Jay,

You are correct, no one who supports Utd are proud of the Glazers involvement, that is why there is massive protests against them ongoing.  I Still cant get my head around how they were allowed to put a down payment in and then borrow money against the club. either you have the money to buy it or you dont. our model has always been to generate our own income globally and provide affordable entertaining football. That has not changed, considering we are the flagship in the league regarding size and trophies won, we are still in the middle of the season ticket price band and a hell of a lot cheaper than the top London clubs. We do however, have to pay the Glazers interest payments and also try and pay down the level of debt and that is difficult whilst trying to remain competitive at the top, but we are managing it quite well so far. In fact, I think we are the prime example, along with the Gunners to a lesser extent, that there is another way to be successful apart from the vulgar, win at all costs 'sugar daddy' route.

I have got a novel idea, Chelsea want to move to a new 60,000 seater stadium at battersea power station. Why dont they build the Stadium with two pitches side by side, share with City and play the home games on the same day. That would mean with the Chelsea and City fans and boosted by two sets of away fans, then they might just fill it now and again! Now, now lads, just trying to help.( and that would mean that George could watch both his teams at the same time)

Cheers, Dakey

For once most proper fans seem to be in agreement.

Football has lost its soul and not lets forget Blackburn started it!!!!!

Dakey has a point no Utd fanis happy at how the club was hijacked and the debt the money that the Glaziers pais was transfered to the clib on the basis we can all by a club.

Most years the team with the most wonga wins the league and I suppose this is no different(except the Arsenal years that is) Either Utd generated income or Chelskis donated millions and now the Arabs have come nothing changes.

European footie has always been different and experience is key look how bad Everton failed the year they made it. I do hope all the british bassed teams get through and an interesting draw to follow who will get the big game madrid or barca.

Another weekend with us closing the gap I hope to follow have the shift in the Bar of the Arsenal game as normal.

A few surprises this weekend maybe?

Neil

Well Fellas,

We can debate club ownership, debts, who is the best team, who plays the best football etc etc all we want but one thing never changes for all of us and that is p.ss poor poxy officials! there is no point going on about it though as this week it is our turn to be robbed, but as sure as eggs is eggs it will be someone elses turn next time and I dont know what can be done about it. Newcastle can feel a bit aggrieved with last weeks result at City where they deserved something out of the game, but like me they will be both thanking the linesman and wondering how the hell they got a point yesterday at O/T. got to put it behind us now, so come on you scouse brothers today!

Cheers, Dakey

Oh, if only we'd never lent the rags, a ground, a kit, and a Matt.

Dakey lad, it's simple maths in that if you'd been 3 up against the toon, then a dodgy late goal wouldn't have mattered

Cheers

Back to our magnificent best own goal then managing to pull one back at home to Fulham not really a top 4 result ( my fault Jay for being to optimistic).

Dakey live with it we all have to the Toons deserved a point out of the game as a whole and the last 10 of domination U had was afte they went down to 10 men.  All neurals would say shared points fait

Intresting today the Scouser seem to be alble to raise their game for the big ones so hope they get a point.

Bloody Spurs again - it about time they got some injuries or suspensions I hope their for cant go on.

Great day for Chelski - John Terry completed 90 mins without abusing anyone and a whole wek without shagging a team mates other half so the ENGLAND CAPTAIN must be on the up again!!!!!!

Firstly R I P Gary Speed what an absolute shocker. Seemed like a lovely guy with everthing at his feet. Something must have gone terribly wrong for the fella and it's very sad. Condolences to all of his family and especially his two little lads.

Dakey

Utd were certainly unlucky with the penalty and threw everything at Newcastle but there's always at least one of those type of games a season and Newcastle probably deserved their point for their sheer heroics in defence. Their keeper looks better everytime I see him and that Ben Arfa is sure to be a target for other sides at some point. Newcastle are suddenly looking like they really do deserve to be where they are currently and were unlucky to lose at city last week in my opinion.

Arsenal my oh my!!!! What a lack lustre performance.Simply did not have enough about them to break down a well organised Fulham side. Very disappointing.

Got a couple of £10 tickets for tuesday's quater final with Citeh so dangling them in front of the kids in an attempt to get them to be good for a couple of days!!! Be interesting to see how weak a team we put out against the billionaires and I cant wait to let the chinless little frog get his earful!!

