Thanks for the prompt reply Justin,

It was several years ago when the EOS was in its infancy that I took advantage of the 'advertise you villa for sale for free' deal, although I must confess I am now unsure of the exact details.

I did make another enquiry a couple of years ago and you did reply then saying that the deal was for life (or maybe until sold) I can't remember but I have edited and reviewed the listing so hopefully I shall get some enquries.

Once again many thanks and best regards,

Heffin.

 Hi Justin,

I advertised my property for sale on the E.O.S. some years ago and this was advertised then as a 'Free For Life' listing. I have recently amended/edited some of the details on the property and although I was able to do this and view the listing I was wondering if it is still active?? the listing number is SP1077.

Thanks and best regards,

Heffin.

Hi Everyone,

A delicate subject this, but I was wondering if anyone out there could give me some information/advice: I currently rent my property out on a long term basis, my tenant who is in her late fifties took early retirement and has made a life for herself out in Spain (and good luck to her)

However, non of us is mortal and should the worst happen, what would my responsibilities as a landlord be, and what would the (Spanish) legal proceedure be - she has family in the UK who she comes back to see from time to time, and presumably they keep in regular contact. -   would they be responsible as next of kin?

Any practical or legal advice would be most welcome,

Many thanks.....

Hi all,   Heffin here,

This is really a bit of a sad tale. Someone I know has got into serious difficulties with her Spanish mortgage and as the price of her property has amost halved in value she is unable to sell it for enough  to enable her to repay the mortgage.

Without going into details of why she is in financial difficulties, they are such that she is no longer able to afford the mortgage repayments and is seriously considering in 'Handing In The Keys'  to her Spanish mortgage lender.

I have told her to seek professional legal advice before taking such a drastic step, but she has asked me to pose the question on the forum: Has anyone else out there been in a similar situation and what are the implications if she did take this course of action.

Regards, Heffin....

Hello All, Jeffin here (fairly new to the forums)

Can anyone give me any information regarding this 'Non Residents Tax' - I have been advised by my solicitor that I have to pay this tax (E70.39 for the 2008 tax year) whether or not I am resident in Spain, also, apparently it is Spanish law that  I have to have legal representation regarding tax matters which costs me E120.00 per annum.

This seems a bit harsh as I only the use the home I have in Spain only two or three times per annum at the moment (until I retire,   when I shall probably make more use of it)

Does every non-resident pay this tax? - I have no wish to break Spanish law by tax avoidance but it's just got me curious.

Many thanks.....
