Hi Irene/Max

Perhaps between you a great evening could be organised to get as many neighbours together as possible. Just advise when and where and we will be there

Hi all,

As this is the chit chat area i believe this is the right place for these questions.  Having read the recent posts on the 'request for an extraordinary meeting' forum, there appears to be an effort of some individuals to discredit the committee.  My question is, 'How many members of the developers family or friends have an apartment in phase 1 and 2'?  Do we know who they are?  It appears to me that from past posts that Arrohabitatge would benefit from getting control of phase 1 and 2.

My wife and i believed that this complex would be good place to retire. Indeed the area and scenery are breathtaking.  What destroys it is the bickering of individuals bent on destroying the work of dedicated people willing to give up their own time and money to work for the community. OK so they don't all live there on a permanent basis, but you must have known this when voting.  Even so these people still devote a large portion of their time to the committee.

I say you had your chance to be voted in but chose not to.  You must have then voted for the present committee.  These people have decisions to make and some may be unpleasant like dismissing contractors.  OK so this time a vote should have taken place, but what were they to do when complaints were flooding in about areas not cleaned.  Or were only the areas of permanent residents cleaned?  In any case its done and lessons will be learned.  Was legal advise given or taken before the action to discontinue the contract?

Max, its good to read positive action from you again, good on you.

Have fun everyone, we will stick with caravanning for a while longer. Happy holidays.

 Hi Firefighter,

I know quite well who owns what and who is related to the developer. I can assure that you that none of the people who signed for the extraordinary meeting is related to Arrohabitatge. I'm also sure that none of the posters on this forum has conflicting interests. Be assured that I am very sensitive to the risk that someone would use this forum for business reasons.
I will leave it to the committee to answer the question about legal advise.

I would say that there is no reason not to buy or join into the DJ community. There is a request for a meeting: nothing wrong with that. It shows democracy at life and that lots of owners are really interested in their property and their community. A lively debate is much better than ignorance and silence. It shows this is a healthy community so don't be afraid of joining it. As long as owners actively participate everyone can be assured that we maximize the value of our properties.

Max

Hi all

We are coming over  this weekend to hopefully lay astro turf and fit a gate (time permitting) is there anyone who can give me a contact name or number for a hire company as I need to use a whacker plate to flaten the soil? I have also been looking for gates in the major centres but the place I was told to go to was AKI but they never seem to have them in stock.

Cheers

Jim and Joan

Bauhaus has lots of machinery for rent. Not sure if they have a whacker plate though. They also sell high quality garden gates.

(you find Bauhaus by following the signs on the highway going to Malaga)

Below is a sign that I would like to see in all of the lifts, and the notice board, to try to stop these idiots that are too lazy to get off their arses and use an ashtray instead of throwing their lit cigarettes over their balconies onto the Garden area of the apartments below. Could one of the committee members let me know if a laminated sign could be made up for this. If not, I would be more than willing to do it for you, and bring them with me on my next visit.

Westport

PLEASE DO NOT THROW YOUR CIGARETTE BUTTS OVER THE BALCONIES.

A number of owners have complained to the committee regarding damage caused to their artificial grass at Garden ( Semi Sotano ) level. This act is also a danger to the people residing at this level, especially to small children who may pick up the lit cigarette butts. Please use an ashtray.

This could lead to legal proceedings being taken against offenders for damage to private property or personal injury.

I think that some of the offenders could be people renting apartments and I feel it is up to the landlord to stop this sort of unsociable behaviour happening. I can remember that a list of do's and dont's was discussed a few months ago, has this list been finalised, if so it should be emailed and posted to each owner at DJ.

Regards, Andy

Hi everyone,

We're looking forward to coming over in a couple of days and wonder if you good folk could help direct us to the best place to buy the following;

Gas regulator and bottle

Strong weedkiller. We searched high and low last time for the kind of stuff you can get here in the UK that zaps weeds and keeps them out for 6 months or so. I'd bring some over with me but you can't fly with it.

Thanks, Michelle

Hello

Advice needed if possible.

The kitchen sink in our apartment takes a very long time to empty to the point where if you leave the tap running and the plug out the sink will  still overflow.  We have had a handyman out to it who has plunged it, put soda down it, but it is still the same and he said that the problem may be within the party wall.

I have tried the administrator who do not seem too interested apart from informing the insurance company (i have had an issue on another apt with an insurance company that has been going on for 14 months now!).  The apt has only been used for a total of 5 weeks since newly built but one family used alot of fat in the oven and may have put some down the sink (only guessing)..

I need to sort this out and any suggestions would be gratefully accepted but I have 2 questions.

1)  Has anyone else had the same problem?

2) In England we have a strong unblocker called Mr Muscle, does anyone know the Spnish equivalent of a heavy duty unblocking agent and where can I get it from?

Many thanks

srs

 Hi SRS & Michelle,

There is a very strong sink unblocker available in AKI and same with the weed killer. Weed killer in Spain is called Herbicida. I got some from the garden centre down the Camino de Coin road i think its called Vega (the garden centre that is!) the weed killer I used came in a green and yellow bottle I think it was called Total but not sure. You can also get it from AKI but they are 50% more expensive.

I put some of this stuff down a waited a week or two and it didn't seem to be that effective so I got another brand which was half the price and put this down and since then all the weeds are dead and apparently according the makers they will remain so for about 6 months to a year!

Unfortunately I can't remember the names of the products but will have a look again when I am in AKI next.

Gas regulator and bottles are available at every Repsol petrol station (no other garages).

Thanks RG, I went to AKI and got some unblocker.  Hope it works!

Whilst I am asking for guidance can anyone help me on tthis one?

I have renters who want my apt on a long term rental.  Does anyone know where I can find a long term rental agreement in English?

Also does anyone know the referencing procedures or have any other tips on how I go about it?  Any info regarding any aspect of the rental will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

SRS
