Hi all from a newbie buyer,  just bought in Almoradi (south of Alicante, 10 miles from Torrevieja). Nice apartment on the edge of town - nothing fancy, just quiet with nice views.

First, as I was too late for the agents survey, just had to say a word about our agent, Inmobiliarias J.L.Morales in Almoradi. Principal - Pepe; sales - John Ward. Honest, straightforward, couldn't do enough for us up to, during and after the sale. 125% brilliant. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Second, need some paint and stuff now!  Does anyone know of a B&Q/Homebase-type place in the Torrevieja area? We aim to be popping back and forth over the next few months, decorating and furnishing etc. Any recommendations for places for furniture in the same area also?

Finally, great site!  Was pointed this way by a friend and now I'm hooked.

Thanks in anticipation for the help

Steve.

PS - Any other readers in Almoradi?

Hi, newbie and welcome to the CB and EOS.  Hope you have a great time visiting your apartment.

There are lots of places in Torrevieja for paint and building supplies.  Aki stores in the Habanera centre (next to the big Carrefour) is similar to a B&Q in UK.  There is also a Brico House after the Punta Prima roundabout heading towards Playa Flamenca (head south on the N332.  Take the slip road directly after the Punta Prima roundabout and Brico House is about 300 metres up on your right).  There is also a Brico Todo a bit further along on the N322.  Take the turning for Campoamar Golf and it is right in front of you on the right of the Tex Mex restaurant.  They will order things for you and cut wood to size etc.

Happy painting!!!

Hi Steve,

we have an apartment in Almoradi as well. We are near to the Medical Centre about 10minutes walk to the square. You shouldn,t have much trouble finding furniture in Almoradi , it is called "the town of furniture", there is a street that has one shop after another. It is a lovely place, very friendly and still very Spanish.

                                Best Wishes  Gill &  Neil.

Hi Steve, we too have bought in Almoradi in Amarion III, Ours should be finished  this year. we have been waiting four years, so all us buyers in Amarion III are a little fed up to say the least. We stayed in Almoradi over Christmas and the weather was fantastic! Its an up and coming town and has changed a lot since we first went to look round with a view to buy.

regards John and Trish

Many thanks for the info - it will be most useful!!

Gill and Neil - you must be very close to where our friends are - they have a nearly new appt. on Calle Geranio.  We have spent a lot of time there while we have been looking. Ours is not too far away - at the far end of Calle Valencia.

Look forward to meeting you at the little bar on the square one market day!

Steve.
