Hi all,
Regarding the oven racks's we are trying to order one for some clients. They are impossible to buy in the shops so we have to order them from the manufacturer.

We are willing to buy more but I learned something from the group buying snagging action so we will only do it for existing clients. It's too difficult to establish who is who, keeping track of changing demands, invoicing unknown people etc. Sorry about that but it turned out to be a major hassle with people changing their order, failing to confirm etc

So if you are already a client or prepared to sign a keyholding agreement you can contact us at wetakecare.es@gmail.com and ask us to order one.

Yes Max, according to a letter I got from Endesa the Potencia Contratada I have is 5.75 kW.

There is useful info in English on the Endesa site at the following link including a calculator to estimate one's total demand :

Hi Gericom,
If you have a 5.75 contract then you will pay about 1.25 times as much on monthly fees as fixed costs (on top of your actual usage) but that would still just about 10 Euros instead of 7 in my case (4.60 contract) so not a big issue.

The compensation is that you pay an extra charge if you exceed your contract. In our case it was an extra 5 Euros over two months so for people with a holiday residency it's not worth upgrading unless you experience problems.

RG, to pick up on the 2nd half of your post although the Spanish have discovered e-mail the concept of replying has not yet become popular! Although I am not currently in Spain I understand 1 informal meeting has taken place and another is planned for this week but it is difficult to report on progress because there hasn't really been any. Max can speak for himself but I would judge that by now he is a tad frustrated

A tad frustrated? You reckon!
It's utterly frustrating if you try to get things done smooth and efficiently and really no one cooperates. Neither the suppliers (english, spanish or dutch: it makes no difference) nor the administrator nor the Spanish bureacracy react the way you want. It's like wading through honey and it doesn't even taste sweet.

I'm often very supportive of my new home country, but there are times that I really get fed up and this is one of these moments. I will report on the actual 'progress' in the AGM thread. This was just blowing off some steam.

Further to my previous post re electricity bills I have now succeeded in registering on the website of  Endesa so that I can view my electricity bills online in English and modify details such as address etc.
The link to the website is as follows:

http://www.endesaonline.com/CCI/Hogares/default1.asp

I have also been in touch with Fuengirola town hall to establish the official address of Don Juan so that I could notify the postal authorities.   This is the reply that I got back which in my case refers of course to Block 1:

According to the Municipal Departament of Estadísticas, the street has recently been given a name. Therefore, your address is as follows:

C/ Sierra Nevada, 1 – Edf. Don Juan Pablo I – Bloque I – Semisótano B
Carvajal – Los Boliches
29.640 Fuengirola (Málaga)
España

Should you still have problems with the Post Office, please, ask them to contact the “Estadísticas” Department.

Ayuntamiento de Fuengirola
Departamento de Estadísticas
Plaza del Ayuntamiento, 1
29.640 Fuengirola (Málaga)

Ph.: 952 58 93 00 (Estadísticas)
From Monday to Friday, 9 am – 1 pm.

We hope that the above mentioned information will help you to solve your situation with the Post.

Hi Gericom I tried registering online at endesa but they require that you have a paper bill to hand when registering online as they need the bill number / reference but seeing as we are not as yet receiving mail how did you go about this?

Well, I had the same problem when I tried first, however I did receive the very first invoice from Endesa showing the connection charge etc.  I used the number from this invoice when I tried to register but I got an email back saying it was not the correct number. So after exchanging a number of emails about the problem and sending on a copy of the first invoice to them I suddenly received an email saying my username and password were accepted, somewhat to my surprise I have to admit!

 Hi All.

Has anyone imported furniture recently from England to Don Juan ?.    I have looked back through the previous threads, but without reading everyone I was unable to locate the info.   However it probably would be out of date now.

If you have sent furniture over,  could you possibly give me an indication of costs and any problems that you faced,  many thanks,          Bevron.

Hi Bevron,

I sent all of my furniture over, and it cost around £90 per cubic metre, we have a 2 bed apartment so this works out around 13-15 cubic metre's. we also used there storage system in Malaga which was around 100 euro a month until we completed. Any further questions please PM me

Donna

I came across the  Terrazas de Torreblanca forum and reading it you could be forgiven for thinking it was Don Juan. Dodgy developer building more units than he had a licence to, trouble with utilities and the town hall refusing to issue the 1st Occupancy Licence!

At least we're not alone........

If I understand correctly the developer for Terrazas de Torreblanca is the infamous Aifos! Now that is one company I would steer well clear off!

This may seem like a silly question, but if the postal service don't recognise our development, where the hell are all of our bills etc being delivered to.

Max, can you put a message on the board to let us know what the different options & costs are for getting the satelite dishes installed, and I presume we will just have to buy our own sky box and viewing package ourselves. I would have thought this would be the fairest way.

Just some information for those of you that are not resident in Spain. I contacted the bank that we have the developers mortgage from, to make an enquiry. Out of the blue she told me that I had not signed an important document that has to be signed every 2 years. Its called "Declaracion de residencia fiscal" I presume this is to let the Spanish tax authorities that you are not living in Spain. She told me there is a deadline to fill in this form, or the mortgage will be cancelled.  Does anyone have any further information regarding this. I would have thought that even if you did not take out the developers mortgage you would have still had to fill in this form.
