As Utd keep on signing 'world cup winners' etc with reputations for loyalty and integrity, City sign Sterling....... a spoilt unproven brat with absolutely no ethics or loyalty.........Should fit in nicely down at the Emptihad then!

I would also like to thank RVP for his outstanding contribution in his first season and he will be happy with his PL medal that he wouldnt have got if he had stayed at Arsenal. The last 2 seasons have seen him slip back into his injury prone mode that blighted him throughout his career. The time was right to go as he was in the way of young Wilson getting more game time.

His one PL medal is more than the entire Arsenal squad have got put together, so ask RVP if the move was worthwhile. I think I know what the answer will be. As far as the transfer fee is concerned, if Sterling is worth 50 million then 26 million for RVP was a snip and a drop in the ocean for the worlds biggest club.

PS, I think you will find that young Wilson will develop into a PL great and he is someone who would never get a chance at your club because he is English!

Jay, we have 11 in our squad and have consistantly had more British players than all the other top teams. Our back up strikers Wilson and Chico are better than your main men never mind Rooney (England and Utds best ever striker) and I think you know that LVG is clearing the decks for a top Centre forward and top centre half and that will be us untouchable.

All our lads are England Internationals and that's not including British players like Rambo and our English fringe players like Akpom.
You're away off us yet and need to spend big again especially up top where your thatched granny admirer is going to need a lot of help.

Lets put this debate to bed mate, one of the players you mentioned is playing for West Ham!
Back four; Jones, Smalling, Blackett, Shaw. All full England internationals
Midfield; Lindegard, Carrick, McNair, Young. Two full England internationals, one England under 21 international and one NI international.
Up front. Rooney, Wilson. Englands captain and one England under 21 international.
That team would finish in the PL top half comfortably and probably qualify for european football. End of debate!!

I see Real Madrid have topped the list of the worlds largest sports franchises again with Utd in 5th place valued at 3.1 billion dollars. That is half a billion more than the combined value of both City and Chelsea who are our next largest in 29th and 31st places, with Arsenal a distant 36th. In planetary terms we are a Jupiter while the rest are Plutos.

That is quite funny.
I have been watching the Greek fiasco on TV and I thought their PM was just another left wing pillock until he told the EU that he would pay back both the current proposed 80 billion euro bailout plus the 320 billion already owed and all by the middle of next May..........Then I saw the PL odds with Utd at 5/1 and he is going to bang the lot on the mighty reds and solve the Greek problem in a stroke and still have 80 billion in the bank. The man is an absolute genius, its the nearest thing to printing money you can get.

Valdes refused to play in the stiffs and he is history. That is how top managers operate King Louis is like Fergie in that respect, Cross him at your peril.
Contrast that to the Tevez affair at the bitters the other year when he refused to come on off the bench. City performed backward somersaults to appease him and stop him leaving when he should have been on the first plane out. That is the difference between proper clubs and clubs operating in a false position. Simple.
