, you forgot to mention least number of points to win it, most defeats and definately the most game changing decisions in favour by a country mile.

However, do not let this sore loser piss on your bonfire, enjoy the success and look forward to the cup final, then the world cup and next season will be on us again and we can start it all up again.

One final point though, When first Gerard Houlier and then Rafa Benitez tried to defend their records in terms of trophies won they always included the Charity/Community Shield. Even though that was another one stole from us by dodgy decisions, nevertheless it is yours, so it is incorrect to say you are eyeing a double. It is in fact a treble. ENJOY!

Cheers Dakey

The only "Treble" they should be aiming for is to treble their turnover then they'd be able to legitimately pay their wage bill!

Didn't you forget one apart from the community shield?

How about the youth cup final or do you only count multi- million pound players?
