This is going to be a long one, Dave. Firstly, I did not expect that, 7 days on Condado in August, pissed on for 4 of them followed by the worst rain I have ever experienced in Spain on the day we were coming home. Missed the flight as we could not get off the resort. Ripped off by Jet 2.com for a flight to Bradford/Leeds then £100 taxi to pick up car from Manchester. The day we played golf on Friday the 13th gale force winds ruined the game, how I scored 45 points I will never know! missed the captains day due to missus wanting to go to Murcia. Anyone would think she was on Holiday as well. [ By the way, Thanks Rob from Murcia Golfing Breaks for not turning up with the golf clubs, we wont be using your poxy company again any time soon! it is a good job my good neighbour Steve Daly lent us his clubs so we had two sets!]

Now on to the good stuff. I am so excited about the look of our new Squad, Lets analyse. Sir Alex pays £6 million for Tocsic, never plays him and sells him for £8 million. Then spends 24 million on 3 brilliant 20 year olds, Smalling, Hernandez and Bepe. An absolute masterclass in prudent football management.

Contrast that with whats transpiring accross the City, under the last two managers. Eyebrows were raised when Hughes sold Citys best player, Dunne for £6 million and replaced him with Journeyman Lescott for £23 milllion! Sniggers of laughter then followed when Mancini let his best player from last year, Bellamy go on a free to Cardiff and generously agrees to pay 50K a week towards his wages, then replaces him with a untried tempermental average player from Inter for 20 odd Million. Full blown Guffaws followed when Citys 2nd best player, Ireland goes to Villa for £9 million as a MAKEWEIGHT for £24 million James Milner. Now anyone with half a brain would choose Ireland over Milner any day of the week.

I will be amazed if City are in the top half of the table and Mancini is still in a job come Xmas. Never mind though Dave you can always loan out all his players and continue to pay most of their wages then give your new manager another £200 million or so for us all to have another good laugh at your expense!

Cheers Dakey

My lad Luke was with you on Condado for the week. He said thatas his taxi left the site, the security were not allowing anyone else off. Also the Manchester flight left slightly early???? which didn't help you rushing for it.

Enjoyed your City waffle. Come on now. Bepe was for sale last year for £100,000 Fergie payes 7.2 million. Me thinks his pension pot has been invested somewhere in a Portuguese bank. How on earth, as every season, do they manage to serve you and Chelsea the championship fodder at the beginning of the season??

I predict...........................an interesting time at Eastlands

Did you like the course?

Dave, mate

even though I have loads of stuff I want to say about City, I will keep my council for now, it is a long season with many twists and turns so I will leave you alone for just a short time while you are still full of hope.

Despite the crap weather, We really enjoyed our little stay and I must say that the condition and layout of the course was brilliant, despite it being too tough for me and Ryan in that strong wind. The other thing that impressed me was the standard of the practice area, with course like driving, putting and chipping facilities. The Clover was also jam packed on friday with a very good female singer keeping us entertained. It was also packed out on Saturday after the gala day had finished, so all in all, there was much to be positive about, shame about the monsoon and flash flood, I hope that is a one off, you dont go to Spain for that sort of weather, we could stay in Manchester for that.

Fellas,

With being away for a while at work and on holiday I completely forgot to comment on our 'thrashing' of Chelsea at Wembley the other week. The question is, what was missing from that game that was present in all three games last season? The answer is controversial refereeing decisions that cost us all three games and ultimately both trophies. That is all we ask for, no southern bias and a level playing field. If that happens you will never hear a gripe from me in defeat, I promise you.

cheers Dakey

Fellas,

What a cracking game that was, I have to say that Fulham fully deserved a share of the spoils, but Nanis' penalty was a bit of a sickener. A point, however  is an improvement from the last two seasons when we got dicked twice. Got to be happy with 4 points fron 2 difficult games to start off with. It would have been nice to have been spoon fed a couple of nailed on certainties for relegation to ease us in to it, but not everyone gets that lucky. Still everyone has to play each other twice so what goes around will eventually come around.

