Death Of A Tenant

Hi Everyone,

A delicate subject this, but I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some information/advice: I currently rent my property out on a long term basis, my tenant who is in her late fifties took early retirement and has made a life for herself out in Spain (and good luck to her)

However, non of us is mortal and should the worst happen, what would my responsibilities as a landlord be, and what would the (Spanish) legal proceedure be - she has family in the UK who she comes back to see from time to time, and presumably they keep in regular contact. -   would they be responsible as next of kin?

Any practical or legal advice would be most welcome,

What is your question? What your responsabilities are if she dies at your house? In terms of communicating death? Would you want to know if their heirs have a preferent right to be tenants?
