has anyone had any indication that keymare wish to go to completion - i spoke with them this week and they said that completion is hoped for about a month after the courtesy visit. i assume some have had thier courtesy visits over a month ago now. i was also advised that blocks 19-24 had received thier licence for 1st occupation

We had out inspection visit on the 9th May. Everything was fine.  We have been given the 23 June for completion but this is still as yet unconfirmed.  We spoke with KMare this week as it is getting close and we have many arrangements to make.  We are advised that the 'builder still has to hand over' and that we will hear shortly, but that they could not confirm the date.

It is interesting that you mention the blocks which have received the license for occupation.  We are block 22 so maybe this is good news for us? Who knows!!

When we reserved our property we were told that the spa and indoor pool would not be complete until later, and we did not expect it to be finished when we complete. In any event the indoor pool would not be open until October anyway so what is the problem with completing now providing the outdoor pool is open. Both Hills and Residential had the completion of their indoor pools after people had completed and moved in. This is exactly the same as Keymare are proposing on Thalassa.

Assuming our snagging visit goes OK and the certificate of occupation is issued by the town hall, then we will be completing on our apartment

Block 9 Phase 1

We visited the development on Friday & the swimming pool on phase 2 is in place & has been filled with water, even though it is in the middle of a building site!

I would guess that the phase 1 pool is probably the same.

We were told that the spa will not be available until October although the building is now in place. The priority for Key Mare is to get the buildings finished & then everything else will be done.

We have also been allocated an inspection visit & the letter advises that everyone will have to pay an initial "community" fee of 150 Euros which will be used to complete the communal areas, communal lighting etc.

Just had confirmation of the habatacion certificate and Keymare have advised a completion date from 29th June onwards.

we will be completing even though the indoor and outdoor pool are not ready as we won't be staying at the complex till August and hopefully the site should look a lot better then.

The important thing for us is that all the waiting is nearly over.

I totally agree with Badger there is something to be said about the fact that the waiting is nearly over - so what if the indoor facilities are not complete or that there is work still to do on the infrastructure - the main thing is to put everything to bed and get on with completing and taking possession etc.

Things are not perfect but as long as the lenders and we ourselves are happy with our lot then that's the main thing. I am certainly not making any bother about the finishing as I am confident it will all happen in good time - KeyMare are a well respected organisation and will not chance losing their reputation.  Its easy to look for critisism but why spoil the adventure.

By the way has anyone read about recovering a percentage of the 7% spanish tax as long as the wheels are in motion prior to completion? We are looking at this at the moment.

has anyone considered the fact that come October the outdoor pools get closed for the winter and only the indoor pool will be available.  If there is any form of delay to the proposed October completion date for the indoor centre, then we will be letter pool-less.

personally I would rather not complete until everything is in place, I dont want to holiday on a building site and anyone I let out to would not either.

When we originally looked at buying on phase one in March 2005 our decision was strongly influenced by the Al Andalus project showhouse.  The landscaping was in progress, the pool was being finished and the indoor community rooms etc similar. The landscaping was ongoing with palm trees newly planted.   Nevertheless, many people had taken possession. It certainly didn't look like a building site and in fact the pool became available very shortly after our first visit.

I don't think we should underestimate how quickly the important aspects we are referring to actually take place, as this will become the main focus, create negativity and in turn spoil what should be a happy time for us all.

Having visited 3 times this year I have been amazed at the progress that has taken place in such a short time.  I hope I am not coming across as naive - just realistic.

I totally agree with you cyprus, i am very impressed by how quickly the site changes from week to week.

I am not meaning to sound negative, far from it, just cautious really.  From what I have gathered on threads regarding the AA hills development its much easier to get things done whilst you still have to pay your final balance.  Once payments have been made, things take a lot longer.

If it did over run past October then there may be no swimming pools to use as the outdoor ones are likely to be drained.

On a positive note, the photos are amazing and I just cannot wait to get out there.  This is going to be the best development in the area by far.

I agree with Cyprus too - We first visited the site (phase 2) at Easter & having returned last Friday, just 7 weeks later, it is amazing to see the difference in the site during that time.

I can appreciate that without all the facilities in place, rentals may be difficult/impossible but if no-one completes then this will only delay the final completion further.

There are already some palm trees planted on phase 2 & the structures for the walkways are in place. Also some of the block paving between the blocks has been completed so I don't think it would take very much time to complete these areas once the buildings are done.

Hi all,

We inspected on Wednesday of this week (block 19) and there were no major problems apart from a couple of bad scratches on cupboard doors which will be replaced. The lady from Key Mare did say that any minor things will be sorted after completion and as their after sales office is just down the road, it would be quite easy to go there if necessary.

The block definitely has a licence for first occupation and so completion will be around 15th July. However, it;s worth mentioning that the area around and next to the outdoor pool were far froim finished and, when pushed they did admit that it won't be ready in time for completion.

Send me a personal email if you need any more info. I'll be uploading some pics over the weekend.

Gareth.

Our inspection was on 9th May. We were given 23rd June as completion and intend to drive down as we have a lot of 'stuff'' to take.  Been waiting for confirmation - emails backwards and forwards etc.

Received a message from KMare this am to say they still cannot confirm the 23rd but will let us know asap. Mmmmmm ........kind of getting twitchy now as we have a lot of important measures to put in place before we set off  - not to mention booking the ferry!

I have asked them to tell us if it is not going to be 23rd or give an indication but alas not a clue - quite frustrating but still hoping - ever the optomist ........... We are in block 22