Looking forward to tomorrows game between Liverpool and City, even this early the outcome could have a significant bearing on the last Europa League place for next season. What do you think Dave?

Cheers Dakey

Agree bout being a big game mate. We have to gel quickly. You don't catch up easily in this league. Liverpool, like us probably have a bit of the unkowns about them this season. Joe Cole couldn't have got off to a worse start.

Nice comical one about you having a "dificult start". Could it be any easier?? One thing I do believe however, (rare bit of honesty) Chelsea and yourselves do almost always grind wins from lesser teams so to speak. All other teams around about, regularly slip up unexpectedly. Titles are won on fewest defeats, not always results between top 4 or 5. Look forward to being in the second half of the season confidently winning away from home ha ha.

Nani plays like my Nan would!      Owen could just be left on his own in the box now!   How does old man S choles get away with that late tackling???    and finally for now, O'shea in any premier league team is a joke but one near the top is baffling

Theres a couple to help you rant a bit til Jeb, Jay, Dan and the lads finish their Jollies

Dave,

You are right about our squad man John O Shea, with a bit of luck if he keeps playing as bad as he is, City will come in with a £25 million pound bid for him. It seems that is your current transfer policy, let the best players go for next to nothing, then scour the country for journey men players who are also off form, then bang in a massive transfer bid. Its brilliant to watch it all unfold though. It has put the fun back into football!

Kin Aida!!

It's the Dakey & Dave Show!!!!!

We'll we're back after having a wonderful time at CDA. Unlike you Dakey we slipped out on the night just before the storm hit so were incredibly lucky. (Sorry to hear about your grief in getting home mate). A little bit like our equalising goal at Anfield but we need  something going our way for a change. Already Nasri's out for a month but at least the new lad's managed to get back on the pitch for the 2nd half, after that "greedy monster "Cole viciously hacked him down. As for saturday all I can say is about time!!!

THEO has shown glimpses of that sort form and I know it was Blackpool and not one of the fancied clubs but he's a confidence sort of player and the more performances like that the better he will feel and the more he will score. He's never been a winger and if Arsene plays him in the channels he will scare all of ya!!

Red tinted ones Dakey ?

Can't believe how the 2 shocking refereeing decisions in the Manure/Fulham match haven't been mentioned (2 pens, one clear one not given, and one joke one given). This severely impacted on Manure's divine right to win against such a small club in that the upstarts upped their game after the shocking refeerring decisions went against them.

Japp Stump, Van Horseface anyone ......... players sold at the height of their powers because Sourpuss decided he didn't want them for whatever reasons ?

Shampers, me old mate

What game did you watch? Fulham matched Utd blow for blow the whole game and deserved the point, that is why it was a cracking game to watch. As I said that is a point gained for us despite the penalty miss as we have been beaten there 2 seasons on the bounce. As for Fulham raising their game after the dodgy decisions, I hardly think a header from the tallest player on the field from a set piece can be the result of a team raising their game, do you?

Well Dave,

Even you must be satisfied with that result and performance, it chokes me to say it but that was the best display by a Man City team I have seen since the 5-1 fluke against us all those years back. I think you will comfortably stave off relegation on that showing.... The same cannot be said of that other shower of sh... Roy Hodgson has been turned into a gibbering nervous wreck in the space of a few weeks and that has to be the worst Liverpool team in living memory. Their time as a big club is well and truely over. The red half of Mersyside will be waking up to the realisation that there are now two Manchester clubs slapping them about [in the football sense] and on that display never mind the top four they will be lucky to stay in the top four divisions! It will not be too long before Oldham, Bury, Rochdale and Stockport are joining in the fun.

Cheers Dakey

Oh Dear me, Dave,

2 poor performances out of three games does not bode well for the richest club in the world, does it mate? At least Tevez has nailed the miss of the season, no one will get near that one thats for sure.

