Ruby,

I dont mean that there should be no rules, of course there should.  I never said that there should be no community either, I think you are overeacting a bit.

Since these forums have been up I have seen numerous threads saying we cant do this or we cant do that, go back through them you will see what I mean.  I am not the only one who feels its a bit over the top.  I mean there was a thread about towels over railings, surely thats a bit much and a minor detail to worry about when there are clearly more pressing issues.  This is just one example.  I honestly could not care less if I saw a towel over a railing, it would not bother me in the slightest.  Then we had the hassle with the sky dishes, saying that people cant put them up.  Well if you look across the complex from high almost all blocks had them months ago.  Finally sense prevailed on that one

what I meant is that rather than getting pedantic over the smallest things, how about we tackle the main issues at hand.  We cant expect to get everything sorted at a community meeting once every 3 months.  You only have to read the EOS main article this week to see what happens at his communtiy meeting.  I have been to AAT 4 times since Jan and I have not seen one group acting in a detremental way to the complex or others.  All I see is people enjoying themselves.  Yet I read this forum and its the complete opposite.

The VP's and the president are doing a sterling job for us all, and I respect them fully.  There are obviously some main issues that need addressing and these must get sorted out asap so we can all move on.

I think the point here is shutting the outdoor pools in mid september is just crazy.  It wont have cooled down so much as its too cold to swim.  My preference would be to have the pools open from Easter weekend (if its in April) till october half term.  thats probably a month to six weeks longer.  Even if the water does cool a tad it will still be warm enough to sit round the pool and paddle your feet etc.

The costs of the lifeguards does seem very excessive given thats its roughly 5k a month an they only receive a small portion of that.  We must be able to getter a better deal than this...

Despite the fact that the spanish are the majority population onsite and they take siestas and probably dont mind not sunbathing/swimming in the afternoon, there is a big enough contingent of northern europeans who may wish to frequent the pools at this time.  They should not be closed and quite frankly although the lifeguards are very nice people they dont do much do they.  So its in all our interests to come up with the best solution to A) reducing the cost of the lifeguards B) reducing the need for them at all or C) ensure that there is suitable cover to keep the pool open all day

The bottom line, as Andy has said many times is we dont currently get what was advertised when we purchased and this is not right.

My feeling is that this year is a learning curve but we must correct these issues for next year.  This is a holiday retreat for most of us and thus we dont want it being like a nanny state with too many rules and regs being pushed on us.
