A HAPPY THREAD - NO DOOM, GLOOM OR CREDIT CRUNCH MENTIONED!

Had just been catching up on some "pamphlet reading" while I had my early morning cuppa.  One of the pamphlets was about the danger of too much sun etc etc.  Decided to go outside and give my car a "birthday present" - in other words a good old clean!

First off I had to chip a film of ice off the windscreen !!  I was optimistically wearing shorts - so that fact probably accounted for the goose pimples which were rising!!  Positive thought, I thought, would overcome the situation!  It did - I went inside for another cup of tea and a track suit..  Looking forward to next summer now, I think??

It's great to hear that you are on the road to recovery, and will soon be back in the sun - gosh twice in as many months - some people have all the luck!!  Wish that I was one of them!.

It's hard to believe that some people treat you that way -especially when you go "the extra mile" to help out others.  Still, it's great that you can rise above it.

Following on from my post of this morning, my neighbour asked me if my car goes better when it's cleaner - cheeky blighter!!  However, I did find out that it was white!! (Though probably not for much longer!)

Hope that you're fully fit and ready to fly to Spain in a couple of days time - lucky thing!!  Looked out of my window and saw a lot of water coming out of the sky! Just to think that I had gardening lined up for today - well looks as though I'm stuck indoors and going to have a pampering day instead - I know that it sounds like a hard life - but you know - someone has got to do it!!

Seems that Econorent go that "extra mile" too - excuse the pun!!

We've only tried one car hire company - Record - when we've been to Spain.  We've found that we have to upgrade a few levels - or else OH is sticking his head out of the sunroof!!  (For anyone who hasn't heard me mention him before - he's 6'7" tall!!  At home I've got a Ford Escort - and he head rests on the sun roof - and he swears that I find the bumps deliberately!!)

The last time that we got a car from Record the petrol level was very low - and we knew that we weren't going to make it to our house!!  Great fun, late at night, and not knowing where petrol stations were!!  I had flashes before my eyes of having to ring up the company and say that we were out of petrol .....and that we were ..... in what place???!!  (I'm an awful navigator around England as well - but I tell my drivers that I prefer the little known country roads!!)  Previously, we'd never taken note of the petrol stations on the drive down from Alicante - so we had a few nerve-racking moments!!  Must say that we get some great cars from Record though.

It's my 38th wedding anniversary today. Just thought I'd say.

wasn't it  good  to see the posts from rob6578 yesterday. What a breath of fresh to read about someone not only very happy with their lot in Spain, but prepared to point out the problems they have had also. I thought it gave hope to those wronged while not holding back on the possible reality for those looking at buying in future.

I suspect that there are more people from UK and other EU countries that are happy with their homes in Span than are not!

The happy ones do not always shout about it 

But there are lessons to be learned from the last boom by , agents, developers, laywers . local and regioanl councils and buyers and I' m sure they will be ...........................and that those new to the scene looking for a life style buy will get the benefit!

One more thing....it is not a contest...but July 7th was our 42 nd !...married young!!!......3 children & 8 GC...no wonder I want to winter in Spain!!.....not serious