A thought just occurred to me, If Newcastle sign the exotically named striker, Wolfswinkle and he starts well, will the fans think he is the dogs bollocks?

sorry for that one folks, I couldnt resist.

Had to leave Sunderland game bang on 90 mins cos of a taxi, didn't find out til 2 hrs later we lost. I was gutted we had drawn!!!!!! Excellent 2 performances agains Timisoara with our second string. 6 players in England squad ( i'm not enjoyin that.

When are your lot gonna play a team from the top 16 in the league. How do they feed you this every season.

2 games against Rangers will be enjoyable. I need 20 tickets for old trafford game??

Six city players in the England squad, then four selected to play by 'Tommy Cooper' Capello, just days after city lost to the mighty Sunderland. As an England fan I am utterly depressed, I can see no light at the end of the tunnel and a few qualification wins against nomark teams will not change the situation. If you select habitual losers, when it comes to the crunch you will inevitably LOSE! Do you agree Dave?

Nice angle Dakey. We have some good conflicts of opinion opportunities here don't we!! You like England but worry that almost all future England teams will have at least 5 of our wonderful young stars and not bothering who beats England.

We,ve got plenty of tickets next week for the Rangers game at your Swamp. Not too sure we'll get caught jumping up and down much though. Chance of maybe taking a point at Ibrox.

I am gobsmacked after that finish, but looking at the big picture, 2 away draws at Fulham and Everton where we lost both games last year is probably a positive, although it doesnt feel that way at the minute.

I love Sir Alex to death but for the life of me I cannot agree with the decision to leave out our best player because the opposition crowd might boo him! if that is the criteria he wont play Rooney again this season.

Never mind, no matter how deflated we reds feel, it could be worse, we could have spent upwards of £350 million pounds and just lost to Sunderland and then drawn with Blackburn! It is important to put some results into context isnt it?

By the way I am not concerned by Chelseas start, it would not be possible to give them 4 easier games to .kick off with, it would have been a surprise if they had dropped a point from those fixtures, lets see how they perform when it gets a bit tougher before we start handing out accolades at this stage.

Hey Dave

Its all gone quiet, is something the matter?

£ 350 million Quid spent just to lose at Sunderland and draw AT HOME with Blackburn! No wonder Ricky Fatton is snorting Cocaine. Your new owner will not be keeping his youthful good looks for long at this rate, he will soon have that haunted, haggared look that all you long term blues seem to have. [Hee, Hee!]

Just a hiccup mate, 17 shots on goal couldn't find the net and a flukey one at the other end. It happens. You must have upset all of your old mates on here, cos none of them are biting. I,m off to Salzburg on thursday morning after watchin Rangers on Tusday night against your shower. Once a year is usually more than enough. Dear oh dear!!!! young mister Rooney. You'd need hours to explain whats wrong with that guy

See if you can Entice some of the boys back. I was sure Jeb would have given you stick about Saturday. Another cheatin ref blowing up just as Everton were gonna pop the winner in

Hi Dave,

To answer your points in a mature fashion, Rooneys just a young boy having a bit of fun, whats wrong with that? I see Collen has been reported to have said " I cant live without Wayne" typical media did not finish off the sentence, it finished  s' money". The Lady in question took £1200 for full sex with him which is not that much considering his looks. She is a bit thick though, she would have got more by selling him 7 packets of Marlborough fags!

As far as Moyes is concerned, nobody heard the whistle with the crowd roaring them forward, certainly not Jagielka who completed his shot, which was saved by Van Der Sar. I can understand his rant if he had scored, so lets not get paranoid about that. If we are within 4 points of Chelsea after this weekend after playing Fulham and Everton away and Liverpool as well in the first five games, especially given their opening fixtures, I will be satisfied.

I must admit, You could have a bit of banter on here a while back, but nobody seems to bother these days. It appears they are all resigned to us cleaning up this year after last years hiccup. I can understand you all thinking "whats the point?"

Cheers Dakey
