Hi Debbie and eveyone, I have just come in from getting my newspaper and as usual I stand and glance through them all, I spotted an article in The People that took my interested , and I am sure it wil do you, concerning Palmera Properties and another customer of them and a dispute on the Costa Del Sol, the client agrees the same as us they are crap. We are a bit luckier than him he paid his money in 2004 and a brick has'nt been laid. Needless to say I bought the paper and phoned them immeditaly on getting in gave all details about us I think he was stifling ayawn by the time I had finished but sounded interested took my home and mobile number and said they will pass on and someone could weel phone next week. This is the phone number 0207 293 3504 that is the newsdesk phone and you actually get to tell him direct no putting you on hold or anything so please please pick the phone up and lets all bombard them with our feelings it just might give someone a jolt, they also said in the article that they had spoken to the builders direct  GET DIALLING ONE AND ALL IT JUST MIGHT GET US SOME ANSWERS AND SAVE OTHER PEOPLE USING

Hi Everyone, I don't know if this is going to sound a wild idea but, if this does go belly up & the buliders go bankrupt, we could all get together & perhaps buy the building for a nominal sum. From what we have seen of our apartment, to finish it would only cost about 2K - bathrooms, doors etc & then money could be put in to a central fund to finish all the inside. It would surely be a cheaper option of getting what we want & the banks will want some money back from it so they might just go for it?

hi all, we got back from spain on sun 29. we went to see laurafirst week we were there, could not give any info as builder was coming to look around amarion on the thurs, with some people to asses what work to do to complete.went back 2nd week,to be told they will be putting in 4people to empty water from carpark, then hopefully building can restart, laura also said they are getting people out for inspections& signing.they are hoping it will be finished for september.      if any of you are the lucky ones whose apartments are already finished let us know if you get asked to gofor the inspection &signing. we saw a solicitor while there,he is going to get in touch with urbassa, town hall, palmera. he did say urbassa is one of the better companies operating in the area.will let you know what we hear back. also went to alicante PALMARA OFFICE FOR SALE.spoke to a guy who looked like he may have been shifting items out, said valentin now in malaga, only issabelle there now but it was her day off.think we need to find out from palmera what is happening

Hi everybody

check site every night, amazed people are still looking on the bright side.  I'm afraid that my wife and I have accepted already that we have probably lost the money and property.

we feel if anyone goes out there and signs for their property before the entire build is complete they are asking for problems.  I would not trust the builders nor palmera properties.  Palmera will disapear over night as they did it in England and they will do it again if times are hard out in spain.  They will not think twice about us and our property because lets face it they haven't for the last three years so why start now.

sorry to be so down beat and i hope i am wrong.  I would love to buy you all a drink in the local if the build every completes.  will still check the site every night and would just like to say thank you to everyone who has gone out there and tried to get answers on everyones behalf.  We are unable to travel at the present moment and rely on everyones hard work and feedback.

                                                                                 Thank You  Grant & karen

Hi all. I got back yesterday form Spain. and bought a few more piccies with me. They are in the shared photos now. We met up with John & Trish (JPD) and their friends on Saturday 28th. and found the security guard on site. In my view this is a good thing for us all. For many reasons. John had the excellent idea of bunging the guard a 20 to let us in, Hehe nice one. Not sure i would have thought of that one . So we got a good look around. there is still water in the car park area. so no pumps yet. Have a look at the pictures, and you can still see that theres a lot of equipment still on site. Apart from a few mugshots of John & me. theres a nice sketch on my bedroom wall. of what, i dont know. Maybe a workman showing his distaste of Urbassa lol. The pictures with us in, are only to give anyone who hasnt been over there yet, an idea of scale. Respect to the security guard too. I thought i'd make him famous also, lol.

All in all, i don't think Urbassa has finished with this site. And i believe that they have all good intentions to return. I may be wrong, but there is far too much done, to just drop it. Good vibes while i was standing there.

Thanks for the update all, keeping everything crossed some days I am down about it then some days up today is one of those , looking at the pics who’s going to be the first to dive in the pool from the first floor passageway hopefully into slightly clearer water. On a serious note new building materials have been delivered since I was inside the development (end of last year) and there was no security guard as well on site then , it saved me a 20 that but being a Yorkshire lad I would have started with a 5 Euro note then worked my way up.

Hi Guys, I am still in circulation but have spent last 2 weeks in Costa Del Sol with work committments, no joy with town hall as yet however seeing solicitor with my paper work to ascertain options etc. I am still optomistic re eventual out come, as previously mentioned as a consortium I am sure we can buy the development and sub out  a contractor for completion.

Hi mikeb

i think we will come across problems buying the development as it is

the first problem is we dont know if urbasa would sell it to us they must have a lot of money tied up in this project and when its finished they will proberbly make a fortune

the second problem is everybody getting a mortgage the banks mint not give us a mortgage on a unfinished project

the next problem is getting everybody who is buying to buy this way   (unfinished)

also when all the work is complete people will want there apartments guaranteed

i dont know if this is a good option or not but i thought i should point these problems out

Hi, I was only thinking worst case scenario if Urbasa went pop, A contractor could give an undertaking for completion, there are several apartments complete bar saniterey ware mine being one, most of the ground floor apartments are similar, I would personally complete along with others to help the financing for the rest of the development to be completed. Not straight forward admittedly but at least we can consider potential options.

Hi all, just spoken to Urbasa Laura, apparently a snagging list was compiled after a site visit last week, a new contractor is in hand, finances are now in place and a revised completion date for this year will be advised quite soon. Only passing on the message but hey you never know !!!

Incidentally if Palmera are closing their Alicante office make sure they are not holding any important documents which you do not have copies of, could very easily get lost. Just picked up our original NIE certificates.
