Hi philansy we are apt 33 top floor but in our English contract there is no mention of either ! Think we have all got different things being said to us. James said no one was getting kitchens as the builder got fed up with people on other developments trying to pick and choose different styles, as we all have different tastes dont we. But he said we should get wardrobes in one of the bedrooms, just couldn't say which!

Its all a bit of a mess really isn't it

Thanks for the info philansy. We have already got into our minds we wont be getting them now anyway. Just the apt will be a start!

We face the back road  but our plan is so faint we cant see 34-38 at the front. We must have a bad copy!

Thanks again JPD (John & Trish)

Hi, I've just emailed Palmera asking for an update - they have replied to say they don't have any good news and the work hasn't yet re-started.  They said I will probably receive a letter from the main Palmera office in Malaga shortly.  If I hear anything else, I'll let you all know.........  Why can't they just finish what they started!!!

Have just phoned Malaga office after reading your mail ciao. Tried to find out what this letter was all about.  Girl in customer services said their management and the builder were going to have or might have already had a meeting.  Then they were going to produce a letter.  She thought in about 2 weeks so not much point rushing home at the moment to check the post.  Hopefully it will outline the starting of the build seeing as Misty has seen new materials turning up and two workmen on site and the crane in action again.  Lets not give up hope yet!

Ciao, you're obviously one of the lucky ones!  I too e:mailed Palmera (in Alicante) earlier this week for an update and haven't yet received a reply.  I wonder why!  And hi JPD, we've only just joined the forum but it looks like when we all eventually get into our apartments, we are going to be neighbours - we're in Apartment 28, back of building, top floor.  After a 3+ years wait, I think the first thing we all need to do when we get there is throw a party!

Just had an email from a friend out in Almaradi saying that the work in progress at the moment is only to the roads and the pavements around the complex which is nearly complete now, however apart from the crane being serviced and some glass panelling delivered nothing much more is happening, he’s coming home end of  Oct for a month but has promised to update me regularly on any news + or - .

To be honest - any time after February now would be great. If it's before, we're going to really struggle to get out there what with Christmas then our Wedding mid February.

Hi all you long suffering amarioners.   I'm just back from a holiday in the Almoradi area and have been to the Urbasa office in Almoradi. I spoke to a Spanish lady who has memorized a script as to what to say when one of us contacts them. They are starting work in the next month and have been doing so since April. I asked her how many weeks there are in the Spanish month because to my reckoning there must be nearly 52!! She came out with cash flow story, then the selling of land, the builders finishing another job. I then asked her where the other job was, her reply, after some hesitation, was to say they were in Almaria. She took a chance on my not being able to go there and check. After a few more harassing questions she came out with a fresh angle to say they had put the work out to tender. I left the poor woman in a bit of a state to say the least. I know she is not to blame for the delays, but, hopefully she will report back to her superior in the mood I left her in.                                 My next stop was Palmera in Alicante to meet James. This man my be honest he has never given me a definite date or any assurance to say Urbasa are not going bankrupt. When I asked him about the work going out to tender he said it had been out since April. He said the reason Malaga office were dealing with the matter was that the directors were based there. I may be a bit cynical , but would this be a way of directing the problem away from him? If the promised letter is not hear soon it will confirm my doubs about  James

Nice one haydngj

I hope that little rocket where the sun don't shine, let's them know that we are still here. It's a shame that they aren't in striking distance from the rest of us. I sent a not so friendly email to Alicante on Friday, ya never know, i may even get an answer.

Let the party begin (well maybe next year) ;-)

Regards

skinner (Dave)

Hi all, interesting to hear about being able to take Urbasa/Palmera (?) to court in January.  Not sure about everyone else but I think my preferred route would be to start negotiations at that time on some form of compensation.  As mentioned in an earlier message, not all apartments it seems are getting kitchens.  There's an opener for 10.  Don't sign until a kitchen is fitted and as a good will gesture, they can supply the white goods as well!  Might be a long shot but if you started buying 3 ½ years ago like we did I'm not sure now that getting our money back, with interest, is going to buy us a 3 bed, 2 bathroom property now in this area.

Definitly strength in numbers so lets keep the pressure and the pestering up and bring on the party!
