I did it of course. We now have 30 Amp or 6,6 -6.9 Kw (the difference being the complex question if Endesa already calculates with the 230V standard instead of the 220V). In reality your Amp rating is the only relevant thing as it´s not very interesting to know that it´s delivered at 230 instead of 220.

We have now a larger supply than is allowed according to the ´boletin´ which everybody when they signed the paper. Officially you can only exceed your ´boletin´ when you get a new inspection which is a costly affair but I found a way around it.

The process itself is not very difficult and went very smoothly. From agreement to actual installment of the main switch just took a few days, but that goes for all our dealings with Endesa. Very fast service always now that we understand the process.

I don´t recall the extra fixed charge for the extra capacity, but it was quite low per month. It would not be interesting as well as the two beds have a lower rating already so they can´t get to 30 Amp I think. So your mileage, read pricing, will differ.

The costs for the whole operation was 90E.

Hope this helps,

Max

I checked as well and paid in 2009 before the upgrade 4,4 kw at 7,56E per month while we now pay 9,75E for 6.9 KW.

Our total is a lot higher of course and we have a different tariff than Irene which for us works out a lot bettter. The conclusion however is that the extra capacity in our case is 2,3E per month.

Happy to pay that and use all appliances we need.

Max.

This may be of interest.

Amazon.co.uk extends free delivery to Spain
Amazon has just celebrated the purchase of Spanish internet retailer www.buyvip.com

Top internet retailer Amazon, which has just purchased the Spanish online retailer BuyVIP, seems to be preparing to enter the Spanish market. BuyVIP says they will keep their name and independence following the sale, but now www.amazon.co.uk has announced free delivery of items to Spain if the order is over 25 pounds sterling, about 28.60 €.

Last year Amazon.co.uk extended the range of items available for purchase in Spain to include clothes, electronics, home and garden, sports, health and beauty and even do it yourself, in addition to the usual books, music and DVD’s.

Landmark court ruling against abusive clause in Spanish mortgages

 Oct 18, 2010

The banks and savings banks affected are expected to appeal against the Sevilla court's description of a widespread clause as 'abusive'

One of the battles that many Spanish mortgage owners have been facing is the clause in their contract known as ‘cláusula suelo’ or the ground clause, which stops mortgage payments being reduced below a certain level despite the fact that the Euribor interest rate on which the contract is based, has fallen to a lower level.

Many members of the public think the clause is a trick used by the banks, and on Monday there was a ray of hope with a court ruling for the first time that such a clause is indeed abusive. The court calls on the BBVA, Caixa Galicia and Cajamar banks to eliminate the clause and stop using it.

Consumers associations have long called for a law to regulate the practice, and note that the sentence issued on Monday by the Mercantile Court 2 in Sevilla is not a firm one, and the banks can now appeal to the Provincial Court in Sevilla.

However if the sentence does hold it would mean that thousands of mortgage owners in Spain could benefit.

The ADICAE, Bank, Savings Banks and Insurance Users Association has commented that the sentence shows ‘the increasing sensibility of the courts to a serious economic and social problem’.
Research in 2007 showed that 97% of those taking out a mortgage did not fully understand the contract they had signed.

The ADICAE considers that in many cases it is the ‘cláusula suelo’ which has awarded the banks and savings banks their nearly always exaggerated profits.

Currently the Euribor stands at 1.42%.
52,000 homes were embargoed in Spain in the first quarter of this year.

I'd like to join with Dermot in his message of condolence to Lynne and her family. John will be sadly missed by a lot of people - Carvajal will never be the same again - but Lynne and Ronnie's lives have been turned upside down.

Gone but not forgotten

Here a translation from the swedish Costa del Sol paper "Sydkusten"

Lets hope for the best.

Delayed promenade becomes legal case

The delay of the new promenade at
Carvajal has been subject to a legal notice.
Fuengirola municipality by lawyers suing
State before the Federal Court Audiencia Nacional,
with the requirements of that, six years overdue project
implemented. Under an agreement between
authorities in 1995, the State would pay for the
Part of the promenade adjacent to the

This one has been here 3 times this week - The police have told the owner to make sure she stays away but she seems to prefer the taste of our plants to the ones in the valley!!

Hello all neighbours,

We're already 9 days back from Spain and had a great time with 14 sunny days and 4 cloudy and bit rainy.....

Chris painted our rusty balcony in the right colour. For interested neighbours:

Esmalta oxidante nr. 909 perla gris with a bit emucril nr. uni 120 negro

You can mix the paint untill the right colour, our balcony looks the same, but now without rust!

We bought the paint at Pinturas de Andalucia, Carretera de Mijas, on the road from Fuengirola to Mijas, I think you will all be able to find this, also in that street are Peugeot garage, Bo Concept, Imperial (sold out) etc.etc.

Our neighbour Pepe also bought in that shop the yellow and creme paint, his balcony is looking as new!

Hope this will help you when you need to paint your balcony too.

In Spain I also have the numbers of the yellow and creme paint, forgotten to take it with me to Holland.

We wish you all the best and better weather at Don Juan,

Corrie

No snow in Fuengirola but if the torrential rain on Saturday and again today is any indication it could be a long winter here as well
