I know you are frustrated and that is understandable, but I would still choose Arsenal, a fellow "reds do it right and ethically" society member, in a heartbeat to the other vulgar "blue spends it but doesnt earn it" society shite. Shampers has gone up in my estimation for seeing sense and stopping going to see City 5 years ago, his memory fails him though as City cannot afford to be fussy who comes through the turnstiles as they have to practically give the tickets away to get anywhere near a full house. You cannot charge corporate hospitality prices when no one is going in the cheap seats!
Shampers, I think you are fibbing about the slimline look and thatch and you are confusing Kelly Brook with Mel Brookes!

As I prepare myself for another side splitting night of CL football tonight something has just dawned on me about your recent posts that I have inexplicably missed. You prattle on about unbeaten runs and already having a trophy on board this season etc etc. You and others also comment regularly about Utds lack of silverware last season and then it hit me, the trophy you are barking on about is the revered community shield if I am not mistaken. Well I seem to recall now a momentus win against the bitters last year that brought that particular trinket home to Old Trafford. Well Well! I feel a lot better now knowing that we didnt have a barren season last year after all!

We were sat in the tea shack at break having a discussion on whether to watch Arsenal or the comedy roadshow on TV tonight. There are valid reasons depending on taste for both options, but we cant make our minds up and need help..... So what do you think Should we watch Arsenal....... or CITY!!.

Good point lads, pity you couldnt hang on for the win but you showed character and now have an excellent chance of making it through.
Now for the good stuff, my sides are splitting I have laughed that much over the last couple of hours. I dont know if it was the sight of the packed bank of Ajax fans enjoying themselves or the sight of depressed City fans with about 3 seats each to choose from. Adrian Childes even said at half time to Roy Keane " This is a CL night, where is everyone?" I couldnt have put it better myself. But the biggest laugh of all was watching the bitters fail miserably to beat a team in Sixth place in the Dutch league some 16 points behind the leaders, they are out of it (miracles of that magnitude dont happen!) after giving the worst ever showing by the English champions in CL history. The sooner we confine them back to the dustbin of English football the better.

An absolute disgrace at the final whistle and in the manager's interview afterwards. At a time like this some respect needs to be shown to officials and managers confronting them on the pitch is a disgrace. Hopefully EUFA will take more action than the FA normally do. When the tw*t calms down he'll see he didn't get a penalty because his player had hold of his opponents throat and he didn't get a goal because of a very good, if close, off side decision. Calm down dear!!!!! Start looking at the job ads again.
City have been shown to be by far the worst team in the group and are where they belong - at the arse end of the table.
Also, Dakey - right again mate. They don't believe you when you say how lacking in atmosphere the Etihad is and that it is half empty - well the ITV pundits are saying it now. An apology from our blue chums might be in order. Mind you, perhaps a lot more of them knew what was coming and decided to go off to fry some fish (hah, hah look out ML).
Well done the Gunners. A win might have looked on but a draw away to a strong German side is a good result and should set you up to qualify. A great response after a bad few days so keep the faith Jay!

You are right about Mancini, no wonder everything about the club these days is obnoxious with such an odious little man in charge of the team. He complained about not getting respect at the press conference as he had won 3 (inc the community shield) trophies in 2 years and proceeded to slag the club by saying they had not previously won anything for 50 years. I will give him a little history lesson as I have lived in Manchester all my life and he appears confused. It was 34 years not 50 and for those 34 years City, with their loyal band of about 30,000 fans lived within their means like the rest of us and operated on what the club generated. Because they havent got a massive fan base that meant they perpetually struggled to compete at the very top but they were respected by everybody including many Utd fans, despite the local banter and were actually a lot of peoples second club. With the advent of the Arab wealth Mancini may well have put a few trinkets on the otherwise barren shelf, but he has done it by just spending vast amounts of money on players and when it doesnt work he just buys more all on top dollar wages and a good percentage of them dont like Manchester and dont want to be there for any longer than they have to. Now in my humble opinion that takes away the skill of picking a player out and backing your judgement, any fool can manage in those circumstances and that Mr Mancini is why you and your now detested club are no longer given respect, in simple terms you dont deserve any!!

Spot on. It was good to see another club with a policy of trying to bring some new players through giving him another lesson tonight. All the hundreds of millions they've spent. They and Chelski are just one big JOKE! The funniest thing is, they are so painfully lacking in self awareness they just don't see it!

Been out tonight so only just played it back on the sky + Thought we did really well first half but that super soft centre and lack of defensive cohesion in injury time gave them just what they needed and it was a shame a draw was the best we could hope for after that point. One thing that proper pi**ed me right off was the ref stopping the game in mid flow for an injury to their defender whilst podolski was bearing in on goal....................WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY and then a yellow card for podolski for asking him why!!!!!!! What a twat! Jay

Roll on tomorrow, not going which Im gutted about as not been Braga, done five grounds in Portugal but not their, Ive been most aways in Europe but cained the cash in Dubai in October so having to cut back a bit, dont think we will have any issues though.

It would be nice to get the job done tonight, then Fergie has got two CL games to give valuable experience to squad players and youngsters and you cant buy that experience.... mind you, just seen on Sky news that Citys team last night had played nearly 300 CL games between them and nearly 400 international caps, so when we here Mancini bleating about inexperience in Europe etc doesnt it just make you want to weep. The guy just has no class at all, managers storming onto the field of play to confront referees and that other citadel of virtue Chelsea accusing refs of racism. The authorities should come down hard on both to set an example that behaviour like that is unacceptable.

I think Mancini needs to regain his class and stop acting like Fergiescum and Arse 'I never saw it' Whinger. After all they set the standards as Managers, the rest try and follow - pity.
So in a nutshell, not good enough for the Champs league this season, tactically naive, still experimenting and you don't have the time to do that in a 6 game league, so will have to make do with the Premiership again where you do have time to experiment a bit, as Fergiescum has proved successfully over the years and as Whinger has proved over the last 7 or 8

Unfortunately for you the one thing Utd have learned from last year is there is no room for complacency. We learned the hard lesson thinking we had it won. We most definately will not make the same mistake again so there will be no way back in for you even if you improve your current form massively. The upshot of it is mate there is not a lot left for you this season already.

We shouldn't have struggled to break down Ajax last night. I didn't at any time think we'd lose the game though. Strikers are not scoring freely. Every game has good and bad decisions and they should even out. Our penalty against Dortmund was a lot more dubious than last nights so maybe justice. 3 pretty good teams, not sure any of them could win it but they are all better than any of the teams in Cluj's group of laughter.
Fat lady singing? probably but surely she warbled a little last year before the greatest football experience ever seen " i swear you,ll never see anything like this again!". We're so poor i might stop going.

It was not only Phill Jones face it was the face of all the Utds players and staff and that is what I am talking about regarding complacency.
Ryan Giggs, the most decorated player of all time puts it much better than I can, he says that he doesnt remember the things he has won, as soon as they are won they are history and forgotten. What he does remember and what drives him on is the ones that were lost. The players remember the hurt, they bottle the feeling and redouble their efforts to make sure that they dont feel it again. That is why we always bounce back from a barren season and this season will be no exception and it will continue to be the case until the great man Sir Alex retires.
