Hi all,

when I purchased my apartment a few years ago I went for a furniture package to get me started. Although I only come over to spain four or five times a year, I have decided I need a more comfortable bed and was wondering if memory foam is suitable for the Spanish climate. Any comments on this subject would be welcomed as I do not want to spend money if they are not suitable.

Many thanks for your help.

Tech.

 Hi Tech

My Sister in Law has lived in Spain for the last 8 years.

She brought a memory foam mattress and has had no problems with it

I have one in the UK and just love it!

I bought a new bed in Spain and regret not paying the extra for a memory foam mattress

I am now considering buying a topper for it.

So if you find an outlet, or if anyone knows somewhere in the Costa Blanca South area, let me know please.

I took a memory foam topper over to Spain in the summer as we drove down, I was unsure if it would make us too hot during the summer months but it was perfect, made such a difference to the uncomfortable mattresses we got with our furniture package! Well worth buying in my opinion x

Hi,

Yorkshire Linen in San Javier keep memory foam toppers in store, a friend of mine bought one there the other week. They are near the Wok Buffet , just down the road from DFS.  She seems very happy with the results from it.

Friends of ours in Spain have bought these http://www.dfsspain.com/offers/blogs/viscolastic-memory-foam.html

http://cgi.ebay.es/Colchon-viscoelastico-Aloe-Vera-135-1-80-190-/260655247703?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_186

& say each is wonderful so perhaps alternatives to a topper as they're comparable in price (I'm talking about the better DEEP mattress toppers not the thin ones) I would think.

Changing Rooms in La Zenia sell them.

Yes, Yorkshire Linen shops sell memory foam toppers (Quesada shop, one by Haberneras, Torrevieja etc)

Hi all,

thanks for the info, when I come over for Christmas I'll be spending my time looking for the mattress. Does anybody know an outlet in the Mojacar area?

Tech.

We had the same problem - bought a bed as part of a furniture package and have regretted it ever since as the matress is soooo hard! However, in October we bought a memory foam matress topper from 'The Bed Specialists' in La Zenia and it has transformed the bed! We're so pleased with it. It is about 3inches thick and cost just under £180 for the king size.  Money well spent, although we haven't used it in the heat of the summer yet, but I'm sure it will be fine.

We purchased a memory foam topper at believe the the place is called UK or British Bedding in Torrevieja. We also bought several more over from the UK, by packing them into vacuum space saver bags so as to fit into suitcases for flight over to Spain.

I can`t see why not. We brought one over from the Uk and have not had any problems. I don`t know where to get them in Spain though.

I have the perfect solution for you! The coolmax memory foam mattress range has all the comfyness of normal memory foam mattresses, however they have a special fabric which keeps you cool and stops perspiration through the night! You can check them out on this site - lion mattresses, I would deffo reccommend this mattress for the spanish climate.

when I need a new bed or a mattress I always go to Sweet Dreams in the Playa Flamenca Commercial Centre. They are very helpful and have a good delivery system from their factory in Murcia. I believe that they also make mattress toppers to order and have a  large choice of pillows of all sizes. I have found their prices to be very reasonable.

We bought a memory foam mattress in the UK. Unfortunately my wife suffered an allergic reaction to it. Her wole body was covered in a rash. Although I think they are comfortable they are not the answer for everyone. My son now has the mattress without problems.

hi,

i live here in spain permanently and I bought a memory foam

mattress topper online from amazon in the u.k. and even with the

postage costs it was cheaper than buying it over here.

It is the best thing I have bought as it is so comfortable in summer and

winter.
