For those of you who are wondering about the road. They have put up railings and notices saying only residents of Don Juan can use the road. We came Monday and they have done nothing and we have seen no lorrys diggers etc. Someone put a few stones in the huge craters that have developed at the bottom of the road. We are here another week I will write again if there is action.

On a more positive note  the apartments are having the grey bars and the white grilled utility rooms painted. The weather here is good right now.

Thanks for the update of nothing being done. No surprise there. Someone should put a sign underneath their sign saying " WHAT ROAD - FOR 9 YEARS THERE HAS BEEN NO ROAD. IT'S A POTHOLED DIRT TRACK."

Sadly it looks like the company who was to fix the bouleward has run out of gas. Hope they will be back soon.

But here is some information about foreigen residents registration on the Padron register. It is for Mijas but the same goes for Fuengirola. 

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR FOREIGN RESIDENTS:

The Town Hall encourages citizens to register on the Padron. Their aim is to increase the registered population in Mijas in order to qualify for more state economic help which is granted according to the amount of registered inhabitants – meaning more services for Mijas residents and fiscal benefits for those who are registered. The procedure is very simple and can be carried out at the Mijas Foreigners Department in Mijas, or in Las Lagunas or La Cala taking with you your proof of ownership (rates receipt) or rental contract of property and you passport and NIE number. At the same time you can also register on the Electoral Role that will enable you to vote in the Local Elections.

Trains will be running 24 hours every 20 minutes from 1st - 5th April. No service 6 + 7 April.

For those of you with kids, a Go Kart racing track is to be built near Plaza Mayor. Having said that, if it's anything like the completion of our road, your kids will have grown up and claiming their pension by the time they complete it.

A park for dogs opens on Friday
Fuengirola opens the largest park for dogs in Andalucía on Friday at 6pm. There will be a dog skill exhibition to open the site and presents will be given to owners who take their dogs. Specialist commercial stands are also being put up for the opening.

The park between the motorway and Calle Alcalá Galiano in Los Pacos has 5,400 square metres for the dogs to enjoy.

There are railed off areas for muscular development, playing areas with approved elements, a green area for running, and section being called ‘pipican’.

The Mayor of Fuengirola, Esperanza Oña, said it was ‘an electoral promise kept’, and noted that it had been designed and developed with the advice of experts and at a cost of 42,000 €.

The diggers were back today widening the road.

Arrohabitatge went into voluntary administration in November 2011. Maybe the Administrator can advise you on what stores are available and the price.

In Phase 1 smaller stores were 3000€ and larger ones 5000€.

We intend to visit Barcelona this summer. We have found a hotel close to Camp Nou - but not sure if this is the best area for sightseeing in Barcelona. Will we need to spend hours in busses/trains to experience other things than football?

Barcelona is really nice. We really enjoyed visiting it. I've e-mailed you some detailed info but we used the open top buses to get around - you just get off at the sights you are interested in looking at then get back on the next bus when you're done.

Nou Camp is a bit out of the centre but the tour buses visit it so you will be able to join them and see the rest of the city from your hotel.

Somewhere near the Sagrada Familia cathedral is a good spot to stay. Watch out for pickpockets around  the Las Ramblas area.
