So pleased that someone is thinking the same way as I am, Widds.  Thought everyone had decided to give up!  I am sure there are a lot of people of the same mind as us - so please let us know.  Are you living in San Cayetano?  I will be over there from 5th September and perhaps we can start to get something moving.  Do we appoint a Spanish solicitor?  The Solicitor who acted for us in the purchase of our property on SC is not answering any emails I send.  May be on holiday but surely someone should be there!  In the meantime I am putting out feelers for some advice over here.  There are quite a number of British companies who operate both in the UK and Spain so do know both sides of the story.    If we have no pool then we must be entitled to compensation and your figure of £20,000 would be a fair estimate.  We are being told that there will be a pool eventually behind the Sales Office - but that is not the pool we were promised on our own phase.

Hi everyone. September now and still no news on anything. Does anyone have any information on anything? so frustrating. We have €83,000 out there for nearly 2 years now. We cant get our solicitor to take our calls for 2 months now, and our agent seems to have washed their  hands of the whole situation.
The properties in San Cayetano will NEVER BE MARKETABLE again for the price people are paying without the pools, golf range, tennis courts and restaurant that were SOLD to us at the time we all purchased. Does that not bother anybody? We were all lied to and are still being lied to re these facilities! WAKE UPeveryone- completed or not completed- how are they getting away with this? Surely this is a total breach of contract?
Can we get out of this mess does anyone know/ Do we have to wait forever for a L.F.O.? is there any legal cut off point time wise? Dont know if we can take much more of this. This is Europe not MARS, but we may as well be in mars for all the help we are getting. Come on everyone! Does anybody care out there? Will it take a dozen of us camping outside Tarays sales office until we get satisfaction, because i will travel over and do that if i have to, and tell any potential buyers exactly what kind of crooks they are buying from. So annoyed at the whole situation, and my 3 girls are so disappointed!

Hi,

When we were out a couple of weeks ago we visited the Taray offices in San Javier to pick up our LFO. Whilst we were there we spoke to a helpful lady called Teresa (?) who told us that the planning permission for the pool has been held up due to the situation at the Torre Pacheco town hall - the Mayor being investigated etc. Apparently this has resulted in all planning permissions being held up including the one for our pool.

Taray are apparently aware of the concerns this is causing everyone and have said that if planning permission does not come through in 4 months (November) they will build a pool on their own land, that which is currently occupied by the sales office. This should be complete by Easter next year. We asked if this meant that when the planning permission does come through does this mean they will build another one on the original site and were told yes, although this one will presumably still be run by the council with all that may or may not mean in terms of opening times, community charges etc., although they did acknowledge that people on site will expect the pool to be open for longer than the 2 months of the year that the existing council one is open for. We were also given a signed letter that seems to confirm all of this.

Taray seem to be aware of the concerns everyone has over this situation and realise that withjout a pool the site will suffer in terms of resale values etc. We were told all their sites have pools and the Hacienda will be no exception.

We didnt ask about the rest of the sporting facilties but did come away feeling more reassured about the pool and that it will eventually be built.

Hope this helps.

Les & Frances

Please, please, please stop whining........

Eye on Spain used to be a lifeline for me but now I try to avoid this message board like the plague because of all the anti-Taray propaganda being spouted by all and sundry. The pool will be built I have no doubt. I'm almost certain it will be built as per the original plans but if its built elsewhere so what? I have found Taray nothing but accomodating in every aspect. Any query or slight problem we have had has been sorted without fuss.

I live here and love it. If anyone would like clarification on any aspect of life here and on the site in general please PM me or alternatively knock on my door.

Be positive - it will happen!

Donna.

So What ????? are you for real, our plan was to have a pool close by so my wife can go over on holiday with our 3 children who by the way are all under 3 years of age.  So now she will have to travel across a road  to go swimming if there is a pool there,  that will be some holiday for her.  we want what we paid for a pool that is where it is supposed to be.  so if you don't want to here any more said about Taray, then ---- ---

Ehhh...?

Sorry, but I've read and reread my post and just where am I whining? As far as I can see all I have done is try to give people the benefit of information we received direct from Taray about a subject that is clearly 'exercising' a number of people on this forum.

Ho hum...

