Well Everybody

As you know I applied to the council via my solicitor to find out exactly what the Torre Pacheco councils plans were for the plot of land designated for the swimming pool etc.

They have made me wait exactly 3 months for the answer.

Here it is

Torre Pacheco Town Hall, Murcia
Document 2601/2008
In reply to your document dated 25 July 2008, General Register of Receipts no 8924 made on your behalf , asking for information about the licence for the residential development "Hacienda San Cayetano", I wish to inform you that we have obtained a technical report with the following detail:

"Based on the information given by the applicant, it is not possible to identify the land referred to in the application. S/he must supply a plan of its location." of which I am informing you at the earliest opportunity.
Torre Pacheco, 30 September 2008-10-25
Signed: Daniel García Madrid
Document stamped and dated in the Torre Pacheco town hall 2 October 2008, General Exit Register number 13061.

So there you go folks. It has taken them 3 months to obtain a technical report to say my solicitor never identified the land. This is after I sent her all the plans.

To say I am a little P***** off is an under statement.

I am in Spain at the moment and will be seeing my solicitor on Tuesday.

Has anyone been in the council office and asked directly if it really is the council holding up the plans. Surely before Taray advertised these facilities all the correct paperwork would have been cleared with the council. Who would advertise facilities such as swimming pools to sell properties then apply for licenses after, surely not a reptuable clever company like Taray?.

Is it really the council holding things up? Or are taray trying to catch up with phase two before finishing phase one.

Someone who can speak spanish needs to go the office directly and ask in the planning office if the council do own this land and if so are they holding up the facilities. seems odd taray got the go ahead for phase two, a big housing development, but still no go ahead for a swimming pool on an already almost complete phase one.

Is anybody willing to go to the council office and ask directly?

You may have a point, why is the swimming pool causing so many problems?  When a new housing development is flying up across the way. Its just a pool in the middle of Taray phase 1 which is now almost complete.
We saw Teresa the other day, shes very nice and she said the residents are putting pressure on to get the pool complete.
I dont really know what to think about  it all at the mo. Thank goodness we have the pool in the village which is gorgoues!!

If they start digging the pools for phase2 before phase1 then  i can understand the residents of phase 1 getting totally P:::::S::::::::D off. Anyone up for chaining themselves to the diggers................... naked?........ to be heard??                    just kidding!!

The people of San cayetano taray need to stand together to sort this out. Our properties are worth less now without the pool and complex promised. I have been adivised if I want to sell I will have to take a big loss without the facilities in place.

If you are a spanish speaker would you be willing to go to the council office into the planning department and ask what is the situation? Is anybody willing to do this? I cannot speak spanish.

Sisky and all

Been there already. Man in the office got out the plans and clearly said the council are not holding up anything. Taray are free to start when they are ready and have been free to start for a long time. who do you believe?

We pulled out and have purchased elsewhere. Good luck.

I went to the customer swervice sales office today and asked again about the pool. i was told they have a meeting tomorrow morning with the town council and the hope to get a decision on where it will be and then hope to have the pool finished by spring. I asked what was the problem with the council, they said they dont think San cayetano are entitled to 2 swimming pools when other villages dont have one. BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY shouldnt that have been discussed before Taray funded the other pool in the village for the council. i think most of us are under the belief taray built the other pool, does anyone know differently?

Anyway the good news is either way we are getting a pool and hopefully they will start it by january................ this is what i was told!!!

Many thanks, Tina, for informing us of your last meeting with Taray.  People like myself who live in the UK are very grateful to you.  I also agree with Seamus that also included in our plans when we looked at San Cayetano to have a house built was the tennis courts, driving range and bar.

By including all these things in the selling material/brochure/DVD for San Cayetano this forms part of our contracts.  If Taray do not build our swimming pool etc. on our complex they are in breach of contract.  I personally am not interested in a pool behind the sales office - on our plans it appears within 2/3 minutes walk of my house which is why I chose my particular plot for the house to be built.  Everything was geared up to the plans we were shown at the time.

If anyone has any news of the proposed meeting between Taray and the Council please let us know.

Pinot

Hi everybody. Paul and Sandra here from Dublin. We haven't been on this site for a while. Just to inform people that we have just cancelled our contract with Taray and they kept 48,000 euro of our money that we put down as a deposit on our quad. They refunded 34,000 out of 83,000 and they kept the rest!  I flew over to the  Taray office in September and met  Aquino who is meant to be one of the main men in Taray. All i can say is that he basically sneered at me and told me 'you signed the contract'. They fobbed me off with rubbish about building on the office site and blaming the council etc. I have to admit  left in tears feeling about 6 inches tall!
We were advised by our solicitor that if we waited until the habitation licence came in we could lose all 83,000 if we then pulled out, so we were left with the option of paying 212,000 euro including tax for a house now worth no more than 150,000 or losing 48,000 euro. A great choice!
We are now finished with this nightmare and down 48,000 that we still have to pay back to the bank  by the way!. Taray sold us our dream holiday by telling us lies and more lies. They sneered at me after i flew all the way from Ireland! They conned us by carefully wording the contract!  They don't give a damn about my wife and children who are so upset about all this!  There are no facilities and the place is being sold as a residential area now, not a holiday home!
I can't understand how everybody, and not only the few people who we were in contact with, is not up in arms about this! You are all being conned and doing nothing about it! We were left with no option. How can you have a holiday home with no pool to swim in?  After paying for it!  We were mugs, but the rest of you out there better wake up soon before it is too late!
We wish all who have helped us, over the past 2 nightmare years, the beat of luck. We are sick but life goes on.
Goodbye everybody. Paul and Sandra.

Dub, I am shocked and heart sorry by your story. Is your solicitor powerless? The fight goes on for me anyway and I hope the rest of the site start taking this more seriously and get more involved.
This is a sad day for SC.

Thanks for keeping on the case with this Tina. We had a meeting with Terasa when we were over in August and felt the same as you that she was being honest with us, but it is very useful for us that are stuck in the UK at the moment to have someone who is on site, understands Spanish, and is willing to keep chasing this up with Taray as well as keeping us up to date on here.

We look forward to buying you a drink or two in our new leisure area, pool etc when Taray have built it for us next year!

Les & Frances.
