Happy New Year to you all.

Lets hope 2013 is all we want it to be.

Arsenal's inconsistency is drving most Gooners mad at the moment but even without RIP we're in no worse a position than this time last year in real terms and with our recent run of 4 straight wins which got us a bit excited....until yesterday; that was!!

Fairplay to Southampton though because they played well and defended excellently however Wenger is still not ticking the boxes for me. Yesterday he again started with Theo upfront (no doubt under pressure due to the contract situation) but against a very motivated and physical team with big centre backs I think he got it tactically wrong and should of started with Giroud instead.

Finally for the last few games Sagna has been awful and yestrday was directly responsible for the saints goal with a left footed attempted swipe which was nothing short of sh*te and more or less set them up. He also was awful against newcastle letting Obertan amongst others beat him with ease and then fire dangerous crosses to attacking magpies(admittedly being marked by a unsuspecting/sleeping gibbs). So come on Citeh you usually buy our shite, come and relieve us of him so we can get Jenkinson back in the side lively.

Good luck to Harry's boys tonight, always had a soft spot for the only proper club in west london.

Cheers

Jay

I'm gonna take a chunk out of that!!

You know where you'd be without him mate and so does everyone else!!

Check the stats on goals and assists and do the maths my friend.

You are now totally a one man team and Wenger has sold you a shot at the title but i've gotta a sneaky little fealing that could well end up in tears

Still a long way to go and you should know more than anyone else on here that he who crows first does not crow last!!!

What would happen if anything went wrong with RIP??? I still think based on Citeh's average form to date that you're little cushion might not be enough and they're looking better now and don't have the CL to focus on mind you won't have it for too long in my opinion.

Jay,

You had him for 8 years and never managed a trophy, we were without him for that 8 years and won everything. In his own words he feels he is now surrounded by a team of champions and that is the difference. I have to say though that RVP and Chico look a nice little combination and when Rooney slots in behind them we will be unstoppable. Rooney must be pleased that someone else is sharing the burden as he has carried us to trophies almost single handedly since Ronaldo left, something that RVP never managed at Arsenal. That is why he left and chose us, he wants to win things before he retires. If it was about money he would have chose the bitters. I have the feeling that this squad is shaping up to be world beaters like a few of our previous ones.

Who would have thought after the euphoria of last year that City and Chelsea would be out of everything that matters by January and have only the FA cup to realistically contest. Unlike you Jay, I cant see where a challenge is coming from. Citys best player is going on holiday for 6 weeks and their second best player has just done his hamstring. Who is going to step up for them? Sinclair? Rodwell? they will be lucky to end up with a CL place. Chelsea, with Rafa in charge will not figure prominantly again until he goes and the rest are too far back.

Cheers, Dakey

Nonsense!!

When old Sir Red Chops is as animated and stressed out as he was last week; that's when you know the heat is on!! I think he's finally gonna wilt and he's severley underperforming defence this season will be the key to him finally throwing it in at the end of the season. He's shot his bolt on RIP and there's nowt left for the creeky old defence and midfield.

Like I said Citeh are going to be more of a force second half of the season than they have been so far and I don't think you're going to get away with it the way you have been so far this season. Time will tell but I know how I see things panning out and I predict a lot more of the "Fergie plot losing" episodes over the next few months which will be enthralling.

Jay,

I know it must be stressful supporting the Gunners these days but I think you're the one who's lost the plot. Have a break in a dark room for a couple of hours.

Jay,

Come on mate, you accuse me of talking nonsense... I said that we had won everything in the past 6 years or so, without RVP we have won 4 leagues the CL, CL finals and the World club cup among smaller cups. I said Arsenal had not won anything with RVP and that is correct. He is without doubt a massive bonus to us, but he chose us from any club in Europe he could have gone to, we dont have to apologise for that just like we didnt apologise to leeds for stealing Cantona. Just because you might not like what I say doesnt make it nonsense mate, just concentrate on your football and City and Chelsea are there for the taking, I promise you.

