Hi Tina

Taray have agreed  to meet the town hall next week with me in attendance, I would be more than happy for you to come along and support (and translate) for me  ......sorry I arranged all this before I read EOS just now !!

They assure me they are ready to start...but who knows who to believe !

I cant get my head arround this consultation period, I am told it is 10 days from when the residents receive the letters, but how do we know when they were actually received ?

Anyway, as you know Donna and I are more than willing to support anything that helps speed this process along and would of course show our support for any meeting with the Mayor.

Andy

What the hell is this consultation period all about? Who has the right to object, or not , as the case may be to a leisure centre that everybody bought into back in 2006? Taray are absolutely not to be trusted so any forthcoming meetings with their representatives will be totally meaningless. Don't just take my word for it, and I have been lied to for over three years, listen to others in my position. We, collectively, have been fobbed off with excuse after feeble excuse for far too long. Taray were admired and trusted builders in the past but have shot themselves in the foot.

Hats off to Tina and Jamie for their gargantuan efforts with regard to this cause, nobody could have tried harder but Taray do not recognise honesty, civility and decency. So, Taray, what are you going to do about it?

Colin.

Hi Tina

We are over for a week starting the 20th June. If there is anything that we can do either when we are there or from the UK let us know. I think that the more pressure we can exert as a community over the next couple of months is going to be critical.

Andy - Thanks for keeping us informed on developments (or lack of).

Gordon & Carol

Hi Tina and the others,

We are happy to support you in this as well whether going to see the Mayor, Taray, solicitors or whoever.

We are over again for a week from tomorrow, and are also happy to do what we can from the UK as well.

Thanks to everyone for all their continuing efforts, especially Tina and Andy - if we all stick together over this we will get there!

Les & Frances.

I am just back in UK from Spain. I visited SC only once as I found it very depressing that nothing has changed on the pool site since my last visit (and the one before and so on). My property is ready (has been for a while) but I am refusing to pay until I get the facilities. I am back on 14th July but I would make a trip out sooner if someone had a meeting arranged with the Mayor or anyone else that could sort this. Thanks to all on site for fighting the cause and let me know what form of support I can be either from here via letter writing or by coming over for a formal meeting or protest. Im sure we all appreciate this is a big ask for someone to coordinate and spearhead this complaint on behalf of the masses but it is surely time to bring as much pressure as we can now.

Hi

After alot of trips to the council and meetings etc we are feeling worn out with the situation. Ja phoned the council on Fri, from england (not cheap) and we have decided to accept the information given and leave it at that. Sorry if we have dissapointed you all. Alot of support seems to be coming from the people in the UK which is appreciated but if your not here it still leaves us feeling a little alone on the cause (apart from trooper Andy of course). im not aware what other people on site are doing reagrding the fight for this.

I wanted to post as I felt people were waiting on a response.

For those continuing to fight good luck. For us, we have had enough of council offices and just want to enjoy our summer.

Happy summer to everyone. There is a Mar Menor waiting to tickle your toes! watch out for the jellies!

Hi Gang,

Did anybody go to the meeting at the Town Hall on Wednesday. If so what was the outcome??

Also, I have heard some gossip that there was a meeting outside the sales office on Tuesday but as I didn't know about it, I didn't go to it. Did anybody else go and again what was the outcome of that??

I personally am going to give Taray until the 31st July to complete atleast the pool before starting legal action against them on the grounds that they sold me an apartment that it will overlook the pool complex when clearly this will not be the case.

If anybody else wants to join me, please fell free to PM me.

Best regards Sicknote

I along with around 25 - 30 people attended the meeting on Monday with Taray. Its the first meeting I've been able to attend so difficult to compare comments made with what has been said previously, but listening to the views of others it seems clear than what we are being told is unchanged .... pool will be built, Town Hall are delaying, can't commit to an exact time etc etc etc

Problem we have as residents / owners is that, despite the efforts of a few, we are not speaking as a group and Taray know this to be the case - we are a dis-jointed band of interested individuals. We have to act as a group - I suggest the following actions:

* we need to appoint a good local (not Taray attached!!) lawyer to act on our behalf - as many people as possible need to agree to share the cost. I know that many will not be willing to put their hands in their pockets, but this is inevitable (unfortunately). Those that are genuinely interested will need to show willing and contribute what they feel able to.