Firstly thank you for all the constructive information and updated site situation. We like many other people reading this thread have genuine, well founded concerns about this, after all this is our largest  financial purchase in the past two decades.Simply we would like to receive what we paid for and should already be enjoying it.

Donna, lets face it, this is not like buying a new pair of pants! So count me in as another  whiner please, you must be looking at things very differently as a resident and I am sure it is very nice as far as a Spanish residential estate goes, however its not much of a holiday destination without any onsite facilities.  That aside why not have your property valued as it stands and when you are told you have just lost about 40,000 to 50,000 euros will that not bother you?  Perhaps then you can join in on this whiners thread. Until then all I can suggest is that you don't log on to read this thread pehaps start a new one...Title it as you wish to atract like minded people for a general chit chat if thats what you find stimulating.

Well said widds.  I like many have invested our life savings in this holiday house and are completly gutted by whats happened.  Donna You obviously have sold up in England and moved out full time or else your loaded.  Well im not and worked hard for my money and expected to get what i paid for which was house  swimming pools, tennis courts, driving range bar and restaurant.  I would not have considered buying there without all these facilities.  I cant understand how all you people have just given up  and accepted this.  As I said you must have plenty of readies.  I only want what I paid for and thats not a lot to ask for.  If it was here I would get it or have my money refunded promptly.  I cannot believe that I was conned so easily but I have to live with that now.  What about the people who paid extra for their house to be near the pools etc.  Do you honestly think that this is fair.  I know that you are living there full time but you must really want whats best for the whole site and also for your future should you ever want to sell.  So like the widds if there were more people like them things might get done and the wrights thank you for your input .  It was good news if it is the truth.

Paul and Sandra

Well said!

We agree completely with your comments. Having just completed at the end of July and after two separate vists to our new home we now know where we would rather be.

We are also confident having spoken to Taray a pool, or even pools, will be built.

The planning issues regarding the original site for the pool are outside Taray's control. In an effort to sort residents concerns they have promised to begin building in another place if the planning for the original site is not agreed by November.

If you have any doubts please please try to stay posistive. Enjoy what life in San Cayetano already has to offer.

Best Regards

Susan & Glyn

Hi, When we attended the meeting held by Taray in July this year to address the pool planning issues, all were told that we would be updated by the end of September. This time frame was given as an unltimatum for the planning department to have responded,if not then plan 'B' will be implemented and work will start on the land at the side of the sales office for a childrens size pool and a plunge pool spa. At this time we have not heard anything from Taray by any means of their promised update they did pledge that they would send letters out to inform and reassure. Has anyone else either had the update from Taray or witnessed clearing of land excavation work etc.Any updates from anyone would be very welcomed as we feel that their has been a lack of info- updates on this subject, wonder why it has all gone quiet .If work is being done would a kind resident please post us some photo's for all to see the site please. Hope the sun is shining in SC.

My Wife & I were shown around phase one by Joachin in secind week in Sept, and he informed us of all the future projects, of which included the pool, a golf driving range, a sports complex. plus a few other small items I cannot recall. He also highlighted work in phase two, I hope this is of use. we have purchased on Apricot St a quad.

As a local independent politician, here in the Boro, if we need to as a community ask as to what is going on, once over there I will gladly be your voice as long as it is done in a democratic way. I'm the ward councillor here for over 4,500 homes. On walking and chatting with Joachin I must say I was convinced he was being genuine with me. I won't be happy if he was telling porkies.  Hail Hail Seamus & family.

Kevin,

I would be only too pleased if, when you are in San Cayetano, you could become "our voice" with regard to what is going on in HSC with regard to the pools and other matters.  This, as you say, should certainly be dealt with in a democratic way and it would work better if we only had one person representing the owners, particularly those who are still living in the UK - of which I am one!  Many thanks for the offer and I look forward to receiving further news on how the site is progressing.

Who is Joachim?

Regards
Pinot

Hi

I have obtained a document written by the Director General of Taray on the 31/7/8 concerning the pool.

Taray has issued a document in writing in which they inform to the client that they will start the legal process in Town Hall to build the pool etc and if in November they can't get building licence to build all these facilities in Aur Nº 2, they will start building works by the sale office.

Only problem I have is the letter is in Spanish.

If there anybody who can do a  translation? Send me a pm and I will email you the document.

Cheers

laserman