Jay, Neil,

I have no doubt that RVP will always have affection for the Gunners, but last season he looked in the mirror and saw grey hairs appearing in his barnet and decided that at 35 ish he wanted to look back on some silverware in his cabinet and came to the conclusion that it was not going to happen at Arsenal. Being the top player he is he had the pick of the top european clubs and could practically have named his own salary terms, but for the purpose of his desire to win things he chose Man Utd over everyone else and I for one am happy he did. If he ever felt any doubt over his decision it was surely put to rest yesterday when Ryan Giggs absolute peach of a pass from nothing landed inch perfect on his masterful toe. The fact that his first touch and finish were both sublime matters not, it was the fact that he has team mates who can produce such wonderful service and are born winners that will have warmed his heart and convivced him that the next five years at the theatre of dreams will be absolutely unforgettable for him and for us.

Meanwhile, back at the emptihad, An Argies wife packs up and trots off back to Argentina with the kids, sick of Manchester, and the player is linked with Real Madrid as he is homesick even though Madrid is nowhere near his homeland, different player, same story..... Does the script ring a bell there? can the goings on at that club become any more chaotic than they already are?

I see Chelsea have started on another run of good form, It will all come crashing down in a few games time as Rafa rotates his winning team by leaving out the wrong players at the wrong time. Dont say I havnt warned you George, that is what he does and long may it continue.

Over reliant Dakey!!

You can't and won't keep getting out of jail indefinitely.

From our point of view yet again ZONAL marking is our undoing. How can letting a team have a running/jumping head start vs a static standing jump leave you anywhere but at a massive disadvantage. I just don't get it!!

Their second goal seemed to go in slow motion why Arteta did not close down and the worse of all turn his back.

Grrrrrhhh so frustrating after getting our noses in front with two excellent goals.

We relied on Rvp to much and now you r doing the same. If he gets a injury you problems will start and you have got out of jail to many times this season. 7. Points seems a lot but remember last season long way to go. You don't hear spurs fans gloating like last season they learnt a
Lesson so should you.
As far a we are concerned jay is spot on we have scored loads its the defence and the system that just does not work and needs sorting soon. Watch yesterday just new that the last one was coming. We a a defensive coach at the least bould is not up to task
Still waiting to see what the window will bring it like waiting to open presents just hope I'm not disappointed again.
Great result for All the smaller clubs that got through I love the fa cup

Neil
Ps happy birthday jay

And here was me thinking RVP was out of the game for 12 months following that viscious assault a couple of weeks back..

Right then, i've done my 2 live games for the season, Liverpool v Fulham & City V Watford, nice bit of hospitality at both, and have to say they were both very well hosted, but i can't believe how much interest and enthusiasm i've lost for the game, i think i need the Coco's like Dakey to actually get me going. Sat with a Chelsea fan yesterday, he was the spitting image of Tim Nice But Dim, but wasn't called George, and he'd made the error of taking his son to his first Chelsea match when City beat them, so his son's now a Cockney Blue ......... YCNMIU

Happy New Year everyone, detox for 8 weeks now

Neil,

I agree you relied on RVP too much, but it didnt do you any good as you won nowt, that is why he left you and that is why he chose us over better financial offers. We relied too much on Robson, Cantona, Keane, Van Nistelrooy and Ronaldo, among others. When we lost those players, to the ABU brigade it was the end of us but the opposite happened we just reorganised and got stronger. As much as we are over the moon to have him contrary to common concensus we are far from a one man brigade, we have scored almost 50 goals this year out of a total of nearly 80 already where RVP has had no involvement and despite the brilliant strike the other night from Giggs pinpoint pass, it was actually our second best goal of the night. Cleverleys classy finish was the culmination of an end to end 10 man flowing move and in the euphoria of the late equaliser has not even got a mention. I get the impression watching the man that he has been freed from carrying an average team and is now like a kid in a sweet shop. I can see nothing but glory ahead for both him and us.

One slight blot on the horizon is the continued inabilty of our centre backs to actually mark a man and jump to head the ball clear. If that isnt sorted soon it could well come back to haunt us.

Just a final point, The Fifa team of the year has just been announced and for the first time there are no players from the English premier league winners. Doesnt that say a lot about the present incumbents.
