Car Hire Murcia Airport

We normally use Centauro car hire from Murcia airport but I believe they've now moved off the airport. Does anyone know how this operates or have experience of using it. Not sure about the companies left on the airport, we have used Firefly in the past but weren't impressed with them. Any thoughts, anyone?

We were the same and used firefly at Easter however went back to centauro July was fine bus was waiting outside airport its only five minutes away from San Javier.

We use Coy's rent a car and recommended them to our friends who came over in June to San Javier airport , you're met by an employee at the airport, who then takes payment, euro or card, they then take you to your awaiting car which is parked across the road in the car park and off you go, simple as that. We wouldn't use anyone else, never had any problems, hope this helps 👍

Thread is a bit old now but advice is always useful.

We used one of the smaller companies that bring keys to the airport for several years without problems but if you ask around you will find that the smaller operators do sometimes let people down where you are almost guaranteed service with the bigger operators even if you have to pay for it and where the contract can be enforced in the UK.

Our problem came one Easter when for some reason or other our operator was unable to give us a car even though we had booked one some months ahead. We considered our email confirmation a legal contract, it isn't in Spain. We had to have a car and therefore took what was left with the only airport operator that had one left and paid three times what we had contracted with the small operator.

My advice is to use a booking agency like 'Holiday Autos' whose reason to exit is to get you the best deal available with one of the big operators.

Centauro is a reliable company, I have rented with them several times and it is always great.
