So much time has passed now since this mess started.  Does anyone know what is happening to the unfinished building, I dread to think what it looks like now. With it being so close to completion I'm surprised another developer didn't come along and take over the project.  Are Urbassa still operating/building other developments?

I was wondering if there was a way to find out what assets Urbassa has to give us more ammunition in court.  We have not been financially able to hire a solicitor as all our money has been sucked into this black hole.

With so many members in this group it's a shame there isn't something we could have done as a collective but the greedy solicitors wanted money on an individual basis even though we are in the same boat.

Hi,

Glad you finally won.  I've just been wondering how you are getting on with getting your money back.

Also, is anyone else currently suing and getting close to winning.  We wanted to take legal action but never had the money to pay the solicitor fees.

Hi

I have been away from this web site over the last 3 months due to relocating to Singapore for my husband's job so I am now catching up with the latest events. It seems that nothing has changed since I was last on here.

It makes me sick to think of how much money we have lost on this. To make it worse, I actually remortgaged my house to pay the deposit so I am now paying this back to the building socieity with nothing to show for it.  I may as well have shoved the money down the toilet and flushed it away.

We decided to not take the group legal action in the end as I felt they were asking for far too much money and we needed every penny for our relocation.  Having looked at the recent posts, there doesn't seem to have been much movement on this either.  If there was a cast iron guarantee that we would get our deposit back I would borrow the money from family but it seems if Urbasa go bankrupt, we will not get anything anyway so that would be another €2000 thrown away.

I can't believe the cheek of Palmera asking for a further €10,000 for an alternative apartment.  Do they not have a cell in their brains that tells them how insensitive and insulting this is.  They should be offering us an alternative at no extra cost.  It's like 'oh, never mind the £20k you've lost already, you won't mind giving us an additional €10,000 will you'.  Arrgghhh.  And whatever happened to their 'agents fee' we paid them, which was to see us through completion.  Have they offered to give anyone this back due to incompletion of contract?

Also, is Spain completely full of crooks?  Is there any lawyer or someone who is honest, god fearing (not that I'm religious), trustworthy, non-criminal, not on bail, not trying to rip off hard working brits who are just looking for somehwere nice to go on holiday.  Is there anyone who we can trust who will get us our money back without ripping us off further in the process?

I would really like to find a way to get our money back but if someone said, kiss your £20k goodbye and get on with your life, you will never see that money again then maybe we can all get on with our lives.  I just hope that everyone involved at Palmera and Urbasa who have ripped us off die horrible deaths and rot in hell forever!!!!!

Rant over.  Now I feel better.

Thank you for reading.

As it's looking less likely this buiding is never going to be finished, I would now also like to join the group.  I know we have all tried to meet up before but if we can sort something out (central to everybody) then that would be great.

I am concerned that I am throwing good money after bad as financially we are not in a position to lose any more.  If you can get an idea of how much it's going to cost to get things going, that would be great.  If their fee is 10% of the monies we win back then I'd imagine that this will be 10% of everybody's combined win (if that makes sense).

Also, has anyone had any luck getting their agency fees back from Palmera, because lets face it they've done bugger all to earn the £2,534 euros they took from me.  We also paid a surcharge of 3,485 euros for the privaledge of having a roof terrace as our apartment is on the top floor - did anyone else pay this as well?
