Thanks for that DuncanMcG - needed something to cheer me up with summer in Spain coming to an end shortly.  But it's been a lovely time, not so humid as previous years.  Good to know that future stays should be cheaper.

And if you look up the pound to Euro rate, the very first article says pound hit record lows against the Euro and the very next one says pound to increase on record export levels.

Just looked back and someone on here said financial forecasting only exists to make astrology look good.

Fascinating statistics once again from our resident Stat-meister!

To put things in perspective, for someone coming on holiday to Spain for a couple of weeks and spending £1,000 the difference between whether the rate is 1.16 or 1.14 is a whopping 20 euros. surprise If that's going to make any difference to anyone, I suggest they stay home and rethink their finances.

But a pension of €1924 in November last year turning into one of €1540 in August does make a difference. That a couple of centimos now doesn't make that much of a difference ignores the 18 or 20 centimos difference over a longer period.

True, but the featured article is not about the change since last November, it's about the "Interesting week ahead". Personally, I find the price of eggs in Mercadona infinitely more interesting.
