We still have things to achieve this year mate, OK we are not now going to get the record points total of 95, but we are on 27 wins with 3 games to go and 29 is the all time record. Also the record margin for 'other' clubs is 12 points and both of those current records are held by Chelsea, again we are 13 points clear with 3 games remaining. It is a tall order to equal the record of 18 points held by our great treble winning team but the 12 points margin for other clubs is certainly breakable and then we will have the two best points margins of all time. Add those two to the record number of individual goalscorers in a squad which we have smashed this year and we can enjoy the summer cricket with a great deal of satisfaction, despite bent turkish refs putting a dampener on it for a wee while. To put the top hat on it will be for two properly run clubs, Arsenal and Spurs putting one of the morally bereft clubs to the sword meaning that 3 of the 4 CL places will go to clubs that deserve it and with FFP looming that can only send out a good message going forward that you have to earn your way forward not buy it with easy money, so I think for once most people will be willing us to smash Chelsea today and I hope we can oblige.

dakey, i am happy to lose today as long as we win wednesday , for me thats a far more important game
jay, i am sorry but i seem to remember you lot alwayas winning 1-0 and being very very boring
jose went for a different reason. he wanted control and dint want schevchenko forced on him, clash of the titans and he lost. but the great man will do a uturn and bring the messiah back. what the great man has done for our youth set up is amazing. we now have the most talanted set of juniors ever. we have been in 2 youth cup finals this year whoch proves the point.
the messiah will come back and even if we only win the europa league again who cares. no other english team has ever won all 3 euro majors so thats the goal.
and to think dakey calls the charity shield a major is hilarious. shame youve only won 1 type of euro cup dakey. we have 2 different types in the bag already.
jay get down the souvenir shop and buy yourself a large tin cup for having the most french players in a london team. cant think of anything else you will ever win.

Again it seems that I will have to offer up some salient facts to the situation as you seem, like some mischievous journalists, to be somewhat confused about what a full set of international club trophies actually is. Utd are the only club with a FULL set of trophies as follows; European cup WINNERS cup, European Cup (old format), Champions League (new format) and the World Club Cup. I dont include the Europa league as it is not a major trophy as it is for LOSERS and FAILURES only so the top teams hardly ever actually qualify to play in it.
Now for your club, You have won the European Cup winners Cup, and the Champions League, but to my knowledge you have never won the European Cup in its old format and you have never won the World Club Cup, so you can hardly claim to have a full set of anything really.
Also, I never, like most Utd fans, counted the Community shield as a trophy until Houlier and Benitez at Liverpool and now Mancini at City started counting it to try and justify staying in their respective jobs. So they cant have it both ways, It cant count as a trophy for them and at the same time say that for us it is just a friendly.
There, I hope that puts that nonsense to bed about full sets that are only in reality, half sets.

Also, Jose did not leave due to a power struggle with the owner, it was well documented at that time that Abramovic was not happy with Chelseas playing style of winning ugly. He was jealous of the style and panache of both Utd and Arsenal and demanded that his purchased club win with the same style. Mourinho failed to deliver on that score and was summarily despatched to the dustbin of Chelseas football history. It looks like he has changed his mind in that any win in any manner will now suffice as that is what desperation can do to your principles.

I am ashamed to be a Utd fan tonight and its not because the players have sub consciously switched off since winning it and it is not because of Webb swinging the other way to show he is not biased towards Utd, it is because of the absolute disrespect our manager has shown to Arsenal, Spurs, the premier league and every one of the 70,000 plus that pay good money to go and watch them.
When interviewed about his team selection beforehand he said " I have to give those lads a game as they have not played much lately" what sort of a decision is that?? We had 4 players voted into the team of the year by their fellow pros and Fergie decides to leave 3 of them out and left out Rooney again as well. He bangs on about respecting the other clubs then pulls a stunt like that! If I was a gunner or Spurs fan I would be spitting feathers tonight over that and if the FA had any balls they would start Utd on minus 10 points next season to set an example.
And George, before you come on here crowing, if you hadnt beaten us today in those circumstances then you never will.

Dakey Anyone that puts on the shirt should play their hearts out. When they are also well rewarded for doing so it should further the motivation. Not many could claim that today. Very disappointing.

We have been concentrating on bigger things or havnt you noticed? We have left the domestic tin pot cups to teams who have fluked their way through by drawing lower division teams at home. It is time for the lttle pie eating Wiganers to step up to the plate and secure their premier league place as well as lift the FA cup and I will be one of many who will be cheering them all the way.

What an entertaining game that was between the two domestic cup winners this season. It looks like nerves got to the Wiganers and now it looks lost for them. It wont be the first time that a team wins the FA cup and gets relegated so they must thank their lucky stars that the opposition in the final is really not all that good.
Bit of speculation this morning surrounding the great man because of his hip operation in the summer and timing is everything in football. It has been obvious for some time that Jose has been touting for the Utd job and was just about to settle for a distinctly second best at the Bridge, very interesting, If he had a choice its a no brainer. One club who sacks successful managers after 6 months or so, or the biggest team in the world who stick by their managers for ages through thick and thin. Who would you choose from those two options given the chance.
