But only in relation to the Euro.

Both currencies are low.  For example, 5 years ago I was getting around 100 Philippine pesos to the pound, today it is 65.

5 years ago I was getting over 6 Malaysian Ringitts to pound now it is under 5

Its all swings and roundabouts ..

The euro against sterling is good for  the ones who have a property in spain  and is paying their mortgage in sterling ,

but the ones who are trying to sell their homes in spain and bring their money back to the uk ...not so good  !

Not too sure what it means for the prop sales in spain ..

I used my  Halifax Clarity Credit Card at the Cam ATM this morning to draw out Euros I got an exchange of 1.2756.

I went on line and transfered the ammount to pay my CC bill before I get it with any added interest

I find this always the best way.

I have had my property 9 1/2 years

No morgage and not selling.

My IBI bill went up €28 this year.

Still nothing like my council tax of £1500 in uk

When I lived in Zambia in 1970 there were 2 Kwacha to the pound.  Now there ara about 7500.  And just look at Zimbabwe - when I visited there in 1998 the public phone boxes wouldn't accept coins because you couldn't get them in fast enough to pay for time on the call !!

the euro at 4.30pm was almost down to £1.28.http://www.xe.com/ucc/

I was lucky, today I at noon I got  almost £1.27 with no charges or postage.

In Thailand nine years ago the £ bought 84 bhat, yesterday it was 48.5, keeps struggling to 50 then drops back.
