Oh My goodness, just having a general browse through the messages, and after reading this one I've got a hankering for Marmite on toast. Trouble is I've got none in. Can't get the taste out of my mouth, am going to have to get some. I like this thread.

I am glad i am among friends...i thought i was the only person who liked the stuff...nobody else in my world can abide it..they think i am very strange loading onto toast..strating eating it when i read it washigh in a certain chemical which is helpful in fighting the big C...not tried the Guiness version but will tomorrow..

If ever you run short, give us a shout and we'll ship some over for you....by the box load!
Another suggestion.....par boil some potatoes, mix in a bowl some olive oil and marmite, drain the potatoes, sprinkle with salt and then toss in the bowl of oil, roast in hot oven for 45min - 1 hour........result - roasted marmite potatoes.
Tip into a bowl, sit in front of the tv and tuck in !!

I love Marmite too, saw an ad in the weekend papers, they have produced 300,000 jars of special edition Marmite with Guiness.
In the shops (selected ones) from yesterday.
Now that could be interesting on toast or tatties!
Better than my whiskey marmalade sarnies Smiley!

Hi Fibby,
My aunt used to live in sutton, I think it was carshalton??? going back 35+ years so i was very young!! that was very posh then.......

For sure it is, not that posh would bother me as I'm a country boy at heart, probably the reason why I'm buying inland in Spain rather than the coast......although I do have an eye on a nice little pad in Santa Pola !!

Yes, that's me, posh in Sutton!
Carshalton is just up the road, now if i lived in Carshalton Beeches, that IS posh........
I have been know to be called Mrs Booquette now and again, but once I open me gob, they know I ain't post at ll!