Have a good week boys & girls

Jay - agreed on the sentiments to Gary Speed, a true proffesional and someone I knew when he was at Leeds - A year older than me and it really starts to make you value life. Best wishes and thoughts to his family at this time!

Back to the football - A City self destruct performance - scoring for Liverpool so soon after taking the lead and then playing with 10 men to cling on for a point when all 3 were there for the taking!

Dakey, your post again has me in hysterics, Newcastle certainly did not deserve to come away from the Etihad with anything and its about time an incorrect decision at OT went someone elses way! Newcastle certainly deserved their point there. We are all agreed though on the officials decisions that are impacting the game! Also makes me laugh you cheering on your scouse brothers - Great!

Jay, The game this week will be about who has the strongest second string on on that basis I will predict a comfortable win for City, however if Venger is giving up on a couple of the other fronts and plays a strong 11 then who knows?? Either way will be interesting.

Tony

Fellas,

I agree with everything said about Gary Speeds life and achievements, but I am going to be a little contraversial here. I knew someone who committed suicide and left a wife and children and the trauma and torment they then endured resulted in the older son committing suicide in exactly the same manner as his father. Gary Speeds life is an example to everyone and is undoubtably inspirational but his choice of death is a despicable cowardly selfish act that will see his family suffer from for the rest of their lives and my sympathy and feelings are all with them and not him.

That's a brave comment and know where you're coming from, but maybe they can take some solace in the fact that his turmoil is over and that he himself must have been suffering to do what he did ............. but you're right in that ''it's the ones left behind'' that have to live with the 'why' and the 'gap' for the rest of their lives, us onlookers can merely comment without knowing.

And it puts football into perspective as well

John Terry has been interviewed by police about the alleged racist comments to anton ferdinand. Terry said " I am devastated, I cant believe that anyone who knows me would think I would say such things, that would be like accusing me of sleeping with my best friends wife!!

You are so wrong in your comment

Contrary to what is commonly said now I dont feel it is cowardly to take your own life. You are normally extremely ill and desperate and it is very difficult to take that final step and do it.

I have sympathy with his family and close friends but you have no right whatsoever to judge Gary Speed or anyone.

Keep it to inane comments about football here

Paul

Paul,

I have no wish to enter a debate with you, I have a right to have an opinion that differs from yours and I have a right to air it if I choose, just as you have a right to defend someone who has taken his life out of the blue without giving his family a reason and thus condeming them to a lifetime of torment. That is my last word on this subject.

Firstly will not comment on the debate about the death of Gary Speed my sympathy is with the family and I am not qualified to judge. We have just lost a good football man!

Footle time

Have no idea what teams will play tonite but city will be sure to have 11 internationals, I bet the players are dreading seeing their names on the team sheet tonight because it will tell them that they are second string player. I think that The Arsenal will play a strong team tonight than in the last group game of the Champions League as we have Already QUALIFIED TOP. Did enjoy the police escort of the pitch for your madman last game he cannot be trusted to behave.

As a londoner that does not support Utd I will be willing the might Palace on they way Utd are play and with a few changes they have a slim chance and lock forward to the upset.

Neil

Mornin Jay

Got back at 3.30 up for work at 6.30. Its amazin when its a win you can manage it easier.

Agree our big fella and Kolo were very good. Chamberlain had a couple of long range efforts but lacked in the box a bit. What's happened to Chamakh? he looked so good when he arrived. Very well worked goal.

If you're like that with poor young Sammy, you'll see your arse with Robin van man when he comes over!!!

I'm not biting!!

It was a good goal, we twice naively dived in on the edge of your box which left us short on your break. The goal kind of reminded me of one our style of goals but I must mention it was your only shot actually on target and that was the 84 minute.

If that's your multi million 2nd string I feel relieved that our self sustainable version is as good if not better. Thats why we all left the ground proud and very positive about the future. I'm actually looking forward to the league game now I think that there's not a bigger a gap in quality as people may think despite the billions spent by your mob.

Incidentally the atmosphere was brilliant last night so in a way I would like the little greedy chinless twat to visit us every week!!

Hope your day's not too hard on ya.

Jay