* as a group we need to stick "for sale" signs outside our properties - even if we do not want to sell (and I for one certainly do not) then we need to make it impossible for Taray to sell another building until the pool is built. A multitude of such signs will certainly put off any prospective buyers (not that there are many anyway!!)

* insist on fortnightly meeting at Tary sales office - every Monday at same time (it was 12.00 last Monday). As many residents / visitors need to attend. Minutes need to be taken, record Taray's exact wored, have our solicitor attend, agree Action Points with Taray and hold them to each commitment. Post such minutes to this site.

* Take Taray (I don't know who the guy was on Monday) up on their offer of visiting the major's office - but be organised, don't go in 1's and 2's - mobilise a group of 20 plus. Don't leave the major's office until something positive has been achieved. Again attend with our solicitor.

I am back in England now (unfortunately) but am more than happy to put my solicitor forwards as our voice - equally if "the group" have alternatives, then fine - but we need a certain number of individuals to commit financially before we can do anything.

Hi Becky and Rob,

I totally agree with you. This sounds an excellent action plan but as I said in my earlier post, I will give Taray until the end of July. What I find hard to understand though is Taray say they are ready to start the complex, yet the land has not been flattehed or leveled nor has it been marked out where to dig etc. I know they can't start digging until they have the final permission from the council but there's surely not a problem doing above surface work.

I like many of you am coming here for the summer holidays with friends and if there is no pool by then, then I feel it's the correct time to start the action plan, so count me in and I'm sure I can speak for one other owner next door to me.

Best regards Sicknote

The solicitor would be key to such action. I wouldnt recommend my current one, no where near aggressive enough on this matter. If you have a solicitor you feel confident can and will tackle this then I would be interested.

Hi Gang,

I think the most important point when talking to a solicitor is to check our contracts properly and make sure that Taray are contracted to build the complex before we go any further.

Before I signed up for our penthouse, I asked my solicitor (who is on La Manga Club and deals with all the properties there) what would happen if Taray did not build the pool where they said they would build it. He told me to keep hold of the brochure that Taray had given me and mark the house that I was signing for. He went on to say that the brochure forms part of the contract and if Taray didn't build it where it showed on the plan, then they would be in breach of contract.

But I didn't ask what would happen if they didn't build it at all!!!!!!!!!!!!! so maybe the first port of call is if I e-mail him and ask that question, which I am quite willing to do at my own expense.

I will do that today but remember we are in Spain and they don't tend to reply very quickly.

Best regards Sicknote

The response to my original e.mail has been underwhelming to say the least - grand total of 4 people seem bothered by the absence of the pool / sports facilities.

So I reckon solicitor's fees - lets guess at €10,000, split between the 5 of us - that's only €2k each!!!!

Exactly my point - as a group we can't organise ourselves - exactly what Taray are relying on.

Was there a meeting this week - at the last meeting Taray committed to meetings every two weeks - or have we let them off the hook again?

Taray must be killing themselves with laugher at how ineffective we are.

Sorry

Been busy with work and haven,t been able to read coments for a while.  I have told Taray that I would not complete until the pool complex is built and since March when completion was due they have refused to make contact with me.  My solicitor has informed me he has made contact with Taray who state they will be in touch when pool is built.  Since then Taray have written to me, to let their Auditors know what the balance is of our account, which they have done for the last 3 years.

I will also complete this form when the pool is complete and not a day earlier.

With regard to your request I would be more than happy to be involved in your group.  As you stated the more the better.

Ta

Hi,

If we are being asked for money to pay for layers then we will pay our way ,but I feel we should try and share these costs around as much as poss, more folks, bigger group pay less etc. When we are next over perhaps we should make up some A4 flyers to deliver to everyone and post up on all the walls around the site including the sales office. As a please get behind the campaign with some contact details etc and where we go next. What about us setting the timescale deadlinesinstead of Tarays loose promises?
