52 Lives aims to change someone's life every week of the year
Monday, July 20, 2015

Jaime Thurston, below, is the founder of 52 lives.

Jaime is originally from Australia. She began her career as a journalist, before moving to the UK, where she worked for a Member of the European Parliament, a wildlife charity and an organisation that supported families of prisoners.

She was a Member of the Independent Monitoring Board for a local prison, and a Trustee of a Richmond-based charity that helped isolated groups of people in the borough.

She now runs 52 Lives, as well as the 12 Lives projects for our corporate partners - Cricks 12 Lives and Orchard 12 Lives.

52 lives website is  http://www.52-lives.org

52 Lives aims to change someone's life every week of the year. It is based on the simple premise that people are good. And lots of good people working together can achieve amazing things.

People from all over the world can nominate someone in need of a bit of help. Every week, 52 lives choose someone to help, share their story, request what they need and - who knows - maybe change a life....or at the very least make someone's day.

They have thousands of supporters who are changing lives every single week.

From the website:

52 Lives aims to change someone's life every week of the year. It is based on the simple premise that people are good. And lots of good people working together have the power to change lives.

Every week, 52 Lives posts a story about someone in need of help on our website and social media, and thanks to thousands of kind supporters, we find that help and change a life.

Since launching in November 2013, 52 Lives has grown into a global network of kind people. It is co-ordinated by one person, but only works with the support of the amazing people who visit our website, share our requests for help, and offer support to people they don't even know, and will probably never meet.

52 Lives gives people tangible help, but our philosophy goes much deeper than that. The most important thing we do is spread kindness. Unexpected kindness is a powerful thing and can change someone's whole outlook on life.

Jaime was on Surprise, Surprise with Holly Willoughby on British TV last night & her website crashed! Her followers increased from around 4000 to over 40,000!

She's an inspiration, please follow her on Facebook & help others if you possibly can.

MISSING MAN FROM ORBA AREA NORTHERN COSTA BLANCA INLAND FROM DENIA
Saturday, July 4, 2015

This man has now been missing from the ORBA area (Northern Costa Blanca, inland from Denia) since about 10.30pm Thursday night.

His name is John, and he is suffering from dementia.

His family are now desperately worried.

Many local people are today in search party groups, scouring the area, aided by a Guardia Civil helicopter which was in the air yesterday evening until dusk, and is back again this morning to air-search the Orba valley.

It is quite possible that John may have walked, or got a bus perhaps, to somewhere much further afield.

Please can everyone across the Costa Blanca have a really good look at the above photo, and think hard about whether they might have seen this man at some point in the past 36 hours.

If you think you might have, please immediately contact your local Police or Guardia Civil; or call his family direct on: 606989391
