I rarely if ever attack anyone san mig. However I do take people to task whenever they make continuously negative posts about Spain for the sake of provoking those who like spain and enjoy this forum.
You never contribute anything positive here, you never help others to understand a situation or clarify their needs. Yet you persist on bumping up your negative and unhelpful remarks.
You and your kind are found on every forum, I think you would be termed a TROLL.
I didn´t receive your pm and would delete it without reading it anyway.
As for being an Estate Agent, yes I am, I say so in my Bio/profile, you however say nothing about yourself in comparison, so I can only guess as to who or what I am dealing with. I would say Spain is a decent place to live on the whole for many people, but not all. I look at the negative list in your post and suggest it is not the place for you.
I have no propblem with the UK as a place, in fact I find it quite appealing and attractive, I just don´t care much for the general state of it´s politic, morals or outlook.
To answer your origional post again, "has the dream been tarnished" - well that is a personal decision, for every individual to answer depending on their experiences. I suspect most owning a second home here in Spain get lots of pleasure and grief in equal amounts, however if they didn´t enjoy it they would probably sell it!
You also ask the question "will you still want to keep your Spanish home in 6 months or 1 yeaqrs time", well only you can answer that one. You also ask will you get your money back?....that depends on what you paid for it?
What kind of answers were you looking for?

i suppose people should ask themselves 2 questions.
Why do i want to buy a property in spain(for holiday or residence)
Does it give me a better quality of life if i do??
In all honesty you could do a list for every single country in the world,unless you want to live in a dinghy in International waters you have to make an educated decision......

That goes for wherever you move to and evein within your country of origin. Its a personal choice and preferance.

Well I would hazard a guess that it would be in the same vein of UK property. Location, location, location and lots of research as to what would be a good investment for resale purposes.

Check out the Sits Vacs in today's Sur in English - Marriott are looking for couples to be guinea pig clients in their staff training program in return for free pampering. Only catch is, no doubt, you will have to sit through a hard sell on holiday ownership!

Yes ditto Gina, I cannot wait to get back roll on March. But as I have said before I never did this to make money if it does in years to come great  but our deam has not been tarnished. Pat
